The loomy digs, the pinging of a spoke because of a hard turn, the whiz of the freewheels and the chirp of the brakes echoing through the fog... It's like ASMR for MTB riders, babies trying to sleep, nuns praying and escalator repairmen.
@@27jasepp free-wheeling is when you can coast along on your bike without having to keep pedalling. So the wheels can spin independently of the pedals, but only while you're travelling forwards. When you spin the wheels the other way, little cogs engage, and force the pedals to move with the wheel. These little cogs are what that whirring is, it's them clicking back into place (it's difficult to explain without showing you or drawing it.) Basically you can spin the pedals/back wheel one way, and the other won't spin. But do it the other way, and the cogs engage, and drive the wheel. Hope that helps, and sorry this is so long
I just got into this sport. I've been on bikes since I was a kid, but never riding like this. Some of you amaze me. Never had an appreciation for how much skill this stuff takes until I tried it.
Dont know so mich about bikes but those the guy on the green bike ride with tubless? Was just thinking about how he like stiffens the rear wheel att 0:19
The “oohhh myyyy” was definitely worth the wait. Incredible riding.
No useless commentary...just riding. Love it!
wish we could say the same for these comments

I dont like asmr, but this is the one exception
What causes that whirring sound? What are free wheels?
