- Splashdowns basically beg to be shot down and like everything we do on this channel we do it with style. So it's time to be educated again, this time in the Art of Splashdown Cancels!

Poor Splashdown I almost feel bad
It gets bullied until it gets removed from the game for Splatoon 3. Poor soul :(
Unpopular opinion: Baller is worse than splashdown.
You can use baller as a panic button, but it feels like it takes 3 years to come out and can be destroyed super easily. Splashdown one-shots baller.
@@lukeblanchard8435 It's unpopular because it's wrong. If Baller takes three years to come out and is easily destroyed, Splashdown takes 5 and doesn't give any protection in the slightest. Even then, you know it has a delay before it comes out, so just pop it earlier. With Splashdown, you hit the button and hope your enemy doesn't look up.
Also, Baller beats Splashdown. If you time your explosion correctly, your i-frames will stop the Splashdown from destroying your Baller and will kill the Splashdown user instead.
@@123christianac Baller Is a panic button. It wants to work like Kraken but it doesn't. There is nothing I can change about that.
@@lukeblanchard8435 Splashdown works better as an object destroyer at this point since it causes huge Rainmaker shield damage and instantly destroys bubbles and Booyah Bomb armor
Splashdown can work as a damage option if you end up catching someone off guard, but even then the start up causes problems. Also if you're using it as a panic button you're getting absolutely nothing (as you should lmao)
Also Baller definitely works better in the protection department than Splashdown, that one has armor and you only need to worry about it being broken before you've retreated if multiple people are attacking you. Splashdown can easily be canceled solo

I remember I once survived two splashdowns at once using a baller explosion's i-frames. The explosion also killed them both afterward.
Yeah, you can’t destroy a baller once the animation shows it’s full of ink and about to explode
Those baller i-frames! One or twice I did a super jump splashdown where a baller did that to camp me, successfully.
Also, what a real coincidence it was two splashdowner trying to get you. It would have been a good clip to see.
This series is god tier and a few weeks ago I watched them all wondering if we would get more. Pleasantly surprised.

I once splashdown cancelled with a Splash Wall. Was on wahoo world, the wall peeked over the edge a load so when they splashdowned when very weak they somehow timed it to happen under the wall and died

At least it is hilarious and surprising when you see it canceled by strange stuff such as splashwalls, ink mines or even a roller at the right moment.
One time I splashdown canceled someone on moray with the dynamo roller by just jumping off a ledge with the roller down.

The art of series is so good. I once thought "well, eventually he will run out of ideas" but here we are, the year of splatoon 3 and hopefully, a whole new series of the art of, splatoon 3 style
Cancelling another person's Splashdown via your own is on a whole other level of satisfying!
OMG that was absolutely amazing and incredible, I didn't know there was more ways to cancel a splatdown. But when I did some of them myself it was oh so satisfying. I might actually try some of these next time. XD

AWESOME! I didn't even know there could be so many different ones with the splashwall. 1:59 That tower wall happened to me TWICE LOL (ok, the tower was moving backwards to the center, but still same results LOL XD; but if one manage to do it offensively, it really deserves an X medal). So yes, splashwalls can really be offensive tools, don't underestimate its power LOL XD.
I really liked the names, these are very creative and funny. Tactical inkmines was awesome. The curling bomb one looks really cool, I hope to have something cool like that one day (I think I have like 3 accidental cancels with them, of the 750+ I have in my record). I didn't know the splinkler could have more cool ones; the shower looks somewhat possible, and fun to pull of. I once saw a rainmaker barrier squish at ground level; it was so rare to see. The bubbler one really looks that it can be possible intentionally; I saw a video about an accidental one a long time ago. I once did a tower theft, but to myself LOL XD. And of course, The propeller one, the ultimate disgrace XD (rage quit, uninstal LOL XD).
OH, there was a shoutout to me on the description? Thanks! I am glad some of the few suggestions I made, were useful for this video and that it ended up being so cool. A time ago, one of your videos inspired me to look for different ways of splashdowns cancel and categorize them, as you do with the tiers in your other "art of.." videos. Now that I gave you the idea with a few suggestions, it has somehow come full circle. Thats really curious.

Yeah some of the clips were incredibly difficult to get, especially the ultimate disgrace 😅 But it was worth it in the end

I forgot to ask, these videos you have are also called the art of splashdown cancel or something like that if I remember correctly. Was that name of your series inspired by these series from wadsm?
@@Wadsm It was really worth it at the end. The video is amazing. When I gave you that few suggestions list, I thought that many of these (specially the interesting ones) were really difficult to do even on a controlled environment. That is why I was surprised when you told me in the other comment the other day, that you already finished the video (in the one reply I did just a day before you realized this video. What a curious coincidence).

I fell off my chair after seeing the splash wall win ☠️
I can still remember the splashdown and even the (cool bubble??) Had more armour. But especially the bubble was fun because it had a ton of armour and everyone used it. I was one of the first people to discover than it was breakable and how to do it, but it was only possible by using a full Splatling or an airbrush. Later both armours got nerfed.
But I didn't know that the splashdown was breakable because I mostly used it mid superjump because noone knew it was possible until a year later when everyone knew it. Aah that was fun too
You forgot cancelling a Splashdown while super jumping. I once did that but couldn’t record it because my storage was full
I've done the Inkjet Direct before. Was on my first time playing Octo Shot. I was legit shocked that I got the kill. Glad that I clipped it. xD

(Roller by actually leveling myself with the person and just rolling over)

My splashdowns have been canceled a million times by people rolling UNDERNEATH me but I’ve never actually canceled a splashdown myself. Two years of playing the game and it never occurred to me that I could actually kill people during their splashdowns too.
