  • [Apple] My toxic family skips my wedding to go on a trip together, but they dig their own hole LOL
    Unexpectedly, my brother informed me that he was on a vacation with our parents, completely disregarding the fact that my wedding was scheduled for the following day. To make matters worse, I later discovered that my dad had taken my credit card without permission to finance their trip

      Both of my parents were like that. My brother was the 'Golden' Child. Due to him being male as well as being a Rainbow child. Anything he wanted to try for, they encouraged it. Me, they would come up with excuses on why I wasn't supposed to try for what I wanted in most cases. The only thing I was encouraged to do was reading. Heck, when he got married. They went over the top for expenses. Also the number of guests between the two were obvious. I had a practically no one coming beyond my parents' siblings. And even then, pretty much no one on my dad's side got invited. It was almost like they were hoping that I would have done a courthouse wedding.

      He probably expects her to his personal ATM and possibly his maid.

    • @Solitaire001
      @Solitaire001 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Concerning the credit card, he said as far as he was concerned her money is his money, so he thinks he has the right to spend her money without her permission. He probably counted on being able to use it while vacationing after using his own credit card for things he'd have to show an ID for (plane ticket, hotel room). In that case, the Merchant should have refused the card if the name on the card did not match his ID. Fortunately, she noticed the card was missing and deactivated it.
      Why he expected her to live at home is because he thought she needed his permission to leave his house. He's so controlling that he thinks that she can't leave without that permission. Plus, he didn't care about her leaving until it started to impact him.

    • @sjmcc13
      @sjmcc13 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes, but unfortunately his attitude makes sense.
      To many cultures see their children as property, and place on them a duty to support their parents.
      The father clearly knows she has been the source of their funds(if she is the only one with a job it has to be her), but due to either pride or sexism (likely a combination of both) refuses to accept that as true.
      If she was a useless looser like he claims, that card would not have close to the balance to cover what they need, taking it requires he know she has funds. Heck looking through her room would be a waste if time unless he was looking for her real bank book to "take what is rightfully his"
      That said pops and bro are both clearly lacking in intellect, bank books have dates on them, so it takes a lot to see a bank book look through it and not notice it has not been updated in years, plus to assume it is the only one... but he was looking for confirmation she was broke and jobless because he assumed she could not land a job after losing her old one, which she did not lose but he wanted her to be a looser so heard she was.
      That said, the nerve if the father to demand she lie about why he was absent from the wedding, something only someone desperate to avoid shame would accept to do.

    Dylan was thrown out of his custodial last hope after he was caught stealing and drinking leftover booze at a dive bar and consequently got into a drunken brawl, resulting in his arrest. His parents, unable to put up with his shenanigans any longer, changed their names and took off into the hills for new adventures, completely forgetting they had a son, thanks to undiagnosed early stage Alzheimers. Dylan, now old, jobless, aged and feeble and with a few screws loose, was last seen decades later dancing provocatively for money in the middle of busy intersection, with no success. Cops chase him for indecent exposure and for conspiracy to commit prostitution and his fellow elderly folks blame him for making them all look bad. Dylan still wears only the suggestively taped up pieces of the old bank book on the daily symbolizing what is left of his dignity. [The End]
