Escaped? She didn't "escape" from anywhere or anyone. Her family wasn't holding her prisoner anywhere; she was free to come & go from the house as she wished. They simply just didn't care if she did or not
I did a lot for my mother as she got older - but that's because she was an amazing, loving mom my whole life. And she never asked for anything - I did it out of love and gratitude.
The mother said I've raised you till now so you should pay me more money. Maya is 29 and left home as soon as she could. So how could the mother have raised her "Till now." at least 10 years later. And her sister is still living at home and is older.
It depends. Some retired people who worked a lot and earned a ton over the years can get a hefty check each month. People with disabilities on SSDI generally get less, but some do get a lot for the same reason. I've worked at an aging and disability organization for decades. The SS ranges I've seen were between $400 to $6,000. That person I spoke to who received $6,000 a month was highest I ever heard and I was totally flabbergasted! I REALLY wanted to ask what kind of job he did before he retired, but it wasn't my place. The SS retirement system is messed up since they changed the process years ago. The amount you get varies depending on what you earned and your age when you retired. If your maximum retirement age is 72 and you retired then or older, you would get the full amount. But if you retire between 65 to 71, you won't get the full amount, but a percentage of it. Your maximum age is based on when you were born, which is really dumb and people get cheated, which isn't right or fair.
You use your working life to get to the point where you can live on your pension or Social Security. If you can't do that, then you need to find enough income somewhere to cover the gap. If you start gambling, you're going to lose everything.
Oh, the hypocrisy smelled strong when the parents realized their " good for nothing" daughter is a CEO of a company. Edit: I'm well aware Maya is not a good for nothing, but unfortunately her parents treat her like one.
Ones like this are SO dumb to me The OP literally gets treated like trash her entire life and is AWARE of it, yet still expects love and acceptances. Maybe I'm being to harsh cause I haven't experienced it, but damn, you're an adult now. Use your head
It doesn't matter if OP is an adult. There are some who still wish for the improvement of their parents even after they've been treated horribly. It's that sad feeling of hoping and all. That isn't something that is easy to get rid of for feeling that way.
@@tailsofchaos I know and I apologize for talking about it that way. It's just I wish they wouldn't spend a good chunk (in this case, the beginning part) of the video of the OP getting insults hurled at he or she. It's sad
Why keep talking to them!?! She’s pathetic.🥺. When her parents straight out told her they don’t want her. She’s stupid to give them money when they totally disrespect her.
Why even send them anything, get a new job , change all your contact information, and then abandon these freeloaders. Why are you putting yourself thru this anguish.
How many people kept yelling "WTF" at the screen? I’ve fought with my kids before. Teens can drive a person bonkers😂. But I can’t imagine saying those things or never seeing my kids again.
Why not tell these sorry excuse for parent's to get off their ass and get a JOB?.. I can understand if they were old & sick & couldn't work...but these are abled bodied healthy adults.. children have no obligation or duty to help crappy parent's... raising a child YOU brought into this world was YOUR duty & responsibility.. they don't owe you anything for that..
I don’t know how many parents actually demand to be paid back but there are societal pressures for children to help their parents as they age. Then there are the parents that are not good people in the first place that do their best to leech off of their children. Personally I believe a parent child relationship should move from dependency to responsibility and from obligations to respect. Mine now adult their own lives as do I. I have no problems with continuing emotional support but have no expectation of them caring for me in my later years nor do I offer to bail them out of the consequences of the decisions they make. The entitlement of the characters is certainly amusing though and I enjoy the drama of the story lines. Audio daytime soap operas 😂
In listening, say no, forget them. They should get no money. You can’t let them take any more money, shouldn’t go home. Even the dad is being a jerk. Both parents are sick. Stop the money. They may cry going to end up having to block them. Worst case, simple restraining order.
If you're not part of the family, you don't need to pay them anymore. And if Katie is making so much more, she can give more money. Tell your boss your parents are idiots, and if they show up, call the police on them.
"It's a child's duty to pay back their parents" No the fuck it isn't, the child has absolutely _zero_ choice in being born, they cannot be held responsible for their parent taking care of them
To me, the logical answer is this: Mother: You have a duty to support your parents for raising you. Daughter: Wrong, it was your responsibility to raise me, just like it was your parents' responsibility to raise you. In turn, it is my responsibility to raise my children, and my children's responsibility to raise their children.
Because to them Katie is their precious child and she shouldn't be burdened with supporting her parents. As far as the parents are concerned that is the responsibility of Maya.
Get rid of the annoying background video.Don't wanna watch people playing with money.Don't care about people in that stupid video. And it is distracting from this story
That "mom laughter" is like Disney villians.
Stop just stop sending them money. They are giving you a guilty trip. If they come to your office, call the police.
Oooh have you heard, these things are fiction, no need to get wound up
If someone said I wasn't family. I'd give a sharp okay, and not let them know I was upset. But of course, cry in private.
I like it when siblings stick together😊
Honestly I would have bounced and blocked them the minute I escaped. Playing favorites never ends well

They are literally extorting the money out of her.
She needs to make sure her boss known they are nuts and will cause a scene if let in.
"Conditional love". Stay away from those kind of "parents!"
Geckos protect houses? I think that's just a cheap plug for Geico Insurance😂😂

Mine did and they only raid me for 8 years. The rest of the time I lived with my aunt and uncle and grandparents.
Don't beg people to be in your life who treat you badly. Find those who Respect and Love you for you.
Those two are a day late, and a dollar short when apologizing etc
Don't hold the money you send over our heads, but we can hold the fact that we raised you and now expect compansasion for that. 😠
It's amazing how shameless those parents are to be sponging off their kids, and being okay thinking that they are totally in the right to do so.

Why would you even bother? Even tell your sister-love you but I’m no contact with them.
Should have told parents she is a stripper. Then they would leave her alone.
Mommy dearest...Dad... I'd rather live with a dozen rabid dogs than you two..
I'd rather live in a pool full of alligators than with that mother and father.
Wow. Don't need me? Then you also don't need the $1K I send every month.
