You were the first TH-camr I watched, like, 15-16 years ago. The eye tip that I learned from you that always served me well was - the higher the transition/crease color goes, the more "hood" it camouflages. I don't think you quite worded it that way (you probably said something about "lift"), but that's how this hooded girl took it. And, the older I get, the higher my transition color has gone up. lol
What stands out to me is Emily’s real relationships with people in her life and willingness to do things for them as well. I truly believe this woman is just who we see and I wish she was my neighbor!! I also appreciate how she just wears what she wants. Wet n wild with some ND a dash of revolution alongside Huda all topped off with Revlon and Maybeline with a sprinkle of Hourglass to go shop at Walmart. I just really am grateful to have found her channel about 13 years ago and to see the same lovely and true woman today. Just beautiful ❤ God bless you!
you are always saying like how you would teach if you weren't a youtuber, but i feel like this is perfect for you - it's like you're a makeup teacher 🙂
This is my kind of video. Thank you Ms. Webb for the inspiration video. And thank you for teaching and taking care of our children who are our future!!🍂🍁🍎🍎🏫🏫
Thanks Emily please make more videos like this you explain things so elegantly and have so many tips and tricks! Your so fun amd we all Look forward to your up loads! You have got me thru some pretty hard times ❤ so Thank You❤
I was 51 when I started wearing eyeshadow, so I needed a LOT of tutorials. I have always worn makeup, just not eyeshadow. 👍 Now I love eyeshadow and can’t do any look without it.
Thank you for the shout out to Mrs Web. Teachers are amazing individuals and don’t get the accolades they deserve. I am so grateful for the Teachers in my life. You are the best. Happy Fall🎃
I’m 62 and have been watching since I came across her channel about ten videos in. When I realized how good she was, i binge watched the first nine. I agree 100% with those who are saying that she’s the best! As soon as her palettes were available, I ran out and got them! Thank you Emily! And thank you Mrs Web for today’s idea.
I like when you work in tutorials into your videos, particularly the eye looks. You always have had a unique way you shape your eye and it always looks so pretty and fitting for the face. Also appreciate you pointing out you don’t need the exact product, palette to get the look you are after.
Wow!!!!!! The way you explained and demonstrated and then in the end recapped, you HAVE to have teaching experience!!!!! Videos like THIS videos, please please please make more!!! Wow wow wow thank you x100000000000000000000000000000
I love videos like this! I would love to see more of your small pallets/ quads reccomendations. Kind of over the big palettes these days. I got the glossier quad in almond because of one your videos and i love it, I never would have picked that up on my own! 💓
Do I already know how to do eyeshadow, definitely. Did I still watch this whole video with joy because it’s like getting taught by my TH-cam big sister? Absolutely 😂❤
Absolutely love this video! I am a teacher and I am so happy for you shouting out your daughter's teacher! This is so helpful for me. Thank you so much! Thank you, Mrs. Webb, from an elementary school teacher in Maryland!!! PS--Emily, you are a teacher, too! You have such an amazing way that you use explaining the application process, the tools to use and WHY! Love this!!!!
I love your channel because you show how the makeup really works. Plus I feel it’s a treat to see your family, so thank you for sharing all that you do. Oh and congrats to Bub on his new practice. 🦋
I remember you and your husband, in your apartment living your life as a couple, before the kids making TH-cam videos. Your channel was and still is a must watch for me regardless of the topic. Thank you for sharing the wonderful life you have built together. A tip I got from you that I have used for years is taking a cotton swab and rolling it under my eyes before setting anything to avoid caking in that area. I do that even if it's just a tinted sunscreen kind of day.
I changed the blending brush and technique for my foundation. The flat brush works great for mature skin. I also started blending my eye shadows with more intention. Thanks 😊
By the way, Allie Glines just released some new blushes from Ravie Beauty that have your name written all over them, especially the bright rasberry one. I'd love to hear your take, if you get them.
Thanks for this! I am 38 and for the past several years I have felt like I no longer know how to do my own dang makeup! I can do foundation and face makeup nicely but my eye makeup is so hard for me. I don’t know what looks good. It’s upsetting honestly! I’ve had some great eye makeup times in my past but after a few years of not having to do my makeup every day (work remotely now), I’ve completely lost all touch with how to properly do it and make it look flattering. ❤
I feel you! This has happened to me since I stopped getting ready every day for work too. I used to be able to do a decent makeup look but not anymore. 🤷🏻♀️ I thought I was alone. We are in it together, I guess. ♥️😂
You are honestly the person who taught me how to do makeup back in 2012. I used your makeup recommendations for some musical productions I was in. I’m grateful for you!
Emily, I love how you’re paying it forward to your girls’ kindergarten teacher by teaching eyeshadow-how lovely😊. And so very relatable & realistic of a tutorial! Thanks for this, for remaining true to YOU & for being such a kind person. It does not go unnoticed❣️❣️
Thank you Mrs Webb! As much Emily as I’ve watched I still love a basic on the go tutorial. It’s so grounding 😂 video idea: updated basic face with all cream products - like the wet n wild bronzer stick, the lazy liner sticks, etc.
I absolutely love this tutorial! I also love that you show us the every day affordable makeup and makeup brushes. This is so good, Emily! Thank you, gorgeous! ❤
Thanks Mrs Webb! 56 and have been doing my makeup since age 15. I can’t wait to follow this with my Sydney Grace Unveiled! I never do all matte, this will be fun!
I’d forgotten how much you’d been the one to teach me how to do my eye makeup until I watched this! 🌻 I will say one thing that we differ on, just in case it helps someone: I find that setting my eyeshadow primer lightly with my face powder can help with blend and longevity. I use NARS eyeshadow primer (the clear/white one) or the Alter Ego one, but for whatever reason setting the primer helps me (which is weird and counterintuitive, but true) Also, if someone starts experiencing random eye irritation: it might be your sponge tip applicators. I never had issues with ones in palettes, but when I’ve bought ones from Amazon, I’ve consistently had irritation. I think it’s a latex allergy, but it was a big issue for me for awhile and hard to track down the source. So I figured I’d mention it if it could help anyone at all. (Apologies for the long comment! ❤)
So online school is going great! I think my daughter has found her groove. She’s in art class right now, so I’m prepping dinner and watching you!!! Your face makes everything better! Can’t wait to see “grown up” eyeshadow especially when then youngins are saying eyeshadow is over! 🤣 ❤ Have a great day sweetie!
I love this tutorial! The way you describe every step i truly believe a beginner could do this without even watching what youre doing, just listen! Such a good look for every day
Thank you for this video and for all your hard work for us. I started watching makeup/ beauty channels about 12 years ago, you are the only channel I still watch. Emily you are the bestest.
Emily, You rocked this! You were able to explain the process so simply & clearly that it seemed like it would be so easy to do! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you so much for this detailed tutorial, using affordable eye makeup recommendations. You are so good at making things understandable and affordable! This disabled veteran appreciates your hard work, positive attitude and integrity! Thank you, Emily! I just ordered that Milani Palette and a matte brown lazy liner from the same line as you used. I am 62 and want to keep the liner matte as well. Thanks again.❤
I have your Easy eye week videos saved in a Playlist on TH-cam. There are good one and two shadow techniques in that series, too. I also liked your video called the Sandwich method. The videos are from a number of years ago. I would recommend those videos to anyone looking for ideas. I've been watching you since 2010 and have enjoyed your honesty and creativity. Thanks for sharing ❤
Absolutely love the inspiration behind this video! And you nailed it! Based on the thumbnail I can see that it is an everyday look but also could wear to any special occasion e.g. wedding guest, business dinner. Great Job Emily! 👏😍
This is the best detailed eyeshadow application video I've honestly ever seen. I been doing my eyes for years and i still be learning great tips from you ❤Great video Em!
What a sweet concept. 😊 I'm a teacher and I am obsessed with makeup. I give myself plenty of time to get ready in the morning because it's therapeutic for me. I don't mind touching up either because I get to use my makeup during the day!
I picked up the Maybelline tint and the revlon flex concealer yesterday. I see now why you like these products. They feel and look so so beautiful on the skin. Have a great rest of the week! ❤
Hi, Emily! Thank you for spelling out all of those steps! I always admired your eye makeup but was never one hundred percent sure how you did it. I’ll have to try your technique tomorrow morning! Thanks to your girls’ teacher, I finally know what you’ve been doing to make your eye makeup look so beautiful.
I love this video. Thank you so much. I'm 65 so I didn't do the dark on the outside of the eye, and did the lighter "khaki" color on the whole lid next to my lashes. Yes to NO mascara on bottom lashes. Again, thanks for the tutorial.
Would LOVE LOVE LOVE if you can do more videos like this one with all the catrice eyeshaddow pallets. I have most of the slimline pallets , always using the same 2 or 3 colours and i dont know how to use the rest!!!! I am totally here for the cream eyeshadow sticks, and I love a good formula. I hope they NEVER go away. I have various brands and most of them have built-in sharpeners. Someday I just build an outlook out of one or two cream eye sticks, and it works.
I was searching your older videos the other day, and I saw 2.5K videos! Thank you for working so hard for us and being truly you! I've been here a long time and I'm still loving you ❤

This video takes me back to when I first discovered your videos many years ago. You are the one that taught me how to do my eyeshadow, and I was using wet and wild walking on eggshells three pan palette, because that's all I felt comfortable using. I also love all your bronzy and nude looks you've been doing. That color scheme really speaks to me. After 42 years I finally discovered that warm neutrals and other fall like colors really work best for my complexion. And that brown wnw blush is awesome. Good choices
I watched your video the other day I think it was called Rose and navy glam look or something like--OMG that was a stunning look!!! Em is so good at eye make up!!! ♥️
This is a great video Emily and I love you explaining in detail how to do eyeshadow because I always love how your eyeshadow look. You are an expert when it comes to eyeshadow and I've always admired the many beautiful looks you've done since I have been watching your videos. Thank you so very much and we love you too Emily.🥰❤💖💗❣🙏🏵🌺🥀💐✌ What a great lesson.
When you said basic eye makeup I was really thinking what used to be your one and done eyeshadow looks 😂 More than 2 eyeshadow colors is too much. Takes too much time and thought if you’re just trying to look like you have eyes before running out the door.
I had a lovely teacher in first grade. My class was her first. It’s wonderful having great teachers we never forget. Once I discovered eye primers it really enhanced my looks. There is nothing better for me than a good quality neutral pallet that helps create a classic look. Thank you Emily for always creating such lovely looks!❤️❤️❤️
