In relationship, we are radically different, as in E Levinas and we are so often disappointed in relationship, or resort to hate and violence ("why should someone like you exist?"). This is culture and psychology and individualism. "if you hurt the least of these, you hurt me" is mutual existence/ mutual arising, nearness; to put oneself into someone shoes is relationship but it is not possible. It is an attempt at empathy. It does not attain. Women may well be experiencing the nearness while men are working on relationship.
