Best corner since Deion and rod Woodson. He did it at the highest level for soooo many years, also a great tackler. He is so underrated because he wasn’t a loudmouth

At 6’1 he ran 4.28 40 and bench pressed 22 reps with 42inch vertical jump in his combine. Champ was a freak and he has a great football knowledge. Him and Clinton Portis trade ended up steal for the denver. Champ is 1st ballot HOF for sure. One of the greatest CB.

Calling him top 5 is an insult. top 2 for sure. No cornerback who has ever played the game was more of a COMPLETE football player than Champ Bailey. Deion could cover, he could get a lot of yards on interceptions, he was fast, etc, but Champ was a true shutdown corner with the smashmouth physicality of a linebacker. He had a lot of picks and pass deflections but the numbers don't tell the true story. There were years where he would get thrown at less than 20 times. Look at these 2006 stats:
2006 Champ Bailey:
Thrown at 35 times, allowed 4 receptions (almost 10% completion rate), defended 21 of those passes, tied for league lead with 10 INTS.
That 2006 season was legendary he should of won Defensive player of the year

Why? Julio only a little smaller and has maintained his speed and quickness longer while always being quicker to change direction. Megatron will always be one of my favorite players but I would take Julio over just about any WR besides Moss

Corners take notes from one of the greatest, he was a top 1-5 corner his whole long career. He said "its not about the cliche of putting hands on a reciever" to throw them off their balance and rough them up. No! when it comes to a fast reciever its better to make your primary focus to stay in front of the reciever so that they wont make big plays.

Champ didn't start covering Reggie until Marvin left. Marvin did get Champ in the 03 playoffs, but Champ got him back in 04 & 06 but Reggie went off both games. Dallas went off in 04 too.
