Excellent walkthrough Gary - great result! Just got the early bird first full release and there are issues that Skylum seem to have grasped early and released a fix. It seems to be OK so fingers crossed that the issues are solved. Once all of the tools are introduced it should make NEO a great eding tool. Just amazed that they haven't included such basic tools as Clone and Stamp and Dodge and Burn which are not new tools....but tools I use regularaly. Oh well, let's hope they don't keep us waiting too long
One of my favourite areas in Glencoe, Garry, just downloaded the final version 1 last night, it seems to be running a lot faster on Windows and really looking forward to getting my teeth into it. Enjoy your break, hope the Weather is a little better further North, if nothing else the Waterfalls will be running beautifully.
Thanks for watching Douglas. Downloading final version tonight as we are home early due to weather, unfortunately, but yes the waterfalls were in full flow 😃👍
did you see we can not save the preset or import export from Luminar AI. also background remover options are still not available. also we can not selected GPU options. no strength slider line luminar AI
@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer Gary -- can you explain how to simply load a single image and leave out EVER using their Library but rather being able to go to my Explorer folders and select and image(s) and edit in NEO? I have had another nightmare of a time after doing the initial install. I finally gave up an did an uninstall and may try again if I can find a simple method of editing images I have on the HDD currently. Their library method is frankly quite useless and seemed to populate with twice as many images as I actually have. I replied to a message they sent to me and got a message that the address did not accept replies. I have commented to a Jim Nix tutorial but I also know that he uses a MAC so thought maybe a creator that uses a PC could let me know if there is a method. I have tried the single edit but can't get an image from Explorer into the editor whereas with innumerable other editing programs I own, the process is simple. I had lots of issues with L2018 but followed all of you guys and have the links saved for every iteration on every topic with great hopes that NEO would work. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA
@@phlotographer hello, yeah I don't use the library feature at all either. I honestly just go to single image edit and bring it in from its location. It's only for the videos that I do this though as it's normally for me anyway, used as a plugin. Sorry I can't be of any help with this. 👍
Dodge and burn along with clone and stamp have not been included in the release for some strange reason....but looking at their road map they - along with some others - are due in the first update
@@NJM1948 Hi, thanks for updating...Since so Dodge and Burn can be done using development section using modification on exposure level with masking ... that will do the trick :)
Marvellous edit Gary (if you were in Australia, it would be bloody marvellous Gazza) Love your slight changes, just enough to show the difference. Editing a photo is an art, so don't worry about your artistic approach. Bytheway. An excellent alternative to photoshop, which uses photoshop's plugins is Affinity Photo. You can buy Affinity Photo outright for about $50 and you get free upgrades. Being an old Adobe subscriber and going to Affinity Photo, was a no brainer, it's as good, if not better than photoshop. Try it for free and I know that you will buy it and say goodbye to the monthly subscription from Adobe. Havagooday Greg
Glad you enjoyed it Greg, thanks for watching. And yeah at some point I'll give affinity a try definitely. I do need ps and lrc though as they work for me plus there's other Adobe packages I use on a daily basis😃👍👍
Hi Gary. Have been using Luminar. Luminar aI, now Neo. I watch Jim Nix. and yourself. But it's great to hear someone I can understand ,I Have been waiting for sometime for a full edit on Neo I'm a Scot from Renfrew though Ive lived in Melbourne for 48 years, is there any chance you could add your location of the photo and some idea of equipment and settings I'm looking forward to your TH-cam videos ps I miss hame
Glad you enjoyed it Ernie and thanks for watching. I'll keep in mind to add the info for the next videos for you. ps hame hasn't changed it's just got milder and wetter😃👍
The software is literally unusable because it is so slow. Even on a new highend pc it is slow. On top the software uses only the processor and not the graphics card. The products of Adobe are much faster.
I wouldn't say it's unusable, I think it's an each to their own scenario when it comes to editing. Some folks like the multifaceted photoshop and it's ability to do whatever you can imagine, myself included. Whereas other folks like a straightforward approach to get the end result they are after. It's down to the individual 😃👍
Beautiful, Neo looks the best version from Skylum so far. Always enjoy watching you edit, thanks
Thanks again for watching Victor, glad you enjoyed this one😃👍
Thanks again for watching Victor, glad you enjoyed it 😃👍
Thank you, Gary, teaching a 79 years old man, how to use Luminar Neo.
Glad you enjoyed it Charles, many thanks for watching😃👍👍
Great content as always. I really enjoy these full edits.
Many thanks again for watching Mark, glad you enjoy them as there's another one coming next week 😃👍

Sweet edit! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching Rebecca, glad you enjoyed it 😃👍
Excellent Gary always enjoy your tutorials keep up the good work thank you
Many thanks again for watching Andy. Another one next week as I have an image from today I'd like to try in luminar neo 😃👍👍
A great tutorial Gary. Keep them coming

Thanks so much for your great tutorial.
Beautiful edit, really helped me.
great video on neo Gary, i really need to use the mask tool for editing certain areas rather than the whole image, great help for me as always.
Thanks for watching Phil, glad you enjoyed it 😃👍
Great treatment. I would like to know what type of screen you work with?
Thanks for watching Daniel. It's a BENQ monitor. I'll add full spec of machine and monitors to next weeks video 😃👍
Brilliant Gary.
Do you use the built in camera profiles at all, also, Is this a Windows or Mac version ?
Many thanks Alec, glad you enjoyed it. This is the windows version😃👍

I noticed that as soon as you touched anything in Enhance, the RAW indicator disappeared. Does that mean from its working on a RGB layer from now on?
nice yours is working but alot of complaints of program not launching, including my own
Sorry to hear that Daniel. I actually had the same issue until I uninstalled then reinstalled, since that though everything has worked👍
Good tip on how to prevent the halos.
Glad you found it useful Norma, thanks for watching 😃👍
Is the one that’s out currently the early access one or is it the final release.
Nice review, but seems that Dodge and Burn tool as in Luminar AI has not been included in Neo, wich is in my opinion pretty bad ... Am I wrong ?
Many thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. I've still to try the full release(just downloaded last night) but will let you know😃👍

Very great walk through. I just downloaded Neo and coming from Luminar 4, there are some differences. I really like seeing your process.
Glad you enjoyed it Jason, thanks for watching. Should be another raw edit next week as I got an image today I'd like to try with luminar neo😃👍👍

Not a lot of changes from Luminar

Thanks for watching Elsie, glad you enjoyed it 😃👍
I think this could have also been achieved in Luminar AI or even Luminar 4. But a great edit regardless.
Thanks again for watching Berham and yes could easily have been achieved with them 😃👍
I wish to have the power to delete that kind of "tutorials"
Really appreciate you watching, thank you😃👍👍
