They wrote this for the movie “the fault in our stars “ a beautiful and tragic movie about 2 teenagers with cancer. Still remember hearing this and M83’s “Wait” in the theater, got me so emotional.
I heard this song when it first came out and it grabbed my heart...but THIS Dublin performance grabbed my soul. I was on the edge of tears with you around the 3:25 too. Loved your reaction! Thanks for this!
I really did Beth! You definitely pointed out some amazing vocal and musical aspects but you genuinely provided your own personal emotional experience with it, which is RARE with vocal reactions and we need more of this in our lives lol Keep doing amazing things!
My favourite live song of theirs is the acoustic performance of Worth It, sung in a beautiful castle in Portugal. My favourite Kodaline song however, is Brother; the music video combined with the song really get to me.
Celtic music is well known for its beautiful melodies which easily lend themselves to anthemic expression, something the Scots are particularly adept at as well as the Irish. This song reminds me of "Wild Mountain Thyme" which can be sung as a heart-on-the-sleeve intimate ballad or roared out as an over-the-top anthem, a dynamic range that makes Celtic music so appealing.
Man, I remember when the album "In a Perfect World" dropped as vinyl, I never bought anything so quickly. This came out 3 days before my dad passed and shortly after my girlfriend at the time and I broke up. It felt like the perfect album to describe what was going on in my life at the time. This one's definitely dear to my heart.
Hey Beth, I know I've been absent for a while (lots of "interesting" stuff happening in my life - causing a few problems), but you came across my feed and I realized my negligence of those I truly appreciate. By the way, thanks for the music that is new to me once again. Have a great week.
I would love to hear you react to I think is the best female singer in the last 55 years in Phyllis Hyman singing "Living All Alone" or "Meet Me On the Moon"

I am very happy for you - "Wicked Game" is hauntingly beautiful - in my 'opinion' - 2nd to no other cover I've heard including Diana Ankudinova's. The production is also awesome.
Never get tired of listening to celtic Irish music...to me, it always has a melodic sound of mourning...a special tone all its own. I hear it with this band. Being part welsh/scot...I don't get the same sense of melancholy. Maybe it's just my ears.
There's a video of this that I go to when I'm feeling down as it reminds me of the days I played open mics and it always turned into a jam. Terrible audio quality but it's Kodaline with a bunch of their musician friends (Gavin James, Hudson Taylor, Orla Gartland) singing the song in a pub in Ireland th-cam.com/video/CATQuUMhoSk/w-d-xo.html

Great song! Strangely though, I hear undertones of Pink Floyd Sheep in the drums and bass. So cool to have that fusion. Anyone else feel this as well? Amazing song. Thanks Beth!
Love this song and his way of using the voice and the lyrics. I would love to hear you react to the swedish group:Hoffmaeistro - Highwayman th-cam.com/video/xftXg7hf0O4/w-d-xo.html

Not true. Steven Garrigan wrote this song inspired by a then-recent break-up. Hard die Kodaline fan here. 🤣

u have to react to their live acoustic performances while walking the streets in different countries
You should react to the live version of Unclear they did during the Covid, it's simple magnific 😅
U are better than music, love ❤️ 😍

Hello Beth, could you listen to The Good, Bad, and the Ugly I believe it was performed by a Danish orchestra and choir it is quite unique.
Good song
What are your thoughts on Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins? Maybe you could provide a commentary? I have always loved her voice.
Here you go :) th-cam.com/video/Mk-L-JlhJGM/w-d-xo.html

Bit over the years his voice got so many voice cracks live :/
Call me crazy but i like and prefer more Steve McCrorie version of this he performed at The Voice UK
His VoiceUK and studio versions are absolutely superb…
Personally I didn’t like it but it’s probably because I’ve been listening to this (original) since it came out
not my jam
Be sure to listen to the artist, who is considered one of the most powerful voices in the world. " Selda bagcan - Ayrilik " pls reaction
