Problem that I see (I’m not a Tesla fan) is if you’re playing the AI story, other companies are simply better. TSLA is a wait and see story. If you have money that just sitting in a stock, fine. Most people want appreciation of their money. Also, the valuation of TSLA is of a really strong growth company, not a company that’s been stagnant. I’d much rather have money in NVDA - AMZN - Broadcom - and other profitable companies.

People are valuing the company as if it’s not a car company. Hence my argument that they need to sell way more than cars to have a value where it currently stands. Also, almost a third of all EVs are sold in California. They still haven’t figured out all the charging and cold weather issues. This might change, but having your money in TSLA right now is dead money in my opinion.
Tesla is a disruptive growth company and hence seems inflated on books. If you believe in the disruptive technology and future, then invest in this company for a longer horizon, I will say in years. For short term play on the stock one can do protective puts.

There's two topics here, the cars and the software and in both cases Tesla is far ahead of any competitors. Chinese cars are cheaper but they don't have the performance of Teslas Waymo is doing great with LIDAR based geo fenced cars but they're too expensive to buy. Plus their system is really only good if you can map the entire area the car will use. Tesla FSD is affordable and will ultimately work anywhere due to their use of AI rather than hardware. It would be unwise to bet against Tesla's strategy long term.

Production by 2027, as Elon says, means that there won't be any profits from it for at least two years after. There's a ramp up. Where it's nothing but losses. So we're looking at 2030 now before any of this starts to hit earnings.

Nobody understands how much of a lead Tesla has on training data. All other mfgs are going to end up licensing Teslas fsd software
A Tesla can’t even properly park itself, doesn’t matter how clever the system is. The outcome is not convincing.
You don't need humans driving physical vehicles to train a model. You can simulate variable situations at a much larger scale using only software.
