Even though I've been playing highlander hunter for like the last year, I agree, they are way too swingy - I think it'd be cool if you could more consistently get payoff cards but for less value, like how Pure pally has (up to) 5 payoff cards so you can reasonably draw one even in a fast game
It's not that crazy when it's only 1 copy and you are willing to hard mulligan for it. With just normal draws you have a 51% to draw one copy by turn 6/5 (first/second) and by turn 9/8 its 65% (when you could play Alexstrasza without mana ramp). If you took the time to factor in mulligan and/or some card draw, the odds are in your favor for drawing at least 1 by the time youd want to play a highlander card. The only exception is if you are desperate early and need Zephrys, but that should mainly be against aggro. Edit: I came to a realization that my math doesn't factor in C'thun at all. C'thun will raise the odds because your deck has 29 cards before the game starts, and then lower the chances after the pieces are shuffled in.
@@PopeMical The card is good mostly on the early game and also requires you to have a dragon. With only 6 dragons in the deck, it can't possibly be worth it to ruin your highlander deck for it
@@PopeMical yeah the math says he draws it but what does the math say about losing every time he doesn’t vs the number of games he wins because he had a second copy. I mean that is much harder math but I feel like it is pretty easy to guesstimate that the second copy doesn’t help as much as not activating his highlander hurts him.
@@dragonlogos1 It's actually pretty hard to say due to the nature of different match ups. If matches are slow the disabling of highlander doesn't matter as much due to you wanted to play them late game anyways. If they are fast matches only Zephry matters and with him being 1 card it's hard to rely on it even if it's super strong. I personally think that the second breath isn't worth it but I also don't think it's wrong to run a second copy if you value high rolling an early breath. (for reference the second breath roughly doubles the odds to draw breath by turn 6)

Dragon Queen is kinda bad if your deck has this much value, and if he had 2 overflow he would draw quick enough to use Zeph anyway if he wanted to. I think this deck is a cool idea but 2xOvergrowth / 2xOverflow is too good to pass up imo

My thought is the opposite. Pick the one you don't want, because it increases the odds of having the card you want in hand next turn. Say you want the lower cost, if you pick less then you have a equally likely of having at least one lower cost in hand next turn. If you pick more then you have a equally likely chance of it costing more. If it costs less, then you know your top deck next turn will be a card you want. If it costs more it means you have another chance at drawing a card you want the next turn Now if you are really behind and need two cards that you want to win it's better to gamble.
How the fuck does zephrys know to give you silence for abyssal enforcer but doesn't know to give me hex or polymorph for the opponent's rattlegore when I have 8 mana to spare

So my only question is, if you are worried about drawing ramp, why not play wild growth instead of a second copy of breath? That way you still have the same chances of drawing a ramp spell, but you don't run the risk of shutting down the highlander cards.
Idk how often it ruined things for him on stream but faux highlander actually makes sense in druid. Double Hyena was bad because Hunter wanted the tempo from his highlander cards :P
i run this deck except the 2 old gods i havent crafted yet. i run ysera and the legendary giving u a solar and moon eclipse intresting to see how old god works out if it better then my vers :D
Man the 3rd match summarises the hearthstone meta. The demon hunter is so busted it dealt more than 70 damage, cleared all the board an missed lethal only with two damage even trump performed so well. Immediate nerf is needed for dh
How often have I tried Highlander Druid since I unpacked golden Elise and how often have I realized its just not remotely playable in ranked^^ No hard removal, not enough ramp, dissynergies(Ysera vs Duplicates), way too little small removal to fight off super aggro, no easy big board creations like other classes have (Cenarion Ward helps a bit) and if you ever lose board advantage youre just straight up dead (Zeph might save you once)
I play yogg, elise, jepetto, y' (for moonlight amulet or whatever the fuck it's called, the only card I play twice) and cthun. I usually end the game with 20 health and 50 armor and hit face with 32 damage (the second y'sharaj copies the cards you played with the previous one aswell, it doesn't give you an additional one for casting one with solar eclipse)
Man when Trump played the second Ysera instead of the double moon touched I hoped he would have gotten punished imo it is a lot less unlikely he gets to the lethal there then you would imagine.
The two breaths of dreams decrease this deck's win rate by a lot. I had way more success just running one copy of it The reason: if not drawn spheres is not available for a pinch. The amount of time that this screw me over is way more then it helped me

You have no hard draw to refill, flood or drain the Ysera cards out your deck. It works in old highlander as a finnisher or a refill you dont need either in this deck.
Trump had the God draw against Soul Shards DH, so much armor and still almost died. DH has too much damage and card draw, also difficult to interact as most of the damage comes from weapons attacks.

Make a good non highlander deck highlander and then still put copies into it. Madman.
