When you think of it,Joel has the most emotionally wrecked of all lives during this outbreak. Lost his partner Tess(he had to leave her to her death),lost his daughter ,wife dead,20 years living without his brother and just fighting for survival every single day...thats damn difficult for any human.. I love how the first game just doesn't make Joel the big hero...he did his fair share of killings and which ultimately bit him big at the end..but all those were justified....Hell every single person in the first game had justified actions,as everyone just wanted to... survive,or protect something/someone
Just finished my first play through of this masterpiece and I clocked in at 32 Hours. God Of War 4 didn’t even take me as long in terms of initial play through. This game was such a rollercoaster of emotions. Naughty Dog knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. Honestly felt like I was in the actual game. I dreamt about it in my sleep lol.
From the emotional outrage people are having, I feel that shows how well Naughty Dog built up the character of Joel in the first game. Gamers and viewers have such a strong connection to him, it makes you really empathize with Ellie.

Awesome World of Music abby shouldve never sought revenge . joels daughter got shot to death when it was supposed to be him . he wasnt going to lose another little girl . “revenge is a fools game” . joel may have started it , but abby brought it further , especially after joel saved her life

If everything went the way we'd like The last of us part 1 and 2 wouldn't exist because we didn't sarah to die in the first place. Anyway, this death is important and it gives the story a new purpose. This game IS special because it is able to bring us out of our confort zone. It is the best game of all time because it made us and will make us sad, happy , mad and more. These sad and touching events make tge game special and amazing.

Part of me thinks another factor in Joel making the choice he made was his lack of faith in humanity. He more than likely believed that if things went back the way they were. It would only be a matter of time before consumerism, corruption, greed, bigotry, and sexism would rule the world again. He also was probably thinking that if the world went back to the way it was. He wouldn't be useful to it anymore, he would probably felt the same way the Winchester brothers from Supernatural feel or the Gallaghers from Shameless. Both groups can't function in normal society so they create chaos either willingly or by mistake
the clickers don't scream for random reasons, its their way of seeing if theres someone there when no sound is being made so if you're within a certain distance infront of them when they scream they'll detect you and obviously try attacking you
X Æ A-12 Musk the ending wouldve been so good if she actually killed abby and then realized it was all for nothing while she played the guitar but nope they had to mess that up too
everyone keeps throwing around “bad writing” without explaining it, Joels death was believable, suited the mood and themes of the game, where Ellie’s story and the the game as a whole had to go in the sequel and the ending, which is also more “bad writing” that really tied the whole thing together. This game is also part 2 of a whole story(Ellie’s story) a 3 part series, and it makes sense for the darkest most depressing part of it to be here in the middle, which I’m thankful for because it means the sequel might be less bleak. Ellie’s learned her lesson the hard way but is ultimately haunted by what has been done to her and what she had done. She’s lost everything,( friends and family, the ability to play guitar, her vengeance, her home, the cure)at the end and has to regain her purpose and a sense of who she is. It is kind of a non-ending, the whole point of the game, killing Abby, doesn’t happen however that also happened in the 1st game, no vaccine is created. But instead of gaining a home and father, again, Ellie has lost everything, which is a cool way to flip the first ending on it’s head.
I like how Trevor just does whatever he wants these days. Uploads what he wants. Does series that he enjoys. Trys new things. Been watching since the launch of Modern Warfare 3

This looks like a PS2 game compared to RDR2. Genuinely thought my wifi quality dropped when Joel and Tommy were riding through the "stunning" countryside. To all intents and purposes the game looks great, it's just comically underwhelming.

This looks like a PS2 game compared to RDR2. Genuinely thought my wifi quality dropped when Joel and Tommy were riding through the "stunning" countryside. To all intents and purposes the game looks great, it's just comically underwhelming.
