Pooh Bear doesn't give a sh*t about these protests. He just wants Hong Kong to fix its own problems and stop bringing them to China, a country that has 1.4 billion more problems other than Hong Kong. Hong Kong's biggest problem, the housing supply, has nothing to do with China and is purely poor local planning and regulation. If you read Chinese news, you will know that Xi and his cabinet have actually publicly rebuked Hong Kong's real estate moguls for monopolising the housing market and screwing over the working class. I think Xi really should publicly rebuke Hong Kong's government directly for allowing it to happen, but I guess even Xi doesn't want to throw too many people under the bus.
I'm terribly sorry for seeing this video because it doesn't give the audiences many perspectives. Hong Kong is a city which people enjoy many aspects of freedom. They have rights for protests, speech, assemblies but at the same time, need to fulfill their responsibility as civil citizens. Protesters brutally beated people whose beliefs are different them, violently smashed the windows and egregiously set the buildings on fire. They have never remorseful on their irresponsible acts but keep demandings for no charges. They persuaded the other countries for sanctions to Hong Kong and attempted to overturn the current constitutional system of Hong Kong.
It's frustrating to see these exaggerations and falsehoods spread about Hong Kong which I hold dear, but sadly it's part of the global geopolitics. Us true Hong Kongers must wait for the atmosphere to cool down and people to forget this ugly episode. More importantly, the HKSAR must alleviate the housing supply problem, or else this type of unrest will come again and again.
Please use ur brain, they only implemented a National Security Law, one every country has. The only time when some one is oppose to National Security Law is when they want to breach national security.

The problem was, proximity of Hong Kong with mainland . First of all they are too much dependent on China .. from power to water everything is from China . Second , anything happening in Hong Kong will effect mainland China esp when so many mainlanders live in Hong Kong. So if government of China appeared weak with Hong Kong , it would effect their control over mainland .. And hongkongers also crossed limit when they started to boo national song and burn flag of China and all.. anyway , hopefully everything gets resolved peacefully
the ccp really cant be delt with peacefully, they dont follow any treaaties or laws, theyre a dictatorship who doesnt care about individuals/minorities
Hong Kong has been dependent on China even when it belonged to Britain. Everything Hong Kong has ever had, from the 1800s to now, is by goodwill from both China and Britain.
This is so sad and depressing, I have been working with people in Hong Kong for many years, now the world is slowly losing a free city over to a controlling government that will locked it away like the rest of China.
You'll probably end up working with more and more people from Shanghai or Beijing, cities that are less "troublesome" to China. Hong Kong was useful when China was poor and lacking in experience, and now they are neither.

Hong Kongers are not being "exiled," the people who organised riots are skipping bail and claiming political asylum because they know the cops are gonna come after them for wrecking the city.
China has already sent agents to Hong Kong. A lot of them. If before they were watching you passively from afar, now they are watching you directly from next door. They can capture anyone who is assumed to break nsl. Leave political issues or leave Hong Kong. That's a choice right now. All I can say for those who are thinking of making more protests to come. It is up to the people of Hong Kong to rise up and defend their human rights when threatened by totalitarianism. Its always been like this since the dawn of time. They talk a big talk about China, but these cowardly "protesters" were the ones who took away our freedoms. A few even attempted to doxx me on Facebook. These rioting losers are a disgrace to democracy and freedom, and I sincerely hope they get the book thrown at them.
@@canto_v12 Let's agree to disagree here. Yes, some protesters totally over did it by breaking quite a few laws, but what you mentioned there are edge cases. I can show you 100 videos where peaceful protesters were beaten up to a pulp by some unidentified cops/pro-China thugs. So what? What does it really prove? Nevertheless, when you say the protesters took away your "freedoms", that's just purely horseshit. You had little to no freedoms to begin with. You can't vote for your leader or any policies that directly effect your life (the Chinese extradition law for example is why this whole movement started); You are also stripped away your other basic human rights such as freedom of speech/expression, rights to assemble/trails, equal rights before a court, and much more. You think you "got your life back"? You just don't know yet man, sooner or later there will be an internet firewall for HK too, and then people like you start to panic, but it's too late.
@@canto_v12 You also are lacking basic understandings of what democracy and freedom means. You want to live like a muppet and do/say EXACTLY what the Chinese government allows you to? "You can't vote for your leader or any policies that directly effect your life " This is so patently false that I don't know where to begin. HK's District Councils manage day-to-day affairs and policies of each district and they are all elected. As for the Chief Executive, we had more than one chance to get Hong Kong's first generally elected leader, and we squandered all of them. Remember, Britain never offered this and China is waiting for us to prove that we can handle it. So far, we have demonstrated repeatedly that we can't. The first reform package to produce a directly elected leader was voted DOWN by the pro-democracy legislators, don't forget to thank them for screwing us! And please, tell me how our "freedom of expression" is gone since my friends and I rag on the HKSAR government all the time--we are just able to do it without promoting treason and secession. Funny how they skip over protestor that attacked random people on the street and subways, how they skip them burning police stations. When HongKong was taken away by the British and finally returned after years after fighting, the deal was for China to gain full control back over a 50years period. “While you actually don’t know what should be like to live like people in China, and xinjiang”, like people actually live in a prison there or something, like they think China is still the way it is backed in the cultural revolution or something, they need to see for themselves, these ideas are too outdated. “All you can do is wait and hope for the world leaders to see that CCP is the evil”? I can’t even anymore, without the CCP and the whole of China that backed it up, China would still be colonized by the western countries, by the Japanese, that’s why the Taiwanese government then united with CCP to fight them off, because even they are politically opposed, it was nothing compared to the invasion of homeland. Go see China for yourself people, go there and meet them, not through the lenses of media but actually go there and see for yourselves.

Damn, someone get Pooh Bear a pot of honey. Mans is wildin
More importantly, the HKSAR must alleviate the housing supply problem, or else this type of unrest will come again and again.
it makes sense to me that china keep Hong Kong as an independent state. it is an autonomous state already. long live Hong Kong!

China has already sent agents to Hong Kong. A lot of them. If before they were watching you passively from afar, now they are watching you directly from next door. They can capture anyone who is assumed to break nsl. Leave political issues or leave Hong Kong. That's a choice right now. All I can say for those who are thinking of making more protests to come. Please don't waste your time in jail when you are young. That's not worth it. The world is big, so travel while you can.
@Prun lol do you really think they can win that fight. No western country is gonna help because its in china's backyard. They are the boss there. RIP hong kong! The coronapandemic killed any last chance they had. All media coverage was gone after pandemic hit.
Hong Kong was stolen by the British. So this land belongs to China after the 100 year treaty ended. If you don't like it here you can leave, just like what Trump said.
I hate to break it to you, but China sent thousands of soldiers into Hong Kong on 1 July 1997.
It is up to the people of Hong Kong to rise up and defend their human rights when threatened by totalitarianism. Its always been like this since the dawn of time. We cannot rely on politicians to do what is right, that is why we have to do it for ourselves and those we love. Giving back HK to China instead of giving it independence for nationhood is one of many mistake done by the British in the Asian hemisphere. HK no longer wants to part of China and such has the right to be an independent nation. Long Live to HK's Democracy and its pursuit for independence.

No Chinese audio / Chinese subtitle = No Chinese shills. Isn't that lovely?
No it isn't. I'm a HK American who spends a fair amount of time in Hong Kong. It's no joke when rioters tell us where to eat (and threaten to assault people patronising the "wrong" cafe), when I can and cannot board a train, and what I can and cannot say in their presence. They talk a big talk about China, but these cowardly "protesters" were the ones who took away our freedoms. A few even attempted to doxx me on Facebook. The national security laws are a little overbearing, but at least we can have our lives back, feed our families and pay our rent.
That's fine, good for you. But for those who actually care about their "freedom", who want their kids to be able to think/speak/act freely instead of just "do as the communist party say", they chose to stand up.
Please at least understand the cause of the movement before shitting on them based on individual cases.
@@samuelshen3071 "Let's agree to disagree here," proceeds to tell *me* what *my* home and life are like. You tried to label yourself as non-condescending but that was condescending as hell.
While you're at it, please also show me a country where riot police *don't* beat rioters into a bloody mess.
@@canto_v12 1. You wanted to use individual edge cases where your so-called "rioters" disrupted your life, I agreed with you there that some protesters went over the board. Right there we had a small agreement there.
2. I didn't (or at least wasn't trying to) label myself as non-condescending. In fact, the moment you labeled protesters as "a disgrace to democracy and freedom", you lost all respect to me.
3. You love to use the term "riot", but does that really apply to the hundreds of thousands of people who protested? You do understand that many of these peaceful protesters/citizens were also attacked by the "riot police" or some pro-Chinese thug too ya? Do I need to remind you of 612 or 831? There are footages everywhere.
4. They are all elected....except pro-democracy candidates, because they typically get disqualified, or even arrested. That's one hell of a "free election" isn't it?
5. I did say "sooner or later" didn't I? You still can "rag about it" atm, but can you still say the same in 10 years? 20 years? China is already heavily censoring all non pro-Chinese speech and media. It hasn't applied to you yet, doesn't mean it won't in the near future. Do remember China bans most major Western social media like Google and Facebook. So, enjoy your time while you still can?
Can law and order be brushed away since it is now acceptable everywhere on the planet?

Funny how they don't dare attack the Chinese army given that they hate China so much! The local Chinese army headquarters is right in the middle of Central District.
