On the way to mountain biking in Moab with some friends (4/30/23), I said we have to stop by the Goosenecks State Park that I saw on the Cactus Atlas video. On the way the guys were saying I don't see anything and then all of a sudden there it was and we were all blown away. Also saw the Mexican hat, Forest Gump hill, and drove up the Moki-Dugway switchbacks. Thanks for the awesome tip! Would have never stopped if it wasn't for this video. Love these videos!

That whole area is so amazing. The last time we went through Mexican Hat there was a place that cooked steaks on a swinging grill. Somehow the theory was that the swinging made the steaks taste better. Always regret not stopping to eat there.
While you are a good drone user, others are not and the few always spoil it for the many. Can't someplace just be enjoyed for it's quiet, non-mechanized/motorized characteristics?
Wow, what a great way to start the trip! I love the drone footage, so keep it up!! That is SO crazy how that rock is balanced up there, but an amazing view! As far as the cottage/cabin goes, yes it was cute, but I'm 100% positive Amy was glad to be home. All those beans in that small area....not good, not good at all 🤣🤢
🤣 That's what the other room is for. Close the door and problem be gone. 😂 All jokes aside, that balanced rock confounds me. I've been going through that drone footage Glenn shot over and over astounded at how crumbly the base looks between the two rocks yet there it sits.
Really great video Glen! That goosenecks overlook has my photographer's eyes wanting to take a landscaper/panoramic shot! Love the drone on the Mexican Hat, I haven't watched a video yet that captured it that well. I've been down the Forest Gump rd...been in that area of Ut a couple of times in recent years but have yet to travel there since really discovering my talent and love for photography...excited for the next one in this chapter! (And awwwwww...Kitty!)
Love the angles/shots that the drone’s can reach…..spectacular footage! Utah is beautiful….my favorite state! Rescue the kitty…..he/she needs a good home:)
I went through here in October of last year, but we skipped Goose Necks and went up the Moki Dugway to the Muley Point area. I was also bummed about not being able to use my drone, but we took a side trail off to the west and got into an area with good views that was out of the no-fly zone. Edit: 38:00 here's a good tip for everyone, most RV campgrounds will have showers you can pay a small fee to use. There is one in Moab I use a lot that is $8. Slightly pricey but worth it if you are dispersed camping and not having to pay any camping fees.
I know some Utah state parks give permits out to fly drones at certain times of the year (Goblin Valley, Dead Horse Point, etc). We did just that at Goblin Valley. Great advice about the showers! Appreciate it! 👍

I love your drone shot of Mexican Hat Rock. I've driven past it at least a dozen times and really love your truely unique view. I have lived in Western Colorado for the last 40 plus years and consider anything east of the Colorado River as "my canyons". You mention the Colorado National Park and from where you are you could end up in my home town. Maybe....no spoilers please. Depends how much you like snow as the snow pack has been exceptional this year. You need to like crooked roads too between my house & Colorado National Park, I remember cutting somebody off on Main Street recently..white truck, AZ plates. Guy gave me the finger and you seem ultra polite so I doubt it. I was in the gray F-150 I've seen a great bumper sticker which sort of sums things up around here...."you're on vacation...I'm not". Looking forward to your next installment.

Came across your page while planning a road trip to Utah. Great videos for my research. When I first heard your voice I thought it was SUV Rving channel. Keep on traveling. Also...I don't mind drones.
At Goosenecks, if you turn south (to the left as you enter the checkin station) you'll find the road continues on for what i think is about a mile along the rim. There are many many "dispersed" (now that you've paid your $5 fee) campsites there. At Mexican Hat the so called "dispersed" camping with a fee is actually on private land. There are many also on public (BLM) land - you'll need something like Gaia GPS mapping to determine which is which.
We would have loved to have camped at Goosenecks but were mostly scouting on this trip since we had lodging/camping plans for the rest of the trip (which sadly went off the rails a bit 😅). We had scouted dispersed camping online before the trip and pinned them on a map as backups. If I recall the Mexican Hat camping location has a restroom/outhouse of sorts..?
Love the drone footage! Your videos are very helpful too. As a tent camper myself, id weigh the corners down with rocks. Such beautiful views. Its probably worth the maguyvering 😄

DJI Mini 3 Pro drone is really quiet. You can't hear it 100 feet away. It is not at all annoying to most people. And because it is small, it can fly and photograph the scene without being noticed.
I have one and this is true, but there are still areas you can't fly by law. National Parks and Monuments are usually no-go. However, you can apply for a permit.
Drones are already registered. I think a limited number of drone permits (say 5 a day) should be alloted for areas like gooseneck. They aren't nearly as bad as when they first came out, and allowing just a couple would be no big deal. Maybe a tag system, where you purchase your tag, and return it later that day to a local BLM or USDA station.
It would be really nice. Not sure about Goosenecks since we didn't go back, however, there are other Utah state parks which allow them if you buy a $10 permit. 😉🤫
I feel drones should be allowed unless there's wildlife that could be harmed, I don't like screaming little kids when I'm there you know like a little Billy in his red sweater is in my photograph. It's all in your perspective I guess. And yes I have drones.
I can understand the need for some regulation to keep the public safe but it would be nice if some parks had designated areas or permits for drone flying. I get it though.

did anyone update you on Drones in Utah state parks? Between November 1st and the last day of February of each year, drone use is permitted by permit only. Permits cost $10 per day and forms may be obtained online or at the visitor center. I absolutely love your videos. I'm driving with a friend from Phoenix to Chicago at the end of the month. Your videos are great help in the planning process. Thank you.

I believe I was the one who mentioned the jangling keys… and now I feel a little bad. Who am I to complain about these free high-quality videos when the only thing I’ve ever posted are shaky videos of my dog?! Haha. Thanks for fixing the keys, but please know that your work is mostly perfect and so enjoyable to watch. Side note: my dad lost a drone to a bird of prey so be careful flying if you see big birds in the sky…. And get the insurance!
Oh no! Don't feel bad at all. We took no offense and are always appreciative when people mention things that can improve our videos (so long as they do it nicely or constructively which you did). They keys were something we both noticed when filming as well as editing. 😊 We've seen birds attack drones in the past. Haven't necessarily seen one fall because of an attack (yikes!) but keep an eye out for sure.
I have my keys on a separation ring so when I go off roading and am filming I can remove most of them. Even if I'm not filming I typically remove them as it drives me crazy. 😅
Don't want the landscape littered with drones that crash in areas where the owners can't retrieve them or get into situations where they need to be rescued.

Oh we'd rescue just about any cat we come across if we could. Our cats here might not agree with the sentiment though. 😅

Our trips tend to be a little different than the norm due to filming being the primary focus
