While I rarely comment, I greatly enjoy all of the content you put out on TH-cam. I'm really looking forward to your Hovenweep video. I visited 25 national parks and monuments over 10 weeks last summer, and always surprise people when I place Hovenweep near the top of my list of favorites. I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed it, to the point where I was sad I had only allocated a few hours to it. There's so many other places to see, but I definitely hope to get back there some day. Anyway, I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks for all the informative content you put out!
Thank you also! Hovenweep will be released next week. Glenn also had a very positive experience while visiting. We've gone to a great many locations with old structures but Hovenweep was so unlike anything we've seen before. 👍
I've been holding my breath more often since you got that new truck Glenn. So very glad you didn't drive over those river crossings. But I'm a 69 year old retired female, lol. I really feel like we are riding along with you in the passenger seat. You have been a little more "chatty" these past few videos. Thank you both for the huge amount of time you put into your content. 😊
Thank you so very much! Thankfully Glenn isn't too much of a risk taker with the truck. 👍 He's definitely a chatty guy and I know talking to everyone via video keeps him sane on longer trips. I've been trying to balance the adventure and scenery here and there with a bit more of a personal touch. 😅
Getting stuck in one of those washes wouldn't be fun. A quick story I have, is in 2020 no one was renting cars so the rental companies had some good deals. I decided I'd rent a car with 4 wheel drive to go film a video out in the desert. I get to the rental place and they say "we upgraded you to a Mercedes" and I was like "I'm not sure you want to do that." I ended up taking it, began this long dirt road into the desert, about 15 miles or so in there is a chain across the road with a sign saying the Anza Borrego Desert Park was closed because of the pandemic. I ended up going somewhere else and doing a different video. A great reason you should never buy a used rental though.
Ah yes. We're familiar with those rental days a couple years back as well. Both our cars at the time were small two door vehicles not capable of carrying much. Definitely had an experience or two taking a rental in what turned out to be some questionable places. 😂
There is never a bad time for Iron Maiden on any road trip. (80s Maiden, specifically). I am, however, quite amused at you not quite realizing you were at the Colorado River, though. Incidentally, on a future trip, you should keep following that state highway along the Colorado River. It'll eventually lead you back to I-70 but it's incredibly beautiful and fun to drive.
Great video! Really looking forward to the Hovenweep video. I requested seeing inside the tent to see some of your gear so thank you for that quick overview! We’ve had record snowfall in Utah and now record snowmelt so I’m not surprised you’re seeing a lot of water around. Thanks Glenn and Amy!
We had a good bit of snow and rain in Arizona too. I'm STILL getting flood watch notifications on my weather app here and there so I can only imagine what Utah has been experiencing with the snow melt. Wish the tent bit a bit better lit in daylight but I know Glenn had an extremely busy day filming multiple episodes. 😅
Another great video, I’m really thankful that I discovered your channel. I live in Utah and have visited many of these places but I find it interesting to hear another person’s evaluation of our beautiful surroundings. I’m also a Jackery owner, and really enjoy having portable power on demand. I try to keep all my necessary cords and accessories in one bag so that nothing important gets left behind. Looking forward to viewing all your videos as I find the time. Thank you,
We're glad you found us too. 😊 Not a bad idea about keeping all cords in a bag. Normally it's not a problem. On that particular instance the cable was in another car and just didn't make it inside with the other gear after the trip it was used on. 😅
Love that you were listening to Luxury Liner! (💗 GP/ISB) Also saw your video at the Joshua Tree Inn! We just did a southwest road trip in June hitting Zion, Monument Valley, Santa Fe, Sedona and Joshua Tree (also stayed at the Inn). That was our first trip to the SW and cannot wait to return! And now we have a long list of new things to explore thanks to your videos 😊 Well done!
You're such a tease. You looked like you were going to "thread the needle" with the drone and back out...oh my heart sank! Can't wait for the future videos!!
Smart move, better safe then sorry. No idea how deep or how sandy it was. There was no recent track through that,no water tracking up. 😮 Great video! The quality in your video WOW ,love the music 🎶
Agree. Without seeing someone actually cross to gauge the depth, the amount of info to know if crossing is safe to do solo, it's just not worth it. Not when that day wasn't even halfway into this particular trip and lots of places to be. 👍 Thanks so much for the comment and feedback! We appreciate it. 😊
When I traveled to the Wedge, I was totally blown away by what I saw. I have lived in Utah my entire life and I had never even heard of this place. The Little Grand Canyon is exactly what I was thinking at the time. This is a place that every adventurer should visit. Your videos are great by the way!
Around a year ago, my family and I also decided to stop by in that kind of unnoticeable but pretty park which is very close to the Arches. Vey nice park to rest. Amazing views. Your video brought me good memories about our trip. It was very hot though, over an hundred that day. Thanks for sharing! 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As far as gravel road explorations go.. The ONION CREEK gravel road that runs by the Fisher Towers was our favorite.. Epic views with easy creek crossings that Slim would handle easily 👌.. When traveling alone you really have to be good at risk assessment. Many of the areas in southern Utah have no cell signal so if you get stuck you only have yourself to rely on. Which is why you should always take gallons of water and a weeks worth of food. I got stuck in the snow recently in Northern Arizona. There was no one around. Fortunately I had a shovel and kitty litter. Took awhile but dug myself out. Just gotta keep a cool head and have heaps of patience. Try to prepare for all scenarios. Shovels, traction boards, tire repair kit, inflator, straps, snow chains, tools.
Awesome video! Glenn your road trip adventures in the Southwest are so much like mine. I've just returned from the this area (Bluff, Mexican Hat, Mon Valley etc), and the scenes of you cleaning bugs off the windshield, sipping hotel coffee etc are all too familiar. Shame there's no Starbucks in the area at all, maybe in Kayenta and Moab.
I just found your stuff and have been watching a bunch. I try to not watch vids similar to what we make tho, but I love your more relaxed style. We make offroad trail guides (day trips on trails and usually 1 trail) and this year I have been developing overland route guides (multiday with lots of trails put together, 5 filmed, need editing, will be longer vids). I work a full time job and until this year, was on call 24/7, 365 days a year. I used my PTO and vacation days to film trails. Edit while on call and not working. This year, we finally got a schedule. I work on call 24/7 for 11 days, then have 4 days off call. I just went to Arizona to do some trails by adding PTO to my 4 days off. The biggest problem is now they push more out of us on those 11 days so I have less editing time (probably have a backlog of 45 videos at this point). My buddy helps me edit and I give him 100% of whatever a video makes. So even tho I don’t care about the TH-cam thing, I want them to do well so I can give him more money (his edits are really good). I made my first TH-cam Jeep vid in 2008 and that was just a small personal channel. This channel was my attempt to get more confident and write books, but I have instead just enjoyed making videos. If you ever want to meet up, let me know. I would have backed you up on those water crossings. We would have walked them first, but we could have made it.
We can relate to a lot of what you're talking about. Using PTO for filming as much as possible and then editing later. It can be a lot! But it's also just fun too. 😄
I really enjoy your videos, Glenn. I live in Arizona and love traveling all through the southwest being that you didn’t know it was the Colorado river and went a more direct route to I-70, can I assume you have not yet driven highway 128 (Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway) along the Colorado to I-70? The most beautiful stretch of road and a lot of areas to explore through Castle Valley and beyond.
On my way to Monument Valley, I stopped in Cortez Colorado to see the Grand Mesa National Park....oh, and I had a friend who asked me to do a little shopping for him in Colorado. A little special produce. hahaha
I am loving this road trip and your comments and your dealing with on the road having to deal with things that happen. Rivers you can’t cross lol. And I for one loved the musical interlude. I am well aware of Captain Beyond and Quicksilver. Maybe some watching will remember singer Ro Evans from the old Deep Puple hit “hush”. Before he left and Ian Gillian came in and they went on to huge success. At any rate I have a variety of tastes too but being a huge Purple fan I found that interesting I do have that Captain Beyond on vinyl lol. Anyway keep up the good roadwork and I think maiden is perfect driving music too lol
We've driven by a couple times, just haven't made the stop yet. Still plenty of things on our list in that area to be honest. Hopefully one day we'll hit them up! 👍
Haha! LOL! The music! No wonder Amy doesn’t come along much!! 😂😂 just kidding! That was funny! Great episode- glad you didn’t risk the River crossing. We traveled up that highway from the bridge in Moab for a little excursion- it was so pretty- I never published that video- maybe I should! 😊
Honestly, I can tolerate a good chunk of Glenn's music (some songs being an exception - you know what I'm talking about, Glenn 🤣) but it's mostly the fact that they repeat so often. THAT is what makes me nutty. 😅 I get it though. Sometimes you just get in a groove. LOL
As the old saying goes Turn Around Don't Down. Just cause you can see the bottom doesn't mean the mud won't suck Slim down to the doors. Sweet Glenn got to see his 1st Rattler. Wouldn't mind seeing Glenns playlist. Gotta say we couldn't have asked for a better team than Glenn's filming & Narrating while Amy does some of the best editing I've seen. Thanks for all that You Two do to share all of your work with us.
I've heard some stories about the dirt/mud out there. The truck was filled to capacity with camping gear and not really much recovery gear so, y'know... I think it was the right decision. Thanks so much, friend! 😊👍
Mud is very deceaving @@CactusAtlas . Have you got an air pump yet? Don't forget there's a Huge difference between Tow Straps & Kinetic snatch straps. Go with the kinetic recovery straps when & if you start looking into them
Unfortunately a lot of things were missed on this trip (as is normal) just due to the lack of time, changing plans on the fly, lack of research because of that, and a tight schedule. Once in Colorado National Monument, Glenn had two more videos to film. BUT! I can assure you that this trip wasn't the first to or through Moab and certainly won't be the last. 😊 We'll have to check them out next time! Appreciate the info! 👍
This was a really nice drive episode 😊 I enjoyed it! I hope the Hovenweep video is out soon! Thanks for the great views on the drive, also love the music 🎶 That trail was beautiful 😍
@@CactusAtlas I just saw this comment you left, I guess for a long time I didn't have the right alerts on here and I never finished this video so I was doing that now and saw your comment...yea, that's usually how it is w/couples sometimes, I had a guy I dated for many years and we did not like a lot of the same music but there were a few.
Just got back from a 12 day road trip, San Rafael Swell, Frisco ,Grafton ,Silver Reef, Death Valley mine in Mohave Preserve, Goffs, Oatman, Vulture City, Goldfield, then Lincoln , Fort Sumner NM, Cimarron. The only thing I forgot was nail clippers, had to use wire cutters !Pretty rude !
So...Captain Beyond and Iron Maiden? I no longer wonder why Amy stays at home. LOL. And she serves as your personal OnStar concierge. Life is good, Glenn.
Hahaha! He's got it good at times. 😂 I can tolerate a lot of Glenn's preferred road music. I just get a little twitchy hearing songs repeated so often. 😅
Hey my dude. Go on a tour in your vehicle with Outlaw Adventure Tours in Moab where they lead trails ahead of you in a separate jeep. They’ll teach you everything you need to have more confidence in the backcountry driving. Ask for Dan. Do a full day at “top of the world”. It’ll blow your mind what your vehicle is capable of. Great videos. Great work. Keep it up. God bless you.
I would not be able to talk my wife into tent camping. But I do have a question about setting up in an area with no dirt like you found here. Question is, are you allowed to fill sand bags with native dirt to us to hold down corners of the tent? Thanks, for just in case some day.
Oh yeah- and that question about content- I can totally relate to things not going as planned. Very rarely am I traveling just to film. I’m either on work travel or traveling with my family trying to film when I can and then figure out how to put it together after the fact. I’m hoping for more filming freedom in the future!!😊
I've gathered that a lot of your filming adventures likely coincided with work travels. How you manage to find time I don't even know. 😂 But glad that you do! It probably provides some escape and luckily you've been taken to some places with amazing scenery!
Haha! Tennessee is a little out of the way, but we don't mind guests coming along with us on trips via our videos. Utah is beautiful. If ever you're able to make it out, you won't regret it. 😄
If you had more road trip to post, I think you should have waited to post your Bradshaw adventure video. I kind feel like it was an interruption of the story.
Totally understand. We discussed whether to release it when we did. A lot of the trips we took in the past got split up as well as to not have things be too fatiguing or concentrated in one state or one subject matter (ghost towns vs scenic parks, etc). We know not every video will be someone's cup of tea subject-wise so we try to keep it varied. I'll keep your thoughts in mind in the future. Thanks for the feedback. 😊
Thank you for posting these videos! That part of our USA is gorgeous, I love going over to Utah and exploring. Just got back from the San Rafael Swell area just north of I-70 and west of Green River! Anyway, I too stay in a ground tent. I also have found that the ground almost everywhere is too hard to stake through, so I bring a little help for that. I bought 4 each 8 to 10 Inch Lag Bolts from a hardware store. Mine are 1/2" with 3/4" hex nut on top. I use a 3/8" Battery Powered Impact Driver with 3/4" socket to turn these lag bolts. I also use 4 each 3" Flat Washers on these lag bolts. Then I use the Impact driver to screw into the soil/rocky ground to hold down the four corners of the tent! Use the Impact Driver to remove these Lag Bolts when tearing down my tent and camp area. Easy Peasy!!! Good luck with your adventure's and keep up the great videos!
If you get off I70 at Temple mountain road, it's beautiful North and South. I spent the night 12 days ago on the north, before heading to Frisco utah. Took the first left, an ATV trail in an F150, tight but found a beautiful campsite
You want stories? I got stories! lol I think I may have already commented about it but I'll keep it simple...I went on major roadtrips...one to Utah from Phoenix and one from Phoenix, to Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, LA and San Francisco...on BOTH of these trips, at the end, my cars broke down on me! And BOTH times it was something major, couldn't afford to fix. I hope it's not God's way of telling me to stop taking major trips because I want to possibly do van life or at least part-time van trips. As a fellow creator, I have trouble actually being on camera and I think that's why my channel hasn't grown more, but I just am NOT COMFORTABLE AT ALL being on camera! I'm not comfortable w/my weight and I'm not funny or anything...but one day...I think I'm just gonna have to try and see how it goes...I've tried a couple of times and I just don't even know what to say sometimes! lol I just love taking photos and making videos with music that tell a story of my trip...no one needs to see me...I'm not the center of the universe! lol (not saying others feel that way)
Oh I can 100% relate to you. You have no idea. Couple channels are so popular and I know that staying behind the scenes with editing, commenting, and such while letting Glenn be on camera makes things confusing but I am JUST like you. I've always hated photos taken or video. I feel awkward, I've no idea what to say. I tried a couple times but it's just not natural at all. 🤣 I suppose with practice it might get easier? As for the broken down cars... DANG. That's some craziness. I'd be taking my vehicle in beforehand and watch an inspection if I could just to make sure with that kind of luck. Hopefully those two times were exceptions and you never experience anything like that again!
Get in touch with Jerey Arizona, pretty sure him and his wife have full time jobs and do this on weekends an such. He also partners up with a funny guy who has his own channel.
I'm Glenn's wife. I'm 1/2 of this channel - I edit all the videos, respond to comments, and handle all the social media. Basically everything aside from filming and travel though I join in sometimes like our previous week's video. 😊👍

Getting stuck in one of those washes wouldn't be fun. A quick story I have, is in 2020 no one was renting cars so the rental companies had some good deals.
Hovenweep will be next week. 😊👍
@Cactus Atlas Hooray! We actually skipped going back in 2021 due to time constraints. I still regret that decision 😞
Can totally relate. We have a lot of those regrets and unvisited places because of time too. 😅
hahaha! So funny when you were playing the music...I agree w/Amy! lol :)
😂 High five! In all fairness, there's plenty of music I like that Glenn isn't exceptionally fond of either.
Sounds like a great trip with some fantastic places! And wire cutters? Ouch!
Your awesome! Thanks for sharing your music preferences. Enjoying all vids here from Anthem.
Thank you so much! 😄👍
This was fun!
Thank you! Happy to have entertained. 😊
Maybe one day! Thanks for the suggestion. 😄👍
I would not be able to talk my wife into tent camping. But I do have a question about setting up in an area with no dirt like you found here. Question is, are you allowed to fill sand bags with native dirt to us to hold down corners of the tent? Thanks, for just in case some day.
Good question! One I don't really have the answer to unfortunately.
@@CactusAtlas I’ve been lucky this year with some good locations! (Thats not usual the case!)
Enjoy the vids. Would suggest a Napier Tent for Slim.👍
Thanks so much! 😄
Very nice content. I predict that Slim will gain a topper of some sort to better enable your adventures.
Indeed. I’ve been eyeing a few as of late!
I bet them bugs on your window don't have the guts to do that again.
🤣🤣🤣 Winning comment right there. 😂😂
😂👍
Hmm 1:30 in. Didnt take very long to find a problem lol!
Yeaaaaah... didn't take long this time around. 😂
Are you out of Arizona?
We are based out of Arizona, yes, but visit a lot of the states that border it. 😊👍
Come to TN and take me and my wife with you on a Utah camping trip please.
Oh, wow! That will certainly solve the problem of the ground being too hard! 😅 Clever indeed!
If you get off I70 at Temple mountain road, it's beautiful North and South. I spent the night 12 days ago on the north, before heading to Frisco utah. Took the first left, an ATV trail in an F150, tight but found a beautiful campsite
You want stories? I got stories! lol
I think I may have already commented about it but I'll keep it simple...I went on major roadtrips...one to Utah from Phoenix and one from Phoenix, to Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, LA and San Francisco...on BOTH of these trips, at the end, my cars broke down on me!
@@CactusAtlas I think you and I would get along great! lol
Get in touch with Jerey Arizona, pretty sure him and his wife have full time jobs and do this on weekends an such. He also partners up with a funny guy who has his own channel.
We watch Jerry all the time! He has a great channel. 👍
Who's Amy?
I'm Glenn's wife. I'm 1/2 of this channel - I edit all the videos, respond to comments, and handle all the social media. Basically everything aside from filming and travel though I join in sometimes like our previous week's video. 😊👍
@@CactusAtlas My wife and I are new to your channel. We enjoy Glenn's narration adventure style! We're hitting that like button!
@@CactusAtlas Very good music...Editing....Photo work...
Awesome, thank you! And hello! 👋 Welcome to our channel! 😄
