Been in Leadville my 53 years. I've spent time over there but not as much I should have. Now I see this I know why in my 20s we walked up to seven sisters from a different place! Tulare was the best High lake I've ever fished!
1st timer to you channel, you did an excellent job teaching/ giving tips. There is really no one out there doing this type of video and I've looked for years. I liked hearing what gear to use going up/down, and whether or not lockers were used- great learning tool:) Hope to find more like this. cheers
Thanks, Jeep was able to order a fuel pump for us and we will hopefully have it soon. I’m amazed we were able to get back down without any major damage.
Have run this trail 3 times. Ist time in in my old 77 Scout, somewhat modified, 2nd in the same Scout heavily modified and tried Cleveland Rock did not make it. 3rd was in my 95 Tacoma, fairly modified and my take on IFS in big rocks is it's not the same as a solid front axle but did make it without damage. First two times were in the 80's last time was in 05. French Creek is harder when the water is running hard, makes the rocks with wet tire's very slippery. Glad Y'all had fun and enjoyed your video. Now that I am 70 I doubt I will be running this trail again but then again.....
Great video! Love your channel. Best trail reviews I can find when planning my next trips. Really appreciate the hard work to put those together. Holy Cross this July for me!
Maybe for you, but the typical person watching the channel is very inexperienced and we get a lot of messages that the videos taught them Howe to use their vehicle
Are you and your friends running the stock Dana 44s with those 37 to 38 inch tires? What gearing are you running? Cool video, thanks for the wheeling tips on Holly Cross.
One of them is on Curry 60's and 40s. We are on the stock Dana 44s with 38" tires. We have Yukon Chromolly rear axle shafts and RCVs on the front and we are running 5:13 gearing.
@TrailTraveler thank you for the reply. Have a great day. I just got a Gladiator, so I'm trying to soak up as much info as I can. My first Jeep, but I have been off-roading for years, mostly Toyota until now.
Used to do this trail in my Toyota on 33” 20yrs ago with open diffs and a 5 speed. You learned how to wheel like that. When I got locked, it took waaaay less skill. The Jeeps low 4.0 range t case is more key than anything. Sadly they are junky vehicles and are uncomfortable. But we all love to wheel so I’m not hating, but money add to a rig definitely makes it easier and less stressful! Glad y’all had fun

One of the best you'all have done yet !!😄👍🙏 for the 392 !

You still got time left!!

Just ran the trail with my JLU on 35s. This video has me thinking about bigger shoes next time around. Happy trails!
Dana is amazing. 😂❤😎🤩 Fantastic video, Thank you. Definitely a bucket list trail!!
That's one gnarly trail!
That thumbnail says it all! Great video!
Great video, looks like lots of fun. Katerina did a great job filming. 👍👍👍 It was amazing to see the air down tires flatten out going over the rocks.
Thank you 🤗
Thanks for the video. We will be doing this trail in Sept on our CO overloading trip.
I had no trouble on this trail. It is fun but 40s and 1 tons make it pretty simple.
Great video! Really enjoyed it
Thanks!
Thank you!!!
great video! one of your best!
Great video. Can't wait to wheel this trail
Great video!
You make it look too easy! Nice job on a tough trail.
I love the sound of Philip's jeep, any info on what he has going on with his exhaust?
It’s a standard 392 with the exhaust bypass open
@@TrailTraveler Thank you!
Try doing this trail in a manual 05 Rubicon...
Explaining why you air down and why you use low range is just plain hilarious 😂

The water crossing looks so different with the water so low
Yeah, I've never seen it this low, it was wierd.
I am looking at COTREX and can't make sense of where it begins and ends, can anyone make suggestions on where to look, trail numbers. thanks
Trails Offroad is your goto for trail info: www.trailsoffroad.com/US/colorado/trails/1872-holy-cross-city
@@TrailTraveler thanks for that!
WTF about the 392 shutting off while descending? Did it do that every descent?
Yeah, Jeep has a fuel pump in order to try to fix it
@@TrailTraveler cool
Lost power 3 or 4 times. Once was a big drop, maybe 4.5 feet, and we were lucky that we didn’t take any major damage.
@@prodriquez that pisses me off. Hopefully they fix it for you
@@Colorado4x4 Yep, they are replacing the fuel pump and fuel sensor. Unfortunately, everything is on backorder :)
Could this trail be driven with a bone stock 2DR Rubicon on 33" tires?
With a good spotter and the right lines

what 38s are you running wanting to move to 38s. can't find any MT 38s besides patagonia
I got Nittos from Discount Tire
What gears do you run?
5:13s with 38” tires
Just curious what time of the summer was this? The water was low in the creek, so not early in the run off time.
Just a few weeks ago
@@TrailTraveler Will be there next weekend
@@DigitalColorado1 It should still look the same... but maybe some snow?
Man I would like to roll with so you teach me..
Where is this trail at ?
Near Red Cliff Colorado
How many holy cross video do we need to make??
Sadly a stock beep would get destroyed on this trail. These guys just threw a ton of money at a “ trail ready vehicle” just so they could wheel.
Quiit rdescroying the wild country
What did we destroy or even damage? We were on a designated trail the entire time.
How much farther was Cleveland rock?
From holy cross city it’s a few hundred yards
