Please let me explain the context a little. These are actually two fragments of two songs that belong to popular Spanish folklore and adapted by Diana to the flamenco style.
The first tells the story of "La Tarara", which is the nickname of a young, little gypsy girl who sells flowers on the street to earn a living and feed her little son who is the fruit of a forbidden love.
The second is a dramatic song about a woman called "La Loba" (the she-wolf), who was abandoned by her lover and lives her life with bitterness, resentment and alcohol. But the final verse reveals her true feelings: "Yo, que quiero ser la loba, no me deja el corazón" ("Although I want to be the she-wolf, my heart won't let me be"), showing that she still loves the man who left her.
The voice and passion with which Diana performs these two stories is unmatched. Don't look for anything similar. You won't find it.
Well, Lara Fabian does the "same thing", when she is at her best. I don`t know if they know / have heard of each other, but the way they both approach the song to perform it (the high level of "execution" included), they are soul mates. Just their background is different.

Flamenco is not just a type of music. It includes many variants, depending on the rhythm (for example, bulerias, soleas and alegrías have a 12-beat, 3x4 time signature)and theme of its lyrics. Each of these variants is called "palos", which are totally different in rhythm and lyrics (love, heartbreak, pain, joy, religious devotion, loneliness...). It is said that there are mainly 7 "palos", but with all the variants you can find up to 30. So for example, you have: "bulerías, fandangos, fandanguillos, guajiras, malagueñas, peteneras, seguiriya, soleás, tientos, alegrías, saeta, tarantas, sevillanas, farrucas, cantiñas,". .... All of them, except the saeta which is a cappella, have 2 aspects in common: 1st they arise from the union of a guitarist and a singer, who in some styles is accompanied by clappers (they play the claps carrying the rhythms) or a snare drum (an instrument for keeping rhythm); 2nd, they are completely improvised songs in which the singer and the guitarist have to know how to match each other.
Although it is not a flamenco style, the Spanish "copla" (which is sung with an orchestra) is also closely related.

Flamenco is the soulful expression of three communities with different faiths the Christian, Moslem and Jewish that started cohabitating together (We could learn a lot from that) in the X century under the rule of Alphonse X (The wise one). You can see the different influences of the faiths in the different styles of Flamenco. The peregrination of the Gypsies (Egiptanos) centuries later contributed it to enrich the Flamenco style and its artistry. Diana Navarro embraces the style in a very profound way. That an Arab is attracted to flamenco style music is quite normal. They spent some time in the south of Spain...
But the style is not Arab in exclusive, but it´s generally Mediterránean since very ancient times ago (Neolithic or even before). Pre-Roman Iberia (Spania in reality), Roman Empire, Ancient Greece (Hella), Pharaonic Egipt, Mesopotamia, Sumeria, Persian Empire, Hittites Empire, Hebrew Kingdom of David and Solomon, etc. Thousands and thousand years ago, not only centuries with the muslims and nothing more.
The people are very wrong with that only because the Arab or Muslims have appropriated it in the last times as if it were their own theirself unique thing that they have exported to the rest of the world, but no. Only they have popularizated it, but that´s all.
Similar styles are in Many territories of the east Europe, Poland, all Asia (Central Asia, India, even China), each one with its own unique peculiarity and personality.
Maybe it origin was Indo European, a religious way and then went popular.

Have you ever listen to "Camarón de la Isla". He was a flamenco singer, an absolutely pure, genuine flamenco singer. I thing, you are going to love it.

The Maghreb and Al-Andalus would have a lasting influence in not only the food, culture, language(castellan) but in particular within the music of the Iberian peninsula. This can be noticed in the musical culture of southern Spain particularly in flamenco and its varying Palos. 6:46
Why it sounds familiar is because it must sound familiar. One of the greatest fortunes that we have had in what is now Spain is that each of the empires and cultures that have invaded us have been empire builders or Constructor Empires, and not devouring empires like the English. Thus the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans came and mixed with the cultures that existed. Then came the Germanic peoples and in turn they integrated into what was already there. Later came a new empire from the African coast of the Mediterranean, the Arabic Empires. And it was not a devouring empire either, but integrated the existing culture. They stayed for 7 centuries and with the reconquest a new empire was created which was the Spanish empire which, oh surprise, was not a devouring empire either but a Constructor Empire. Thus, today's Spanish has more than 4000 Arabisms and more than 10000 words influenced by Arabic.
As for the performance, it was the Ceres Awards held in the Roman Theatre of Merida. And as an Arab musician, it is a must, if you come to Spain, to attend a flamenco performance in this theatre.
And i Will tell you one thing...her tickets cost around 35€ 😂

flamenco has arab influence
Arab influence, millenian Iberian (Tartessic) influence, Roman influence, Phoenician influence and Mediterranean (in general) influence. Arab is Mediterránean, Persian, Babilonian, Sumerian, Indian, Chinese, etc influence too like the Flamenco at the same time.
Flamenco have Arab influence, but not is an Arab influence. It´s Mediterranean or Indo European influence in general (the True Mother or Root of all these type of styles). Arab Style is only another one, like the own Flamenco.
