    Not only is it ethical to vaccinate your pets, but it's required in some states. Most states legally require a rabies vaccine for pet dogs and cats.

    • @imaspecialgirllalala
      @imaspecialgirllalala 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Yup!! Like how Hawaii is a rabies free state and they’re very strict with animals, not native to the island, getting their necessary vaccinations.

    • @PinkAgaricus
      @PinkAgaricus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Also the ex boyfriend's sisters in that same story. As much as it's ethical to vaccinate your pets it's also ethical to vax your kids too. I wonder if anyone else (the sisters and the ex [older brother]) in that house got their vaccinations when they were born and as they were going to school.
      Pre-emptively: Okay, okay I realize the family probably religion exempted the kids from their shots. Though that makes me question the validity of the exemption, as I feel with families like this they just abuse it to get their kids out of getting protected from all kinds of nasties (the ones that have the shots made for them).

      @@PinkAgaricus that's my exact thought process. I'm studying for my Master's Degree in Public Health and honestly, I personally think there shouldn't be an allowance for religious reasons for vaccines. You want to use and benefit from a public system (safe roads, clean drinking water, safe food products, decreased risk of disease, etc) you have to play by some rules and like it or not, unless you are 100% self-sufficient (as in you grow/kill all of your own food, make your own clothes, built your own house with supplies you also found/built), you benefit from that system. I'm completely for religious freedom, but I also don't really care what your religion says about vaccines (show me exactly where in the Bible where Jesus was anti-vax, Susan). Not when the alternative is scores of people dying or being disabled to a completely preventable disease.

      i woukdve called animal control the first day just to see if there was anything they could possibly do on their end and im pretty sure in any state they would intervene but say they didnt i wouldve kidnapped that puppy right away and took her the the vet that instant to see jf any damage is reversible no way in hell could i ever watch a dog die in a preventable way and not intervene 😢

    • @PuddilyOops
      @PuddilyOops 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the law in most states. Juice plus is not going to cure rabies or distemper. More importantly those diseases are a public health hazard.

      Completely agree! My sister is a veterinarian and she tells me about how people don't bring their pets in when problems first arise, when it's cheaper, and instead bring them in when it's almost to the point of being too late and it's more expensive to handle the problem, and they complain about the cost!

    • @coracade7940

      Exactly this! And giving a pet any kind of supplements is incredibly dangerous. We have four dogs and we are very careful with everything they eat (including their joint supplements). Let alone the vet care they receive including their much needed vaccinations! It's my job to care for them! I'll never understand how someone can watch their pet suffer without doing everything you can!

    I was a massage therapist for 15 years before moving out of state (where I was licensed). I always find it so interesting/horrifying that essential oils MLM reps are so carefree with their uses of oils and in their advice to people about them. I was taught about essential oils in massage school, and there were so many contraindications they taught us about, as well as things like never ingesting them, never putting them directly onto skin without mixing a certain amount with a certain amount of a carrier oil, never using on certain areas, washing our hands after using them to avoid transferring to eyes, etc, etc, etc. And when I started working all of the spas I worked in had strict rules about all of those same things with essential oils, for liability. So it just always seems so crazy to me when I see or hear about people drinking oils or mixing them with food, or recommending them like medicine.

    • @melissafernandez9535
      @melissafernandez9535 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I first started using oils from one of the bigger oil companies and I cringe because I used to add lemon oil to my water and some to my food. Thankfully I learned fairly quickly that that was not a safe practice at all. I hate when I see people suggest using oils to flavor water because I have read so many stories of people having issues with their liver or esophagus.

    • @Pipkiablo

      @@melissafernandez9535 Absolutely... I knew the benefits of drinking lemon juice in your water, but would usually let lemons go bad before using them, so I was told to drop a couple of drops of the oil in my water and it was the same thing! I only did it once or twice and found out it wasn't how they were supposed to be used. Honestly, many reps are misled and my friend using and selling them was misinformed and passing along the information, thinking she was helping. I think there should be stricter rules for these health related MLM companies. I'm sure somewhere it states that you can't diagnose, etc. etc. but so many don't dig in and learn the information and just believe in a product. Not everything works for everyone the same.

      I had a Mary Kay rep approach me when I was working a part time job at a grocery store. I was irritated because I have a good work ethic and they were paying me to work, not chat about some money-making scam. She did the usual, filling me with compliments on how pretty I was and my gorgeous hair (I do have great hair, but I was only average at best). Story 1 reminds of why I started listening to my pastor. I felt safe in that church and no hun bots last long there.

      I love that your pastor was speaking out against prosperity preaching. My pastor got everyone involved in an MLM :( I am thankful my own faith wasn’t damaged, but I haven’t been a church member since and it’s been 10 years.

      I live in a town that holds a... shall we say, extremely popular prosperity gospel cult (*cough*bethel*cough*) and it depresses me that I have never once heard any church in my city openly denounce the practices that go on there. Some churches in my area even openly collaborate with them and support them.
      That was one of the reasons my husband and I stopped going to our last church. My husband had written a long email to the pastors and elders about all of the horrifying and unbiblical practices that are going on at Bethel, urging them to warn the congregation about being led astray by that garbage prosperity theology. And our pastors basically said they weren't going to do that and that while they disagree with that church on some things, they're still our "brothers and sisters." It was very disappointing. No church that is teaching blatantly false theology, including literal sorcery and divination, should be considered our "brothers and sisters." The Bible tells us to mark and avoid such people.

      @@nat6098 yeah, it was really disappointing. We have a church we are happy with now, and while they have never openly denounced Bethel church, our pastor did recently mention something in a sermon that I think pretty much anyone in our area would interpret pretty easily as a slight to Bethel. I wish pastors would be willing to be more open about it, though, for the sake of clearly telling their congregation to be careful not to go to that church. Especially when it's in our own town and is very popular.

    the dog story made me want to hug my dog a little tighter today. when he was a puppy (he was in the process of getting his vaccinations, you have to spread them out) he got very sick and I took him to the emergency vet(his normal vet had already closed for the day). the vet wanted to run a bunch of tests on him and treatment and tests were going to cost thousands of dollars and I was willing to do whatever I needed to do for my puppy. and when you've done all you can do, then you pray for the best. fortunately the vet only had to run 1 test that ruled out parvo, gave him medicine, and I didnt have to pay what I originally thought I was going to pay. he ended up fine, was able to get the rest of his vaccinations, and he is now a healthy 2 year old.
    I can't believe that there are people out there that would abuse and neglect their pets thinking they know best and then blaming someone else for their neglect. people like that need prison time and should never be allowed to own pets.

In fact, it sort of functions as a spiritual pyramid scheme, where the higher up and closer you are to the top, the more "successful" and "spiritual" you are seen to be. In between house moves, my husband, I and our triplets moved into an apartment/townhouse complex in Irvine, CA back in 2004. My kids were around 1 at the time and there was a small patio that lead to a green space where there was a jungle gym. I found myself terrified when I noticed people peering into our living room from the sliding glass doors. They literally had to open a gate, walk through the patio to get to the slider. They were watching my kids. It was like we were on display and I was forced to keep the blinds closed to keep people away. Totally bizarre. 💜

His friend SO NONCHALANTLY said “yeah they’re fine, Aang threw up today and yesterday and there was blood in it.” I jumped in (partner always talks on speaker) and asked if he had eaten anything he wasn’t supposed to, and said they needed to take him to the emergency vet RIGHT NOW. Turns out, poor buddy got ahold of two nerf darts and fully ate them. Days prior. they were waiting for God to give them an answer about what to do bc they didn’t want to spend the money on an emergency vet. Neither cats have been vaccinated since adoption & when we go over there, they have ONE toy. A feather on a stick. They gave us their beds, too. Those cats literally have nothing & they never get paid any attention to bc of all the other issues that couple has (like his wife not taking birth control behind her husbands back and when she got pregnant he said it was “from god” good lord). They were denied for CareCredit so I put it in my name and he’s having surgery. Sorry for the rant but I just had to complain. My partner is always trying to be devil’s advocate but there’s nothing to say!! They aren’t responsible owners!! I understand accidents happen, but CMON!! My cats would never be left unattended with loose nerf darts for long enough for two of them to be fully ingested. And I would never let my cat basically sit there to die of internal bleeding. Maybe I’m being judgey- idc. I treat my cats like they’re little humans in the family, as I feel everyone should treat their pets.

    The Young Living cult is huge in my area. One woman I know actually alienated her husband’s whole family because she was upset her mother in law got chemo for cancer instead of healing with oils and her company’s Ningxa juice. Her husband doesn’t talk to his family and his mother passed away during his absence. She stopped talking to friends who stopped selling EO’s as her down line and had a feud with her highschool best friend because her friend was more successful in the company. She was also sucked into the antivax movement and faith manipulation. So sad.

    When my mother was in Mary Kay, her team would make wellness bags for cancer patients and would pass them out. They did this because her upline used to be a patient at this hospital and did this with her own money. They did include their business cards in case they decided to order more products, but they would pass these out every month. They would make a sale every once in a while, but never enough to replace the product used. But her upline used this as part of her fun money each month, so she was okay with this since this product helped her out when she was going through radiation. Not to defend them, but it's not the first time I have heard of a hun doing that.

    I put partial blame on Shaklee reps for contributing to my mom's death. They were pushing oils and supplements to treat her illness vs the actual medications from a doctor.
    Mom should have listened to her doc but since her church as a child was very anti-mental health awareness or treatment she was already adverse to taking meds. Even after three life ending attempts and being put into a facility she went right back to magic oils to cure herself.
    It ended horribly and detailed the lives of everyone impacted by her final successful attempt.

    What I love about scent bird is that I have really sensitive senses. So sometimes I can't tell if a scent is going to be bad and give me headaches unless I can try it for a while. Hi Hannah, I've been subscribed for awhile, but never commented before. I've sent a couple of Horror stories to Deanna Mimms in the past. Anyway, I was absolutely horrified by the puppy story & the panic attack one. I was in several MLMs over 40 years, & every time I signed up, it was to get the discount. Back in the olden days, girlfriends would go to parties with physical demonstrations, and we'd be happy to help our friends get their free or exclusive stuff. I loved Tupperware and so it went loving the product and wanting the discount. I wish they'd had an anti MLM movement back then, as I thought it was harmless.

    Leering at me through my window will not get ME to answer the door, that much I know. I remember years ago my doorbell rang at my apartment. I opened my door and peered out to where I can see the building entrance, and saw men I didn't know telling me to let them in the building. I just blankly stared back, then closed me door. The men went to the back of the building to everyone's back doors and they had one man dressed as a fireman. They knocked on my back window, looking at me and telling me they're with fire inspection and I need to let them in. I turned around and left the room with a phone ready to call 9-11 if they tried to break in. The landlord didn't have any inspections scheduled and the men didn't come back ever, so who knows what would have happened had I let them in.

    That vet story made so extremely sad. I work at an animal emergency clinic and the amount of people who wait on things, or don’t get regular vet care (like when people DONT VACCINATE THEIR PUPPIES), or try to just google things (like giving their dogs or cats ibuprofen or toxic oils -especially eucalyptus-), which then become emergencies is insane. It’s also so frustrating when we get blamed for it. Then, we get accused of just wanting peoples money. Which is not the case at all, unfortunately emergency care is just expensive (no different than a human hospital). And even though these people gave their dog (from what it sounds like) toxic supplements, or it had a virus that could have been treated with vaccines/ vet care (I suspect parvo or lepto because it’s usually one of those), science and vet med are somehow the evil…. That poor puppy did not deserve that.

    Ok. I use Do Terra all the time. Actually there are tests proving that essential oil boosts immunity. I have also witnessed it heal small infections. Lavender oil helps with burns. My family and I use it for that reason every time. The problem is that you can’t use just one thing to treat a chronic condition. If some oils give you heart burn, don’t use them. They’ve helped me with stomach problems, especially peppermint. Also they’re not meant to be applied directly to the skin (except Lavender ). You use a carrier oil. As with anything, use caution! Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. What I hate is how MLMs take awesome, natural products and turn them into a scam.

    Actually, essential oils are not intended to be ingested internally at all in any way whatsoever and some of them are even toxic if consumed. The symptoms the person in story 3 experience are exactly like symptoms several others have experienced after ingesting essential oils. Continued excessive topical or internal use of them can also cause the user to develop allergies to the essential oil and which can be severe enough to cause anaphylaxis. (Small amounts of food grade essential oils are different than general essential oils sold for use in diffusers and can be eaten safely and used as flavorings. Though some mlms claim to have lines of food grade essential oils it's actually just the same oils in different packaging and thus not safe to eat or drink.) My sources are Web MD and Mayo Clinic. Basically, do no ever EVER, under ANY circumstances ingest essential oils meant for diffusing or external use. They can potentially eat your stomach/esophageal lining and other horrors.

It's pretty heretical to make such a claim. Like last time I checked most organized religions are against capitalist pursuits. I'm sure there are a tons of Christians who would take offense at that pitch, let alone folks from other religions or folks who aren't religious. I can already imagine their discomfort to be preached at/sold something associated with another religion.
