I had been saying for years I need a clone of Creeds Selection Verte. luckily I just found a competent one from DUA, which is surprising to me because just about everything I have ever tried from DUA does not work for my skin according to my nose, they all have a strange sour tinge to them that is off-putting. Except for their clone of selection Verte. That one is a winner for me
This Star Men line should really just bring back all the Mugler A Men bottle fragrances. They could easily be known as the clone brand to go to. Would love to see Ultra Zest
I have never smelled Pure Malt, but all the hype had me intrigued enough to break my rule of no clones. Figured in this case, since Pure Malt is discontinued, I could make an exception. I don't know if it's a great clone of Pure Malt, but it smells fantastic!

I've never smelled Pure Malt because it was discontinued before I got into the game. I never bought it because of the ridiculous mark-ups people charge nowadays. Seeing this is like hearing Angels sing because I've wanted it for SO LONG! Thank you VERY much, Ash for shining a light on this hidden gem! I do smells the nebula star.... it wasnt pleasant at all for me... im little bit disappointed... for me nebula its a fruity bomb with the background of malt it self.... not really bozzy than the original... and the drydown its totally different... no A*Men DNA, just tombacco on the drydown.. meh for me.. because i comparison with the Pure Malt itself side by side... so no for me.. sorry for my bad english

Unlucky you! They reformulated it later and killed it anyway. I was lucky to buy one in 2010. That perfume was IT... If you were looking for perfume to get complements that was the perfume. I remember wearing it to clubs those days and people just straight up ask what you are wearing. Also the original formula lasted days on your cloths.
I went to the Fragrance World store a few weeks ago and picked this up. I think its a great buy for price/quality. Its about 85-90% accurate to me. They have a few other ones I have picked up over the last few months. Zara Man, Mocha Wood, suspenso intense, and a few more.
I’ve had this now for a couple weeks and although I never owned the original this is AMAZING!!! I just can’t get enough of it. Great video
I ordered Star Men Nebula today. I should receive it by Saturday. Pure Malt is one of my all time favorite fragrances, PERIOD. So I'm super excited about Nebula.

8:25 I can attest too. BUY IT! It is very close to Pure Malt. When I got it and got a whiff off the cap…instantly Mugler’s Pure Malt. I was so shocked I stood up and took a picture of it 😂. I then sprayed it on my wrist. The top note I must admit smelt synthetic but the dry down was very very close to pure malt. I am very proud of my purchase.
Sent (IMO): 8/10 (Gourmand - Chocolaty Patchouli )
Longevity: 8/10 (8hrs+) I still smell it on my wrist 24h later and I showered
Projection: 8/10 (6ft+) It was too strong I had to tuck my wrist under my desk as I worked
I still have 90% full bottles of Pure Malt, Pure Havane, and A*Men. I've been too afraid to use them because when they're gone, they're gone. I'm not ready for that sadness.

I picked this fragrance up about 3 weeks ago or so and I love it, in my opinion it smells spot on to pure malt...😁👍🔥💯... And my scent of the day is jet black enigma And I'll give you two fragrances that I wish that they would bring back or clone and that would be Gucci envy and the other probably mugler Ultra Zest
I really enjoy A*Men, but I got into this game too late and missed out on basically every flanker. So yeah, I fully encourage clone houses to keep whipping up discontinued fragrances 👍

I have Duas version its powdery and sweet to me but it lasts too but to my nose it's light. Not a beast mode but gives off a nice scent bubble

Im lucky enough to have found a bottle of pure malt hidden sitting next to a register about 5 months ago at a local dillards. It blew my mind. Put givenchy prive back and copped the pure malt instead.

I picked this up on a trip to my home country for around $8. It wasn't my target on the shopping trip but I just decided to grab it. Beautiful smell.
This stuff is absolut 🔥 I've been wearing this for days now, and it's become my favorite bottle in my collection, out of a dozen heavy hitter designer fragrances. My wife finds it intoxicating and manly. ( she thinks most of my favorites are too sweet)
People make big deal about perfumes that women like. but in my experience Original Pure Malt and Le Male are the ones that women love. Totally random girls will complement on it.

You yourself has said it. The ENTIRE Escada men's line. Also, I would personally LOVE to see Raw Vanilla by Coty make a comeback. One of my favorite vanillas ever.
Nice. Was looking around at a Perfume Hut in the Waterloo Outlets yesterday and they had like four bottles of Pure Malt. Said it was old stock and was asking 380. Not interested enough for that price, but it was cool to spot a discontinued gem in the wild.

Pretty sure someone else will have said this, and I know it's a house with a ton of stigma attached, but Dua have made an entire line of clones of discontinued (and sometimes pre-reformulation) scents, including (since you mentioned it) one of Gucci Envy. I believe it's called Covet
A lot of the bigger reviewers talked about dua 3-4 years ago. After a while it all died down. I can image dua shipped out frags to be sponsored but over the years dua has grown and is huge on social media and isn’t in need of the big players. Cubaknows still review some he gets for free. Idk. Just my theory.
Hey Ash, just received mined in the mail due to your review! I really like it - it gives me similar vibes to my Hugo Boss Private Accord but a little softer yet more masculine. I don't care for the look of the bottle - but with the price it makes me enjoy the scent even more, I'll actually use it.
This has become my all time favorite clone ... Love it better than any Armaf Club de Nuit type. This is just Great.
Clone houses that aren't Arabic clone discontinued fragrances all the time. Places like The Perfume Parlor and KDJ Inspired. They clone all the fragrances you mentioned in this video and they do so very well.

Got my bottle of Star Men Nebula. Unbelievable! Such a quality clone. Now I wish I bought a couple bottles! Thanks for the heads-up! I can now enjoy my Pure Malt essence more often without depleting my stash!!!!

I still have a little bit left from my bottle. I got it from a perfume shop, an employee suggested it to me, and i loved it. Will cop a bottle of this for sure.

It would be SICK if these brands made clones of Miracle Homme, Rive Gauche, Insensé, Antidote, DK, M7 Fresh, Trussardi Python and all Escada men's fragrances (Casual Friday, Magnetism, Sunset Heat...). Oh, boy, so many fragrances...
Alexandria has clones of Insense and Magnetism. Dua has a clone of Rive Gauche

i just received star man nebula, oh man the opening is nasty chemical synthetic smell. dry down is similar to pure malt though, im going to compare them side by side when i wear next time...
I'm so lucky when haven and malt came out I loved it so much I brought 2 bottles of each and I'm only halfway through the first two bottles but when it is possible to get the new one I will give that a try thank you for the update
Ive never smelt the Pure Havane... But i got a clone from Palermo Perfumes in Melbourne Australia. It smells awesome though. Quickly became my daily frag. Also got PDM Layton and D&G by Man clone from them as well. The D&G is cloned well, brings back memories, and i definitely will buy again when mine runs out. Layton clone, was familiar but sharp noses will know its a little off. All were standard priced at aud35 for 50ml.
I have never smelled Mugler Pure Malt, but I bought Star Men and, to me, it smells like Cuba Prestige Classic.

Mugler Pure Tonka and Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau. Serge luttens seems to still sell the large bell refill jar since allegedly being discontinued but no more of the spray bottles. Both are 2 of my favorite fragtances and anytime something is discontinued I end up rarely using it in fear of wasting.

I found myself reaching less and less for Pure Havane and Pure Malt due to those being discontinued. I pulled the trigger on the Dollar General Malt for a nice dumb reach alternative to Pure Malt! Thanks for the heads up!

Hi ash have you ever tried layering mulger a-men with pure malt, it's amazing, put the a-men on first then the pure malt, best laying combo I have ever tried, try it out you won't regret it.

I'm pretty sure that Parfums Vintage does clones of both Gucci Envy and pour homme II.
YSL Lhomme Libre would be my 1st choice for a great discontinued clone. MAN, I miss that one, but not gonna pay over $120 for a 50 ml, when you can even find them. PR One Million Prive would be my 2nd choice!

I like this clone, but I only get about 6 hours on performance. Becomes a skin scent around 3/4 hours.

There is an excellent clone of Prada Luna Rosa Extreme down here in Brazil. It goes for $30 for a 100ml or $15 for a 50ml

Fragrance World has their very own dupe of ADG Profumo. And they named it Aqua De Classic Profumo and they even have the same bottle. For me it's better than Lattafa Suqraat.

I remember seeing Pure Malt in Dillards for $70 when it barely came out and was like meh I’ll pick it up later . When I finally got around to trying to get one they where all sold out 😅. Neve ever got one . 🤣
I haven't tried this specific one -- but my experience with the Fragrance World line has been that they often smell amazing.. but just don't last at all! I've bought a handful of them since they smell great in-store, but in actual use? they're gone in no time. Hopefully this ones a bit different!
DK Men from the 90s. 94 I believe with the alien artifact looking bottle smelled like nothing I had before or since. Amazingly different compliment magnet

The bottle is a ode to a racing cars gearstick because Donna Karans husband was big into Nascar. Excellent fragrance, one of my favourites designer fragrances of all time. I have 2 bottles.

Hey Ash, you know how you're a big fan of Carolina Herrera's private line? Well, here in ol' Blighty - the UK, for those who don't know - my partner is a huge, huge, huge fan also. She's on her second bottle of Mystery Tobacco and can't get enough of it..

I got a Fragrance World straight-up clone (yep, even the box as well as the bottle!) called "Tobacco Myth" and guess what? The perfume itself is almost identical!
Seriously, we've both had our noses all over it and it's very, very, close indeed.
So close, she uses it all the time!
Obviously, the Herrera absolutely has the edge on quality, and you'd rightly expect that of course. But the scent itself couldn't be closer. Lasts, too.
The cost? Here in the UK, I got it off Amazon for about £15! In US dollars, I'm going to guess that'd be around $23 - $25..
Anyway, just thought you might like to know..
