Hey everyone! 📚 🐾 Welcome back to another study with me video. In today's video I talk you through a little bit about what I am currently working on & I share some exciting news! If you've been watching my previous videos you will know I am currently working my way towards becoming a veterinary nurse / working in that career field. I am taking an online course with animal courses direct studying a level 2 diploma in veterinary care assistance. I am also thinking of taking on a GCSE Biology to progress further with my studies.

Wow what a chilled video, I am actually starting this course tomorrow!!! How are you finding it so far? I am looking forward to it, Also looking to get into animal nursing and thinking of doing biology also, hoping to secure a work placement at a local Vet, was looking up videos on animal courses direct as do not know much about them and found your video, was glad to see you are enjoying doing it, also such a cute hamster!! 😍 good luck in all your studies and hope you get your dream job. 🙂

I am doing this exact course. I have just finished unit 6 and I’m on unit 7. Just started the assessment for unit 7. Waiting to hear from my chosen placement

How was the course like? did you get enough support from the tutors? and was it enough for you to get your career started in vet nursing?

Hi there! The course is really interesting but time consuming. I did get a lot of support from the tutors and however it is not a recognised / high enough qualification for veterinary nursing but may get you in the doors as an assistant for starters and work your way up in the practice. It is not enough for me to get where I personally want to be so I am now doing an access to HE course in science which will enable me to go to university to study veterinary nursing degree level, but with animal courses direct it is great for those wanting to start off in a practice as assistant and you gain hands on experience with the placement included with the online course.😊✌

Was your course a full vet nurse course, or a vet nurse assistant course?
I've just started the level 2 vet nurse assistant course online. Seems like the best way to get into the profession!

Hi there! My course is a veterinary assistant course at level 2. I think you might be doing the same as me? Are you studying with animal courses direct. It really is a great way and their is placement involved with the two units near the end of the course which is great for practical hands on experience. @@messymakersmind mine is with Learn Direct. It only requires a placement right at the end of the 11 modules for 1-2 weeks. Luckily I have one lined up for when I'm ready for it.
Hoping to then start as a vet nurse assistant somewhere that'll then put me through the vet nurse course (in an ideal world..!!)

do you think that the school will take me even though I'm from Israel?
in Israel the courses here are VERY expensive.

Hi there! there are no formal entry requirements for this course, but in order to work in a veterinary practice you will need your GCSE English and maths :)
