    The biggest benefit of a Texan is that if you invest in a 4500 psi compressor and buy molds ,use wheel weights ,you can shoot for free. I'm buying the 50 Cal Texan with the super valve heavy hammer spring and a few 510 diameter molds. 396 and a 412 grain. I'm getting a us made 4500 psi compressor and a few 4500 psi scuba tanks. I can run my HKs and AKs ,but that cost money. If you spend the money on investing into a full setup with a Texan it's free essentially

      My thoughts, You will spend thousands of dollars just to have to carry that all around. If somthing goes down and you have no electricity, or there’s an apocalypse etc. The only way to pump it is a manual pump. That takes too long. Someone is just gonna shoot you within that 15 minutes. You also only get like 6 shots. Vs buying a nice semi auto rifle for 600 or a nice sniper rifle in the sale section at cabelas for 300. Then you buy thousands of bullets over time and be able to have all that in an apocalypse. Way easier than air

    Hey you know it looks like you did a really nice upgrade on that air rifle and it may be the most powerful 4 45 caliber air rifle but for $1,900 you probably would have been better off just to have got the Zeus air rifle I know it's a 72 Cal but I believe that one is truly the most powerful air rifle you can get they call it the 12 gauge shotgun

  • @asherr5966

    It's good that you mention the air consumption con. I own a bushbuck and it gets max power at 3800 psi. I thought I wanted more power, was looking into one of the more powerful options but they all need that higher pressure and I do like to shoot for a while. dont want to take more than just my one large tank with me, that's ultimately why I decided to stick with the bushbuck.

    • @donwilson350
      @donwilson350 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You know when you're right you know a lot of these are gone guys want to push all this PSI filled to the Limit who's to say this texting here wouldn't give you better performance with a 4,000 PSI fill instead of 44 just because you can fill it the 45 doesn't mean that it will shoot the best there that's all I'm saying

    • @asherr5966
      @asherr5966 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@donwilson350 yes. The bushbuck is actually this way. The manual said it could be filled to as much as 4400 PSI IIRC, but it gets best velocity around 3800 as I mentioned. However, there are big bores that do get their best power at the higher number where you'll get way less shots at that pressure before your tank runs low...

      Smaller calibers are more fun. Over a 100 regulated shots with my .25 and the thing is a laser. Big bores are cool but the ammo is expensive and the shot count just really sucks the fun out of em

      @@asherr5966 my aea 50 caliber Challenger is the same I can fill up to 4500 but I will have no max power until 3800 mark just too much pressure for hammer spring I only like to overfill to 4500 when I'm Target practicing gives me like a 16 shot total

    Thank you for the review. I don't own an air rifle, but you've placed a little seed in the brain. That said, I don't think I'm into the refueling on them along with projectile costs. I think I'm, (me) further ahead to just keep pulling the trigger on my 17wsm, at $18.00 for 50 rds. I'm a pig hunter, I watched your CO hunt. I'm sure you know about shooting those big bore hogs a shoulder, NOT good shot placement unless you've got some beef, though you did fine. Head and high neck are my only choices with small caliber, and would probably be the same for me if using air. If I. can find someone in my local area I would give it a try. Oh, the $1,800 price tag is pretty much a game killer as well.
    That said, enjoyed your video and the education you're putting out there and I did subscribe with a thumbs up!

  • @maryokelly9674
    @maryokelly9674 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The stock valve can handle the 3600 psi like the new valve
    I just put a new hammer spring around 3/4 more longer than the stock spring
    I bought it at hardware store
    Now I get 100 fps more than before
    The only problem is the lock on the trigger get stuck when the air gets down around 2500 psi
    I need to figure out what i can do with it
    And the other problem is the trigger
    It gets much more sensitive so with little push it shoots so be careful with it
    I'm still trying to figure out why when I turn all the way inside the power wheel
    The trigger lock get stuck
    So I have to turn back the power wheel
    Till I can unlock the trigger
    And like I said just be careful with the trigger!

    The only thing it’s missing is a suppressor instead of a muzzle brake and it’s perfect. Nothing’s quieter than a suppressed air rifle, since at full power you’re subsonic why not suppress it? Who cares about recoil control over sound suppression when it’s just a single shot? The recoil shouldn’t matter a bit as long as your stable and confident with your rifle/scope setup. It would be different if you had a muzzle brake/compensator on say a threaded barrel 10mm XDM (which I have one with a compensator and love it dearly) where most ammo is loaded on the supersonic side and it’s semi automatic with a high capacity so a compensator over a suppressor makes more sense. Not to mention 10mm does have recoil that needs to be tamed for a quick follow up shot, no matter what in this case however the reloading process takes to long for it to matter. My Texan LSS in .308 with the stock 3000psi tank is of course very tame in recoil, the shrouded barrel and suppressor also minimally helps the recoil, but really it’s because it’s not there in the first place. Even if it was though I would much rather suppress than compensate when givin the choice on the Texan. Nothing is more valuable than being stealthy in the woods if you want to bag more critters or not scare surrounding wildlife or even neighboring people suppress that bad boy, it’s just calling out for one.

    • @ColoradoAirgunner
      @ColoradoAirgunner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like suppressors too! I have an Emperor from DonnyFL for it. It'd just so long to carry hunting.
