(Although its not conformed that all cores once were humans) The difference is that she is the most intellignet of them all and the only one in control of the whole modern facility. Some cores where designed to be attached to her to restrain her intelligence by beeing a "voice in her head". Sorry for this extrended answer. If valve made a prequel, I like to think this is exactly what they would do. It’s so awesome to see Aperture with scientists walking around still alive. Ties in nicely with Portal 2.

It took over parts of the facility due to the fact Glados was offline and because it detected what it perceived as dangerous elements (Glados, Mell, and Virgil). Because of that, its programming allowed it to take over certain functions to allow it to dispose of the dangerous elements.

45:54 I did that a different (kinda glitchy) way, after I activated the first "laser sensor", i walked through the Emancipation Grill, which removed my portals, causing the laser to stop pointing at the sensor, which then caused one grill to deactivate, and one to activate. Right before the second one activated, I shot a portal on the opposite side of it, then I used the redirection cube to redirect the laser through the other portal, into the one I placed on the other side, and into the second sensor.
Why did you end the Recording! There was a part after that where A.E.G.I.S Wakes up Test subject #1 and then Portal 2 starts When in the begining of Portal 2 you hear you have been asleep for 9999
The test subject is not permitted to take classified aperture equipment into the elevator, because, if she did take the core, the elevator would be in lockdown mode like it was with the portal gun mel had to incinerate
I think the AEGIS painted board that was conveniently close to the turret control line was made by Rattman. He was probably a life-form AEGIS tracked at one point. This would make sense, seeing that Rattman is a good painter, and is always on the run from some corrupt AI. Obviously he wouldn’t have been successful at shutting down AEGIS, but what he left was vital for taking it down eventually.
@@leoncruz8341 yeah and it’s (unfortunately) not canon and not made by Valve (the original creators of portal 1 & 2 as well as many other fantastic games) though many have made this game their headcanon as it just fits so well with the portal universe and has the same humor of it too. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Valve confirms that this game is canon despite not being made by them. Also, this game is even free! So check it out on your own time if you haven’t already and if you even can.
at 47:52 there's an alternate way to do this, launch yourself using the launchpad, and when you land, perform a bunnyhop into the portal, you will normally get just enough momentum to get through the field.
This might be the ONLY portal fan game that lets you see the surface and lets you free from the facility and does not lets you go in a room surrounded by screens
I also think after that tragic moment when mel escapes she couldnt take the train out because its been abandoned for a long time so she probably just followed the remains of the track to get back to what used to be her home

The chamber where AEGIS initiates the flooding procedure always freaks me out - it feels like it's timed, but then you don't know if it is, but then the game sets the mood that it is, and eventually every time you go through it you freak out because you never want to stick around long enough to know.

45:54 I did that a different (kinda glitchy) way, after I activated the first "laser sensor", i walked through the Emancipation Grill, which removed my portals, causing the laser to stop pointing at the sensor, which then caused one grill to deactivate, and one to activate. Right before the second one activated, I shot a portal on the opposite side of it, then I used the redirection cube to redirect the laser through the other portal, into the one I placed on the other side, and into the second sensor.

The test subject is not permitted to take classified aperture equipment into the elevator, because, if she did take the core, the elevator would be in lockdown mode like it was with the portal gun mel had to incinerate

I think the AEGIS painted board that was conveniently close to the turret control line was made by Rattman. He was probably a life-form AEGIS tracked at one point. This would make sense, seeing that Rattman is a good painter, and is always on the run from some corrupt AI. Obviously he wouldn’t have been successful at shutting down AEGIS, but what he left was vital for taking it down eventually.
Well, he was murdered however by Turrets, after Portal 1.
Virgil being a maintenance core trying to stop the flooding of the facility is quite neat. That’s why I think Shard’s voice would sound like Virgil’s!

@@leoncruz8341 yeah and it’s (unfortunately) not canon and not made by Valve (the original creators of portal 1 & 2 as well as many other fantastic games) though many have made this game their headcanon as it just fits so well with the portal universe and has the same humor of it too.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Valve confirms that this game is canon despite not being made by them.
Also, this game is even free! So check it out on your own time if you haven’t already and if you even can.

at 47:52 there's an alternate way to do this, launch yourself using the launchpad, and when you land, perform a bunnyhop into the portal, you will normally get just enough momentum to get through the field.

The chamber where AEGIS initiates the flooding procedure always freaks me out - it feels like it's timed, but then you don't know if it is, but then the game sets the mood that it is, and eventually every time you go through it you freak out because you never want to stick around long enough to know.

Chun Lo It's been pointed out by Virgil that a test subject defeated Glados, so it is between Portal 1 and 2. Cave Johnson is dead long ago.
