On the other hand, are you not a fan? You wouldn’t be the first. Massive album sales don’t mean you’re universally loved by worldwide listeners. Reaching the top can also make enemies out of your peers in showbusiness. Several singers and celebrities have stepped out to share their distaste for Phil Collins. Kurt Cobain and Roger Walters found him inauthentic. Noelle Gallegher went so far as to say he should be hated.
Most of those arguments didn’t count as two-way feuds. He was smart enough to let their rants fall off his back. That wasn’t something he was always able to do, and he has been pushed too far on occasion. Phil has often started or at least contributed to a few feuds on his own. Rehearsals for his performance with Jimmy Page were more of a shouting match than anything and led to a terrible set. He’s shot at talent judge Simon Cowel to levy the common complaint that he’s too rude to contestants.
Some of his feuds are only rumors. Former bandmate Peter Gabriel still respects and is friends with him. He even asked Phil to be the best man at his wedding. One disagreement stands above the rest. The list of celebrities who’ve had a problem with Phil is long, but there’s one who stands at the top and can never be fixed.
Like and subscribe to FactsVerse for more on the most heated celebrity feuds. Watch our video to learn why Phil Collins hates him more than anyone.

Phil Collins is no angel, Paul McCartney is known for his mischievous sense of humour, Collins is the one with the ego, I remember how he said he would leave Britain if a labour government came into power to avoid paying more tax, this despite being a multi millionaire, no wonder his wives all binned him. I love his voice and a lot of his music) both solo and with Genesis) and he was a brilliant drummer, but he isn’t without his flaws

Any disparaging comment from the OASIS brothers should be taken as a Badge of Honor! - OASIS was THE Most Manufactured, S#it band to ever come out of Great Britain! I noticed that all these comments were lobbied about AFTER Collin's phenomenal "Commercial" success, and yet...not one mention about his Incredible prowess at one of The BEST Drummers to come out of England! - not only with GENESIS, but also his Jazz-Fusion project - Brand X, and his pioneering work with both Brian Eno, AND - solo Peter Gabriel!

"(...)favorite Phil Collins song? Are you a fan of the rock legend?"
This question can also be answered with no, without talking down, not recognising or honouring his performance, contribution or influence. For me, he was the right drummer and backing vocalist for Genesis, his voice was also a perfect equivalent to Gabriel's, but he couldn't or didn't want to match Peter's love of experimentation and virtuosity. And I would like to make a comparison to P. Gabriel and Collins and other popular musicians who excelled in the 80's (not to belittle their legacy) with cover versions; Soft Cell, Kim Wilde, Phil Collins, Tina Turner, Rod Steward, Bananarama, Pet Shop Boys, etc. the list is so endless... great and equally memorable songs, but as far as I know Gabriel has stood out with his own compositions. And you have to be fair at the same time (also to the other artists), big hits are his own or co-productions (except 'You Can't Hurry Love') - and - I could go on and on, but I just want to honour him here and now without being a fan of his. Thank you Phil! Thank you so much (really!) without being a fan...

I remember Paul McCartney was told about the death of John Lennon he said, "tough init"! I've never liked him since....
(I stand corrected! I know what he said had the same tone . But yes I do recall he said "it's a drag".) Not the greatest response on hearing of a good friends demise!

Like the media at the time you take everything he said about the shooting as gospel, he was the first Beatle asked for a reaction soon after news came through. He was in total shock and then to get a microphone shoved in your face is not right. He did release a statement soon after he had fully processed the news of the shooting of his best friend. That statement read " He was a great man & will be missed by the whole world, & he will be remembered for his art, music & contribution to world peace.

The fact is that Collins is immensely talented and one of the best artists of all time. All of the artists mentioned are not on his level talent wise, except for McCartney who is extraordinary talented. I think when McCartney made the comment, he didn’t mean anything by it, but it obviously rubbed Collins the wrong way. Both are pretty nice people from what I have gathered.

The saddest for me is about Phil Collins and the Beatles, because they are all so talented and I think are generally good guys, but there may be a bit too much pride with Phil Collins and Paul McCartney just because they are so good at what they do, and so expect more respect and effort from others. I can understand why Phil got upset at the Beatles. But I think he should have accepted the apology and let it go.
The most surprising to me is Noell Gallagher. I have no idea what Noell think he could gain by making a dig at Phil Collins, musically they are both talented, but I think Phil is better.<
The least surprising is Simon Cowell. He is trying to sell a show I get that, but Phil is not wrong in calling him rude.

It is not right to take an awkward episode from remote past and blow it out of proportion using words like _hate_. Most talented people aren't exactly easy characters and probably Phil isn't one but come on, it looks like media trying to irritate things that should be forgotten. It was a casual moment: Sir Paul did not mean anything wrong but Phil took his inadvertent remark as humiliating. Just a clumsy moment, entirely avoidable if both were in a different mood at the time. The rest is malicious overblowing.
In general, I dislike all those YT stuff about who hates who, somebody's 10 most hated musicians or bands etc. - modern media for you...

South Park hit not P. Collins personally but his usage of Auto pitch tuning, from later episodes we can see that Trey Parker very dislike artist who used auto pitch tuning. Personally I like it except Cher "Believe" where auto pitch been cranked up to eleven :) It is very robotic sounding.
We must give credit to Phill even his voice was altered with technology, only one band AC/DC after vocalist death found perfect voice match. Others bands fall from popularity very quickly after front man leaves band or dies.

South Park were butt hurt that they lost.
Phil was screwed by Stevie Wonder at 1985 Oscars. Against All Odds loses to I Just Called to Say I Love You was sacrilege.
Three years later, Phil’s Two Hearts lost to Carly Simon’s song for Working Girl “Let the River Run”.
I didn’t expect You’ll Be in My Heart to win. I expected Randy Newman to win and South Park had no chance in Hell. Phil was shocked when he won. The South Park guys were jealous. David Gilmour told South Park NO for use of any Pink Floyd song but apparently Roger Waters was flattered when they quoted Pigs (Three Different Ones) in an episode.
