We took a trip over to Long Beach, California to fish with Outcast Sportfishing. Our goal was to catch Giant Pacific Bluefin Tuna. We primarily used flying fish on a kite and looked for schools of foaming fish on top. This fishery is insane and we ended up with 6 fish and caught around 1,000lbs of tuna! We were able to bring some home to our friends and family and made some homemade sushi with our catch!

One of the nice things about living in San Diego is people tend to share their fish catch. When you come home with 20-50 lbs of fish it’s pretty impossible to eat it all yourself (especially tuna) so we tend to give it away or throw dinner parties. I love fish but I’m not a huge fan of full day trip fishing excursions. I’m more of a bring-the-sides kind of guy and when that’s your role you better not skimp and you better be ready to do some dishes after the meal is over. I’ve never been to Alaska for a fishing trip but that always seems to be a huge windfall when friends or family get home, now you’re talking hundreds of pounds of halibut and lingcod which are two of my favorites

Those are my home waters been fishing them since 1965 I recently moved to Florida but I grew up in socal by the beach I miss my fishing there so bad this time of year it's perfect I've caught dozens of bluefin and yellow fin there the yellow fin tuna will be showing up in a couple weeks I've worked at those docs before I was a business owner there thanks for the video I love it oh by the way the biggest bluefin I witnessed caught was 425 lbs 87 inches it was fun thanks guys loved it

I want to tell you about cooking Kingfish from frozen. I cook them covered completely in orange juice. Bake them and tell they’re just tender drain the orange juice off and then brace them or on high broiler covered with butter and garlic. You’d be amazed how the orange juice makes the fish so much better.

I live in LA California just moved here from Ga my parents used to take us fishing in little ponds but I love the ocean life and have always wanted to go lobstering and fish the big ocean. Me being a chef of 36 years privately and professionally I would definitely put you up against a lot of cooks that I've known in the past. Keep it up. You have to fry the rice right out of the fridge so that the center takes longer to cook because its as cold as it can be without being frozen. Also starting from a rippin hot pan will get the crunch on the outside faster without cooking through so the center can be fluffier.

I purchase all of my Daiwa slow pitch reels from Japan. They have models that aren't sold in the USA that IMO are heads above the US equipment. As long as you stay below $1,000, there is no import duty.

Your local grocery store should carry a Sushi rice called Botan(cal-rose rice) it’s also delicious. Very important get the medium grain rice.
