I thought Ben Stiller's character was supposed to be intentionally unlikable. He seemed like he was trying to be a grim dark hero like Wolverene, Rorschach, or some versions of Batman and just failed at it hilariously.
It’s so stupid and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Picked mine up from the discount bin from Walmart and the best part was being “non-violent”. It’s not close to the comic books, each person is basically a stand alone sub-superhero at the end of their career faced with a last mission guaranteed to kill them. I like the movie so much more.
Oh really? The comic book story sounds interesting as well. Sometimes it amazes me how Hollywood is so afraid of the heroic death as the end of their journey..
