    Beautiful 😊 and I love that that epoxy is only on one side. A food cutting side and a display side is great. Definitely prefer it to all the boards I've seen made where the epoxy runs all the way through

      Thank you so much! 🥹 the client had the design they wanted before we even spoke. They knew the size, colors and even where they wanted the epoxy to be poured. When a client knows what they want, we guide them to make the piece come to life but we respect their wishes and vision. The cool thing is that with epoxy each piece is so unique and there’s so many possibilities! 😍🥰

    Not a good idea. Microplastic, BPA. You as a craftsmen/women should know better and educate your clients.

      We completely agree and that is why we always educate our clients that if a piece has epoxy on it, that it is for meant to be used for display only. We always leave the back of the boards untouched, so they can use the back and then display the front. That is the whole concept of our epoxy boards.

      If you’re into that lol, but we wouldn’t want to be held responsible for what would happen 😂

      Finally! Someone who understands! We use food safe epoxy for all our pieces, and even then, we always recommend for it to be displayed so the art remains untouched and no one cuts on it 😅

    Your jointer is missing the blade guard and your table saw either needs a new blade or the blade needs a good sharpening and or cleaning.

      I know lol…. I would not recommend for much, he found it easiest to not have it on, but always protecting the fingers 😅 and yeah we have had this table saw for over two years and apart from needing a new blade, we really need a new soon. The motor is struggling to move up and down as well, so hopefully we can get a new one this year

      Cleaning the gears that control the blade height is quite easy and takes only a few minutes of work. Just tip the saw on its side and use the mildest agent that does the job (I use degreaser and follow up w silicon spray).
      The workpiece “bucking” up and down is a bad look. Dewalt saws are surprisingly powerful with the right blades-I routinely make angled rips through 2 1/8” of hard maple or zebra wood (much harder woods than walnut). Your saw with a little consideration should be fine for making any cutting boards.

      We are definitely going to give that a try. We recently changed the blade but since we work with only hardwood and build furniture pieces as well, the blade has gotten a lot of use recently… as far at the gear head, we did not know about that. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a few tips and pointers us in the right direction, it was not the best of times trying to split that walnut piece lol

      That’s okay! The client loved it, it was exactly what she was looking for. And the best part was that she had got it just in time for the holidays

      Watching with the sound off while i was tinkering with something i didnt even know that was supposed to be a beach/ ocean. Not until i turned the volume back up and backtracked a bit lol, maybe should try a different technique so it looks like it more. Just like a tattoo if i cant tell what it is just by the looks until you explain it, the objective of the mission wasnt accomplished.

      Thanks for your feedback! We try to always bring each piece as close as possible to what the client wants. They wanted a mix of colors and no harsh white. Art is subjective and what some of us may love, others may not. Even with tattoos, to many it may not make sense but as long as it does to the person getting it, then nothing else matters. The “objective” was their happiness and that was accomplished. Thanks for your concern.

    not food safe ...... zz

    • @TheHandyCreators
      @TheHandyCreators  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Some epoxies are food safe when fully cured and used as directed. Yet, most of the population uses plastic cutting boards and it’s not a “concern”. Regardless, the epoxy side is designed to be displayed and used on the back which is solid wood.
