- How To Prepare The Perfect Pitch Bowl for Chasing and Repousse Jewelry -Setting up a pitch bowl that is perfect for you takes some consideration. I'll show you my favorite pitch, my favorite pitch bowl (both available on my tools site) for chasing and repousse and exactly how to prepare your perfect pitch bowl, every step of the way. This seven inch pitch bowl is big enough for chasing and repousse, bracelets, earrings, pendants, rings, etc without being so big that it is very difficult to move. This German red pitch has the best working characteristics of any I have tried. Together, they make the perfect pitch bowl for repousse and chasing.

Great video! If you don't have the scrap metal, can you use just the concrete and pitch on top?
Yes, absolutely! You don't have to have the scrap metal, it just adds some weight and the heavier the bowl, the less it moves around on you while hammering. :)
❤Nicely done
Thank you so very much! :)
Thank you so much. It is a fantastic video, as always !
You are very welcome! :)
Fascinating and so helpful! And which heat gun can you recommend for this work?
Ours is just from the home depot, not specially made for jewelry making. :)
Amazing video! What is exactly this pitch? Do you have a store to recommend me to buy this material?
This particular variety of red german pitch is my favorite, you can find it on my tools site here

along with my favorite pitch bowls and lots more. :)
Hello, What's the concrete stuff you use? Does it have to be a specific type to be able to transfer heat well?
Nope! I use quickcreete from any hardware source but it really is just a filler, no specific properties necessary. :)
Another great video! What size bowl did you use?
I used the 7 inch, I think that is the most versatile. I put my favorite one with the pitch on my tools site,

So glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. :)
I inherited a beautiful pitch bowl but it’s a bit low on pitch and I can’t make a lump. Can I add the red pitch on top of the black pitch to get the height I want?
Hmmmmm... If you are just working on the top section, I don't see why not but I would avoid working where they come together.:)
Thick like pancake batter!
Yes it is! :)
