The hammer strikes sound like a power tool sped up so fast! Very impressive thanks for this! I'm excited to try it out. I'm going to start by making my own repousse punches. Money's tight :P
If for some reason I had to stop on a project and come back to it later or even the next day, would I need to do anything like softening the pitch? Thanks.
So when you switch to Repousse do you also switch hammer, to heavier hammer? Or use same hammer you were using when you were chasing? Thank you, Bonnie
So to get the nice crisp edges on the raised areas, you leave the pitch pretty much room temperature? I’m just learning. The repousse never has sharp edges and the background is always really misshapen. The pitch is probably too warm? And, did you anneal at all during the repousse step? Or just once at the start? Thanks.
I make all of my own tools but after seeing your website it would be sweet to just plop down cash and get the whole bundle. LOL Maybe in my next life. LOL
Some people use microcrystalline wax instead of pitch, but it is not sticky so it is better to be used to fill vessels instead of using in a bowl with flat pieces
the piece of metal and the "drawing" (let's call it so) that one is going to use must be whider than the final product, right? I beg you pardon if my English isn't the best. I'm from Portugal and don't have many changes to write in English, for that its a liiiitle bit rusty. x)
The piece of metal that the design is on should be larger than the design, to minimize distortion, and give the pitch room to overlap and hold in place

Beautiful.
Nice work

Sometimes if it is very cold outside, I will warm the pitch slightly, but besides that, no
Worst case heating up the pitch will help soften it, in desperate times you might be able to use the Oven for a while

Good question. Yes I’ll typically switch to larger sized hammer when I switch to repousse depending on the tool size.
Hi everybody, Try to use chisel with ball on the end. Much better and easy to do 3d

Hi, Thanks for your questions. If you watch the rest of the series, I think you'll find the answers to most of your questions. Cheers
Awsome work bro , is that brass copper or what kind of flexible metals could be used , thanks .
This is 32 oz copper. Just about any sheet metal could be used, with the proper technique
