    weight gain is that mental block I keep hitting. it's scary. it's almost like there is no A (skinny), B (normal), C (obese) it's just A and C. thank you for the reminder Eric . I always seem to need them. :)

    Erik, these ED videos are helping me so much. I didn't realize I probably had an eating disorder until I watched these. I went through the same thing mentally, and I still kind of do. I never got as skinny as you did, but I got pretty underweight. I'm on the way back up right now and I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Thinking that because we overeat we think we're gonna wake up 600 lbs, all of that. It feels good to know that I'm not the only one dealing with this. Keep making these.

    Hey man, just had something I wanted to share. As a guy in recovery from Anorexia, I've seriously appreciated the attention your videos have brought to the prevalence of eating disorders in men. The only thing I take issue with, though, is your frequent use of photos from your lowest weight. Because competition is such an integral part of eating disorders, those kind of pictures can be extremely triggering for a lot of struggling people. I also think using photos to emphasize one's emaciation furthers the misconception that eating disorders are solely about poor body image. In the vast majority of cases, mine included, they serve as an immensely powerful coping mechanism to distract from serious and terrifying problems. Please don't stop making these videos Erik. Your voice is so appreciated and you are doing a fantastic job spreading awareness about this disease that has affected both our lives in profound ways. I just want to offer something that might make your message a bit safer for those who aren't so solid in their recoveries yet.

    Thanks for uploading these videos, dude. I'm trying to get myself to eat more now since I lost a good bit from being overweight in the past.My family members including my parents are worried about my eaing habit 'cause only eat once a day and I'm pretty much thin now, and workout six days a week for an hour or less, except on my cheat days that I recently added. But, that fear of being who I was still haunts me because I don't want to go back to that. But, seeing these videos of yours is starting to help chase that fear of eating more away. Anyway, I think I'm starting to feel more relaxed now, I think I'll just start taking small steps to improve myself until I reach the goal I need to get at. But, thanks again and keep up the awesome work.

I gained 40lbs in 1 month was 80lbs @ 5'4 during anorexia constant hunger, always thinking about food, never satisfied. My highest weight was 125lbs @ 5'4, thankfully he took me off the meds and now i'm really healthy about 106lbs 5'4 recovered.

    When I jumped back from my 3 month bout with an eating disorder I just ate as much as I could. I would eat about 2 bags of potato chips everyday. I gained 11 kg i 2 weeks. Half of that was probably just water and glycogen. Even though I don't have an eating disorder anymore I still see food as calories constantly think about food and my weight. A lot of that is because I'm a cyclist and really want to perform good this coming season which means being as light and as strong as possible.

    Everyone has a problem.Lucky I was strong enough to do it alone because honestly I got NO help .They only realise I was underweight after I decided to eat again so but the time they realised I wasn't as I'll anymore and back on track.Theyre so obsessed about the last 4lbs for me to put on (forgetting I put on 20lbs alone!) and forgetting I am a vegan now eating healthy so I won't be the same weight a I was eating a 100% crappy diet before my ed.I don't know what to do because they're so obsessed with that extra 4lbs! How can I be the same weight as I was eating crap as I am eating healthy!??my life is still hell .Being forced to get weighted every month.Its doing me more harm then anything because I don't care about my weight anymore I will NEVER stop eating again I am not in that place anymore it's been almost 6months!

    Jw does that water weight stuff apply when starting a lean bulk or any bulk in general, I gained like 10 pounds in like 2 weeks despite eating at most 2800 calories or something 160 6 1 I doubt the surplus is that big

    • @Stunner5D
      @Stunner5D 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Yassen Mubarak Yes. An increase in the amount of Carbs that you are eating will lead to greater water weight retention; but so does high sodium/low water intake. A lot of things affect weight and water retention. Just think; 3500 calories = 1 pound of actual weight. I only use scales at the start of my diet just to get an idea of what calories to work with then I throw em' out. Waaaayyyy toooo much inconsistency with it

I just had a quick question, would u recommend just jumping up into eating at maintenance calories or should I do more of like a reverse diet and slowly increase? Also did the weight gain end up going away after your body adjusted?

    Hey Erik, i'm 20 kilo's under the normal weight of my age and lenght. Everybody said I had to eat more, but I didn't want it! After a few weeks my mom decided to go to a dietician, and i got a feeding schedule now. The problem is that I'm not hungry all of the time, and my stomach hurts so much every time when I eat, because I have to eat and drink so much more now. what can I do?

      Lol you can't tell him your weight n expect him to know.Lol it depends on if you've got the behaviours or,Do you think you have a healthy relationship with food.The reason you any tell by weight alone is because someone might have more muscle that is heavier then fat.As yourself if you're always thinking about food,why you're Guna eat and obsessed about weight loss.If the answer is Yh ,then you probably do but,if not stay on track,eating dissorders are the worse thing ever,you feel sh*t whatever eating disorder it is!Remember food is only energy and if you really do have issues with food eat a lot of healthy food,just make sure you eat enough!that is number 1 priority!

My bones are sticking out like crazy though, and I know it doesent look good... The reason why I still think I need to lose weight is because I do not have a six pack.
