    I love this idea. It can help beginners practice of the mountain before going. I have been trying to get my friend better at it but she is so intimidated by the mountain when we get out thefe6and loses confidence. I think if she was able to practice with this she would feel braver out there. Great idea!

    this actually overcomes one of the major problems with freebords; the fact that they are no good on flatland. They are really difficult to push. So this could be of interest to those wanting to commute with a freebord. Maybe.

    Swinging your back arm back and forth like that is very bad snowboarding form, but can help you get the rear of the board around in a tight spot. Is the person riding this board just not a great snowboarder or is that what it takes to get the rear of this board around? I'm guessing it's the latter.

    Cool. Unpractical, but cool to see inventions in this category. However, being strapped on a skateboard even partially blows this. Falling technique on a hard surface is sure as hell not sliding to a stop like on a snow with a snowboard. Hope to see a winter version of an electric skateboard. Or snowboard.

    "All they did was take a skateboard and add a motor!" Let me explain what's wrong with this statement.
    First of all, if that's literally all they did, it wouldn't run. No power. Literalism aside, it's not a simple task of putting a motor on a board. You need to somehow link it to a sufficient power source to get it up to 20mph and sustain. And the drive on those motors has to be able to turn 360 degrees. If you have any legitimate knowledge of mechanical devices, then you know that that isn't actually as simple as it sounds. You need to have a drive that can function at any angle of rotation, and have a power supply that maintains contact at all times and doesn't skip. That means either no wires and plated power (Discs that transfer the power), jack power (like the old iPod shuffles and those huge ass charging bases), or complicated wiring that takes more knowledge to get wired than most people possess. Then there's the issue of the remote. That's a custom remote. It had to be programmed, linked to the board, and made so that if people potentially have two, they don't interfere with each other. Then comes programming the board. IT isn't just a giant power pack on the board. It's a processor, not necessarily huge, but there are batteries, a small motherboard to hold the electronics, and then there is the board itself. While freeboards may have 360 rotation, they don't come with a way to just strap a motor to the wheels and integrate a power supply. Give these people credit for something that honestly is quite a nice product.

      If I will put engine on bicycle, can I say I invented the bicycle itself? It's quite a stuff to put proper engine on bicycle from scrap, you know. Etc and so on... The guy on vid should say: We took FREEBORD and worked on putting engine on it so you can ride on flat ground. And with all respect, do you own a Freebord? IF you don't you should buy one. And take a look on how the 360 wheels work. There is NOTHING complicated about putting gear there. Okay?

  • @cedtup

    I can't see this being practical as the main idea of a freebord is to go down hill. This board probably can't go downhill at fast speeds as you'd probably wreck the motor since motors aren't supposed to be forced to spin. The whole point of a freebord is to brake and take control of your speed by slowing down when needed. This board will make you do both braking and accelerating simultaneously which isn't very efficient and seems entirely unneeded and useless. Also, the sliding aspect of this board seems extremely irrelevant at this point since a motor is placed in. Maybe I'm missing the point of this product. Someone tell me if I am...?

    • @adrian-uv3lr
      @adrian-uv3lr 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So if the point of a free board is to go downhill, imagine a free board that can go everywhere

    you can't advertise a product without saying that you bought a freebord and put a motor on it. that's stealing someone's product. I will contact freebord and tell them that you are selling their product without even mentioning their company. they started this they invented the freebord you just strapped a motor to it and advertised that you invented the product.

    Skateboards can go in any direction.. you can slide to a stop on a skateboard and the comfort of concrete? Have you ever eaten shit on concrete? There's nothing comfortable about it. This is an electronic skateboard/longboard it has nothing to do with a snowboard they dont have wheels and you ride them on snow. Who's the marketing genius backing this crew?

    • @Codgerism
      @Codgerism 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, it's just a knock off of a Freebord with a motor added to it. Actual Freebord's have a lot more in common with snowboards than they do with skateboards. The only way they're similar to skateboards is the fact that they both have wheels and trucks. The way they work is identical to a snowboard; the edge wheels grip and give you control and the castor wheels allow you to drift effortlessly just like a snowboard, not like a skateboard which makes you lose all speed when you slide.

    • @xMrJanuaryx
      @xMrJanuaryx 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No way man. There are more differences between a freeboard and a snowboard that your not accounting for then there are between a freeboard and a skateboard. They may have more in common with a snowboard then a skateboard does but that's it.

    • @Codgerism
      @Codgerism 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nah you don't know what you're talking about. I ride all three of them. If you put a skater on a freebord they won't even be able to turn it, a snowboarder on the other hand will be carving and sliding in no time. Freebording basically IS snowboarding on the streets.

    • @xMrJanuaryx
      @xMrJanuaryx 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a matter of physics not opinion. Snowboards have no wheels and can go downhill sideways feeboards do have wheels and produce endless amounts of friction in comparison to snowboards.

    • @Codgerism
      @Codgerism 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, it's physics: snowboards and freebords can go downhill sideways, skateboards can not (at least not without producing heaps of friction and losing momentum). Freebords actually produce LESS friction than a snowboard so yeah I don't know what you are going on here..
