Top job, never easy these, especially with that rough wall surface, time and patience make for perfection. Great job. 👌🏻👌🏻

Hi guys, many thanks for another informative video. Can you suggest how I can stop getting the "orange peel" finish when I am putting emulsion paint on internal walls. Walls are clean, previously painted flat plasterboard and I have this problem using Dulux Matt Emulsion or Leyland Trade Contract Matt. I am applying it using a medium pile roller (Screfix/B&Q). I have just painted our cloakroom and now faced with sanding it back down and recoating. Cheers, Dave.

Dave, a good start is to water your emulsion down. When cutting in with the brush first, use a good quality synthetic brush (don't skimp on this) and don't forget to lay off as you go. This will help eliminate brush marks. With the roller you might want to think about investing in good quality Hamilton, wooster or purdy and get a few different pile lengths and experiment. When rolling make sure you work up and down the wall with long sweeping strokes and really spread that paint as the thicker you put it on the thicker and more artex like it'll dry. Lots and lots of practice is needed to get a great finish with the right brushes and rollers. Experiment and have fun with it. 👍
