    Thank you Simon I am a returning ceramicist and have decided in my retirement to try and resurrect my throwing skills. I have not thrown for over twenty years. Your You Tube videos are exvellent and I have been inspired by them. Thank you.

    What I like about your posts Simon is that you are prepared to show the "warts and all" in your throwing. It's almost the most instructive aspect for me.

    Thank you again Mr. Simon Leach for being such an inspiring and generous teacher by sharing your knowledge and skills; You are one of the best teachers around! I have been pretty good at pulling and attaching handles and making bowls, etc, for a number of years; but every time I review one of your videos I improve yet again! I have learned so much from your videos and from your book over the last few years that I wish I were of greater means that I could settle an appropriately large sum of money upon you in thanks; Alas, I am poor!
    I really appreciate all the free information, but the body of work that you have created out here on TH-cam is priceless! Part of me thinks you should take ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS and just put them on a DVD or a ZIP DRIVE and make them available for sale, or sell a subscription on your own server with a yearly membership fee. It would surely be worth it and you certainly deserve to profit from all of your hard work! Even though you have them here on TH-cam, I would still purchase them simply for the convenience of having all the videos together and to ensure that I would never lose them in the future; you never know where the internet may go in the years ahead. I think many of the people that follow you would purchase them too! It would be a great gift to a potter; you could issue them by YEAR. Something to think about! If I ever win the lottery there will be a big cash prize coming your way! Anyway, thanks again!

    Thanks again! The plate tip is a great idea for larger pieces on my shimpo aspire.

      I am thinking this will not work actually on the Aspire because of the shape of that wheel.

      I'm having trouble negotiating the pins on the wheel head. My bowls mostly fall in that area. Thanks! Wanda

    Simon, Thank you for demonstrating how to solve a challenging problem, knowing how to solve this particular situation will be very helpful. I think the bowl turned out beautifully. I like the texture. How do you think you will glaze it? Could you please show us how it turns out after it is fired. Also, thank you for showing us the different things to watch for when you are trimming a large bowl such as this. Have a good day and Have fun in Boston!

    Simon, I thought you were going to get a hammer out to raise the wheel head :D. I was thinking "That would be interesting" :-)?
    Good job!

    Thanks for another great clip Simon !wtaching you raise the bat gave me an idea..... for a extendable wheel head shaft......!so that you can pull the wheel head up when triming larger bowls. a tube over the main shaft with notches (steps) and a tension spring to pull it into the notche.......?

      On second thought , to complicated. better way wheel head with deeper mounting flange ...loosen set screw ..raise wheel head tighten set screw. Sorta like the seatpost on a bike...

    Hi Simon, are your bats wooden?

    • @sleachpots
      @sleachpots  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi - yes they are made from cherry wood by an Amish friend of mine.

      Sorry I thought you did mean my paddles, no not cherry but a kind of wood pulp that is compressed. Most if them are like that some are plastic bats.

    Jeez, almost half the time spend to watch a bat being brought up to the right hight is not what you want to see. The potter seems quite unorganized. Pity.
