- Stand Up Paddle Boarding SUP Downwinding in Lake Superior just outside of Duluth, Minnesota. I was riding with Lake Superior Surfski @ttrayn1000 and had an awesome surprise summer session! Tim gave me a lift back for another short run following this and it may have been my last foiling downwinder here before moving back to the east coast.

Looks like a great run!
You’re comment about being higher on the mast is right on. Longer glide and smoother pumps. Looking stable on that KT.
Something I've been working on is riding higher! Always have that nagging feeling of breaching - got to just start pushing it more
I love the low perspective, shows the speed and gives an idea of how you are using the waves. Probably just as well you didn’t go to the bridge, Sky Harbor had a strong south wind at 1700.
I'll get back sometime to go under the bridge again! Great riding with you, Tim. Looks like the Gorge has turned on for you out there already!
yew!
Very cool! I live a little north of Marquette MI and want to start figuring out downwinders between Big Bay and Marquette (starting with wing foiling, not good enough at SUP yet :) ). What was the significant wave height forecast for that day? What wind speed / swell size do you look for where its worth an attempt?
@@chrisloubser7209 if I remember correctly we had a building NE wind throughout the day. That direction can get pretty local to that section on the north shore. I know if I see 12-15+knots and have at least a 6 mile fetch of wind there will be rideable conditions. More wind and more fetch make it that much better
