Right, investing with the help of a specialist set me up for life, retired as a millionaire at 55. I worked hard everyday as a teacher for 32 years and my salary was over 100k annually, until the 2020 covid lockdown. Although I wouldn't have supplemented my income with stocks and alternative investments if it wasn't for the rona crisis. I always find the Positive in every situation. As recession fears mount on Wall Street and inflation remains well above the Fed's 2% target, some of the top commentators in markets, business, and economics have been sounding off on just how bad they think the next downturn might be - and how far stocks may have to fall. I need ideas and advice on what investments to make to set myself up for retirement, my goal is to have a portfolio of at least $850k at the age of 60.

I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

When the Great Depression and other huge catastrophes occurred, I used to believe that everyone went bankrupt, but they didn't... Some made millions; I also assumed that everyone closed their businesses during these times, but certain did start new ones. It all depends on your point of view; there will always be moments of prosperity for some individuals and times of depression or recession for others. My main concern now is how can we generate more revenue during quantitative times? I can't afford to see my life savings of $200k crumble to dust.

Being frugal is just becoming conscious of where you spend your money and cutting back on the things that really bring no joy to your life and are costing you extra money for no reason. This doesn't mean you can't enjoy your life and spoil other people, it just means you're more conscious. Great video Humphrey!

Instead, he suggests index funds and other large compilations of stocks and bonds and then just leave it alone. Adjust risk/reward tolerances, but don’t worry about timing or beating the market. The longer money is left in and left alone, losses will disappear with time.

I am regretting not investing in stocks ever since but still grateful i kept money in the money market. With about $200k maturing soon, i plan investing in the stock market. What stocks should I look into as a newbie to safely grow my money?

The team at Cognitive Hacks was knowledgeable and supportive throughout the entire credit repair process. I couldn't have done it without them.

Honestly, the tip about having a sandwich without chips or a soft drink is great. I started doing that a few weeks ago.
And thank you for the McDonald's app suggestion! $0.99 for a coffee is great, since I'm paying $2-$4 every time for one right now!

Ugh, the $0.99 coffee deal doesn't seem to be available in my area! Never experienced that before! :(

I'm new here; maybe 4 videos deep and I'm really glad that you say things that I've begun implementing independently. I can give myself a pat on the back for that one. I'm excited to learn more from here; you have my attention :)

Asfar as frugality goes what helps me a lot is to multiply everything times 10. If i feel like that thing is still worth it or at least bearable I'll buy it.
If not ill look for cheaper alternatives and repeat the process until i either find something at a price i can accept or i just don't buy it.
The reason i use this particular idea is because for me every cent i possess has the capability of growing exponentially through compound interest.
That 4.00 Starbucks coffee doesn't seem nearly as appealing once you realize it could cost you an additional 36.00 in additional wealth over time.
Ill stick to brewing my own cheap generic coffee at home and retire early.

Doing what you do at McDonald’s could save me 5 bucks a day by not going to Starbucks. For that alone thank you 🙏🏻
