- Hey guys! In this video, we will share with you our love story and how we met each other way back in 2016. Let us share with y’all our experiences as Fil-American couple, the struggles that we encountered and how we got through it all, and how we made our relationship stronger in the past 7 years.

Beautiful story . I met my asawa in London UK . We’ve been together 11 years . Married 9 years this July . She changed my life for the better and I’m very grateful for that .we’re here in the Philippines right now to celebrate my asawas birthday with her family . I love it here can’t wait to retire here for good in Bataan 😊

Funny you should say that. I didn't realize just how interesting it was till I made the vlog and then sat down with my wife and watched it. No way all that happened by chance. God had to be involved and I am glad he was!

Thank you Frank, appreciate you watching sir! I am hopeful as well, that Jenn stays the Jenn I dated for 5 years and have been married to for 3 and a half years. I think the best sign that she will stay true to herself, is the fact that she really had no desire to go to the US for any reason but to meet my family. Her heart will always be in the Philippines and where ever we adventure together!

Hey, I was active duty Air Force, and I have been to the Philippines twice. Now after not being in the Philippines for many years, I have been writing a Filipina Girlfriend for a year, and before seeing your video, I was planning on surprising my girlfriend the same way! 😅 I also have a lot of injuries from the military, and my girlfriend works in a department store. So, I wonder about her getting off work too?!..Since we are both Veterans if you want another friend you got one!..
Thanks for your service and any veteran is already a brother of mine! Yes, it is difficult for them to be able to take time off. They have to be very careful as loosing their job is a real possibility here. They have more than enough young people that they have no issue booting an employee out the door and hiring another. As long as you are sensitive to that, ya'll should be able to work it out. On some of my visits, I just had to be ok with Jenn working her shift and then spending what time she could with me. It always worked out.

Love the story about at the buffet your Filipina will definitely set her empty plate in front of you. We are coming up on our 6 year anniversary but dating 2 years before, so about the same time.
Jen is a beautiful girl even in all your photos, but sitting on your Moms pouch she is just glowing as motherhood fits her.

Thanks brother, yes, beautiful inside and out! Biggest issues I have are if I take more than 10,000 steps in a day, it's usually a bad day. Also getting down and up from the floor is a major challenge. Appreciate you watching!

That’s a great story. Congratulations again. What is your age gap and do you get any grief or disapproving looks. I’m 70 and my wife is 35 and while we don’t get any pushback here in the Philippines I think we will in the USA.
Thanks brother Marc! Well, I am 60 in about 5 months and Jenn just turned 33. Surprisingly enough, I haven't noticed any disapproving looks. I half expected to see some based on others experiences. But one thing I do know about my fellow Texans, they are just friendly folks and even if they find it strange, they are more likely to just keep it to themselves. Regardless, things like that don't phase me in the least. Most of my family have been very accepting of Jenn and Genesis and they are loving it here.
@@rickbaker0217 That’s great. We are moving to McKinney, TX on June 30, to start our new life in the USA.. My wife is very excited and I prefer life here but this move is for my wife and kids for the opportunities the US offers. I’m on SS and the kids, 7 & 9 will receive a little over $1,250 a month plus COLA’s until they graduate HS. We will spend most of that for a while remodeling the family home on Lubang Island. That’s why I was asking you about Genesis.

Congratulations you two!!!! I have a question and a comment or two. My wife of 3 years this July has two children ages 7 and 9. When we get to the USA, soon I hope, I will file a SSA-4-BK to get my stepchildren Social Security Benefits which will pay about $1,250 each until they graduate High School, a lot of money. My question for you is do you qualify for additional retirement benefits for either Genesis or you? How about for the new Baby? I ask because I just happened to mention this to another TH-camr who has a minor child and didn’t realize this was a Benefit. Long story short the amount is life changing especially if you collect at 62 because the children’s benefit is based on what your FRA Benefit so it effectively doubled his benefit including his wife’s benefit as a minor care giver.
My situation is a tad bit different. I have a Texas Educators pension and when I pass, Jenn and Genesis will receive nothing from it going forward. As a Texas Educator retiree, I am not eligible to draw on my Social Security, even though I am vested in it. But when I pass, and my pension stops, then my wife and dependents will be eligible for SS benefits. Additionally my military and disability both will provide benefits to Jenn, Genesis and our soon to come, Benjamin! Bottomline, they should be financially covered when I go to hang out with Jesus!
Rick, I heard that you recently got the pleasure of meeting one of best people on the planet, my Ate Gina. She met you and your wife at Barksdale. Your wife commented on how good Gina looks for being 58. Anyway, her husband is my best friend and we have known each other for nearly 30 years, serving at 2 bases together. Gina said it was great meeting you and both of you were extremely nice to everybody.

Oh I had to laugh you stayed at the same holiday inn in Singapore as we did In Little India. I had an assignment at the time in 2019 in Delhi India and we took vacation so I could take my wife for her first trip to Singapore. As we would ride the metro in Singapore they announced the stops in Chinese which my wife can speak. Every time they announced the stop for little India my wife would say, no it’s not little India it’s better India because as you experienced everything in Singapore is clean.
Ha, yes, so true. It is better than the real place. But, just as crowded! Really enjoyed our time there and the food was awesome! Small world Mark!
I have been watching some of your videos today and really liked them and the story you tell. I was wondering if you would recommend a way to get in touch with gilrs from the Philippines?
Can't say I am an expert in that area, but I met Jenn on a website called Filipina Cupid. We stopped using that platform after we met, as I was inundated with messages from other ladies and I really just wanted to get to know here better. Eventually I came to visit here and that led to a 5 year long distance relationship. I suppose if I were to do this now as an already retired person, I might just come here to travel and see the country. I would think that it would be better to meet someone in their own environment. Hope that helps!

That's a good question and I honestly thought they would have a problem with it. But surprisingly, they didn't. They absolutely adore Jenn and Genesis and they know I am happy, so that seems to be there focus.

So im 70 percent va disability service connected ptsd..so i can get my medicine and care at the va in manila?
Only on your service connected disabilities brother. Manila is just a clinic so they will do your twice yearly checkups and send you your meds. Anything requiring surgery, etc., related to your disabilities, will have to be done out on the economy by way of the Foreign Medical Program, which you have to apply through Denver.

Hi Maria, yes, it was The Wedding People. But I am not sure they are still up and running post pandemic. If not, there should be others out there.
So, the arriving a day or two early, was that to verify/confirm there wasn’t another guy in the picture living there? That’s what I surmised, but could be wrong just a guess.
I have heard of people doing that, but honestly, I just like to surprise people . Nothing else even crossed my mind, but the positive was there was no one else unless she ran them out three days before my arrival 🤣.

Can you explain how did you became disabled ?
33 years of military service, 18 of which were in combat units, takes a toll on the body. To give you more detail would take several vlogs, but somethings I just don't care to share with the world. Hope you can understand!
