You shouldn't recommend upgrades you've never tried. Shoe goo and drywall tape prevents body damage, but it will not save that back end. You need exterior protection for that. The stock shocks perform very well, the main reason to upgrade is durability, not performance. You don't need a program card, you can make all those adjustments straight on the ESC. The Hot Racing motor mount does get bent, CRCU or M2C motor mounts are much stronger. RPM arms are a great upgrade if you're breaking stock arms, but you get quicker steering response and higher ride height with the stiffer stock arms.
Well, I've seen many other people's videos trying out the upgrades I included in this video, and I researched them before making this video. I also wanted to have a wide variety of upgrades for viewers to decide which ones they wanted to purchase. In the end, you might have a point. Thanks for the constructive criticism! 😉👊👍
This truck is awesome. Shims for the wheels if there’s wiggle are excellent . Did it to the kratons wheels . The little shims that go behind the wheel pin and set on the outer wheel bearing . Perfect 👍
Thank you for the fantastic information about the Granite I will be getting here tomorrow. Do you have any videos or suggestions about the laegenary legend 1/10 car? Thank you again.
Get some good big bore metal shocks. Seal up the bottom opening of the spur case. Locktite the axle yokes. Should be good after those three things. The stock plastic shocks work ok when new but start to leak pretty quickly.
I just bought my ARRMA Granite the other day and did the Shoe Goo upgrade and let me tell you it does save the body . I have done the upgrade to my Vorteks and it saves my body
How easy is it to install the upgraded servo? I'm just getting into RC cars. I'm very handy and have all the tools needed, but im just curious how in depth of an install it is? If it's a simple plug and play im confident i can do it. If there's tuning involved, I may need guidance.
Yooooo awesome video like always , nice choice my guy!!!,, I also did the shoo goo and drywall tape hack , it works like a charm no doubt , definitely worth the effort
Bougt one totday, a green one, i did have a blast White it, loads off fun, and very stabiel and easy to get the car out of a spin or bad taken turn, a litlle bit off trotlle, makes the car go strait again, great buy and will gives a lot off hours of fun.
Why would you want tires with more ballooning when that just rubs on the body more? Might want to consider installing extended wheel hubs to give it more clearance in this case.
I say if you're a beginner in RC and new to the hobby, then start out with the 550 mega version. But if you're a little more experienced, then I agree, the 3s BLX is the one for you! Thanks for the comment! 👍😉
For the shocks you can get a set of Kraton 6s Fronts and throw them in the rear and Mojave 6s Fronts and throw them in the front! Thatll be your best bang for buck shock upgrade. The prolines have some pretty terrible reviews for some reason 👍 I would also go as far as to recommend every new arrma user to change out the stock motor bearings as they are known to fail in this particular motor. Not an easy task per sé but with patience can be done by anybody :)
If u want to improve battery time before it dies, dont use tour brakes as often as I'm pretty sure it uses up alot of power and you regain some power from just letting it roll to a stop it lasts like 15 minutes before and if I dont use breaks as often I can go for like 45 minutes
Just got my green Granite BLX 2 weeks ago. It's a blast to drive! Definitely need to buy a spoiler to save the backend. I got the Outcast 4s wing, wing mount, and hardware. Bolted right up! Also purchased RPM Typhon A-arms and longer turnbuckles (installing this fri) Should widen the stance a bit to help it perform even better! Plus it's gonna look killer! Next upgrade will be some PL Badlands for sure! -Keep on bashing!
Nice! A wing and those rpm arms will really transform your Granite. I'm glad you're getting badlands too, because that's probably my favorite upgrade I've done on mine. Thanks for watching! 👍
@@airbornerc4654 I like how you didn’t choose a common number like 5 or 10. 😂 8 works perfectly 👍. 😝 Just got to the chassis skin part.. and DANG!!! That looks awesome!
@@bigandcoolrcschool294 Yeah, I thought 8 was a good number to fit all the upgrades I thought were good. I agree, the chassis skin looks so good! We're going to be testing it out in the next video 👍
@@airbornerc4654 Cant wait for that!! About the program card, does it work for any ESC? I g it one with my Mojave exb, and I was wondering if I could use it on other cars. I have never done research on it, so I assume you would know best, bc you used it. (I didn’t use mine on my Mojave)
No mention of the gears needing replacement 😢 that is a must with this monster. As soon as you put this beast on 100% it blows the gears and strips the tires right off, every real BLX 3s Granite owner nows this so I'm guessing this was a good guess as to what you needed to upgrade and you hadn't run it yet
That’s crazy talk only the LWB and 4s I don’t know what the heck you guys do . I probably had 200 packs before I changed the ring and pinion on the original granite , I just rebuilt it today and used the one from the brcc because on 4s you can strip it eventually but it’s super cheap and you guys are better off changing it with the carrier and new bearings from a wholesale. Once you start extending adding power and rotating mass than you could use the steel gears , I’m on the fence adding mx28s .
The Granite is back! Were there any upgrades you wish I included? Comment down below 👍
Traxxas Maxx tailguard protector
I just want mine faster with maxrun time. What do u recommend for charger and battery?
You can program the ESC without anything extra. There are steps in my Senton manual. Same ESC. And they work great!
Yep, that is true, though I feel that the esc program card is a little more reliable. Thanks for watching! 👍😎
Where do u get the card for programer
Wouldn't it be less reliable considering needing a whole party instead of just pushing a few buttons like it says to?
It's kind of like adding a headlight to a headlight to get a light that already has a light..
Aluminum pivot balls are a must. The plastic ones wear out quickly and make for even more slop than the truck already had
Good idea! We might have to get those sometime 😉👍

I had rpm arms on my slash 4x4 ultimate and they made a huge difference. Awesome video thanks!

Haven’t done a thing to mine yet. It’s so tough out of the box I’m in no hurry
And that's awesome too! The only thing is when you do end up breaking something, that's when you should probably start upgrading.
Excellent talk about the Granny..I've done about 2. shocks to 32kg servo... the current upgrade is a metal spur
Thanks! Glad you upgraded your shocks, in my opinion that's probably the most important upgrade. Thanks for the comment! 😉👍
@@airbornerc4654 Absolutely makes a big difference in the handling for sure😁
I don’t want a metal spur, it makes the car so load.. if it’s plastic I like to keep it plastic
@@marktsarenko3943 Its ok too keep things plastic they do bend more but you can also strip them more often. But some do like it loud👍
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT ALL THE STUFF I HAVEN'T DONE.
That said. Thanks. Super helpful.
Lmao I tried to put as many upgrades as I could in the video, even some I hadn't done yet. But glad the video helped! 👍

I have the 550, just buy the 3s blx, it cost 100$ more and I ended up spending almost 450 just to make it like the blx

Awesome this video my rc friend😁🤩🥰
do u use nd filters or something? all your videos have a unique color to them
Yep, we do use ND filters!
Very good video if you did not know you can program your rc car with out a programming card there are videos on TH-cam!

Slipper clutch and motor mount first. Then diff oil then run it. After... well its your truck. You decide. 😏
