There are windy areas all over Colorado Springs and Monument:) Especially in the springtime. It is often more severe on a ridge or in an open plain area. Honest COS review: Keep in mind that "winter" is 7 months of the year. There is not 4-seasons. Fall is maybe 2-weeks and spring is also a blink. If gardening is something you enjoy at all, do not consider COS. Nothing lush about this town. Very dry and unkept. The majority of homes do not have grass at all. Did you mention your electric bill those 7 mos. of winter? Everyone complains about how difficult it is to make friends here. People of all ages and lengths of time that have lived here. Very military community and folks keep to themselves. There is a true hate for folks not from here and they are proud of it. Very sad.
Fall is my favorite time of year here 😍. Utilities on a 3600sqft home are about $450 a month year round. Gardening is difficult but I do grow peppers, tomatoes, onions and lettuce each year. Our growing season is June- end of September. Sounds like Colorado may not be for you:))
