What a great variety of fishing techniques, those Giant Gobies are mental ! I’ve often wondered what those dark flashes are that streak across a rock pool when you surprise them , who even knew things like that was in there ! FAB suggested I try the Millpond in Looe for them , to learn the ropes as it were for a complete newbie , I’m just a bit aware of looking even more of a novice amongst the Dads & Kids Crabbing in there, suppose I have to start somewhere 😬
Thanks Stephen. They are really brutes of the rockpools! Be wary that its actually illegal to specifically target giant gobies as they are a protected species, but its very difficult to not catch them when you're fishing in the areas they are present for other species 👍
This is some good quality work man, keep it up! Just subbed this is so interesting I've never seen someone do this kind of micro fishing. So many fish I never thought you'd find like that in those pools
You’re lucky ... i live as far as you can from the sea so limited to canals ... more of a lurker than a lerfer 😂 great fun to watch might tak3 my rod on holiday this year 😎
Yeah I'm very lucky to live within an hour of some great fishing mate, I feel your pain though, I used to live up along the very murky Bristol channel, so no chance of LRF there lol.
Nice, will be heading to weymouth mid september, last session there was as good as I expected all species planned were cought, wrasse, scad , maki, gars , seabass, really looking forward to go back
Thanks mate, sounds like you did well down at Weymouth. I'm hearing there tomorrow, gonna scale down and see what I can find around the piers and then probably chuck some metal around in the afternoon 👍🎣
@@audriulis nice one mate. Do you find fishing better on the outside or inside of the pier? I had a good few Gar on the inside on metals in April but wouldn't mind picking up something different tomorrow 👍
Hi mate, I'm flattered that you got an lrf setup after watching my videos! I was fishing off the left hand arm of Newquay harbour mate, I only had Weever this time but a couple of years ago I also had Pollock, Mackerel and little Black Bream just dropping down the side. It's a really great spot 👍
lovely vid ..really like the way youve shown lures used -hate watching lrf vids and theres no info on them ..jighead size ?3g size 6 hook ??????i make my own so would like to know ..well done
Thanks mate. I'm trying to include more info in my vids where I can, its a work in progress 😁 the jigheads I was using for the rockpools were actually 1g with a size 10 hook. Seems about right for the rockpools. Tight lines 👍🎣
Not too bad mate. I just use my fishing pliers to grab the hook then just shake them off into the water. They do give me the shivers though when I catch them 🤣
Cheers Alan, I've always found that fishing lures slowly has worked best for me and tend to get takes on the long pauses between "twitches". I also find the movement of the water often gives a lure enough action without having to flick the rod tip. I think quite a few anglers possibly put a bit too much action into a lure and end up either scaring or moving a lure away from a fish before its had chance to hit 👍
@@alanfielding3491 I've caught one Flounder, from an estuary. They are a bit of a nemesis of mine but I'm hoping to get to grips with them a bit more this year! Hope you manage to find a few mate 👍🎣

Them gobies are monsters

Nice one Richard enjoying the videos, keep at it mate 👍
Thanks mate, I'm working on it, struggling a bit for material at the moment though 🤣
Another great vid mate, really enjoyed it.

I caught some giant gobys up to a foot long.
That's awesome! Would love to find some that big! 👍🎣
How hard was it to unhook the weervers with the posin spines
Not too bad mate. I just use my fishing pliers to grab the hook then just shake them off into the water. They do give me the shivers though when I catch them 🤣
What do you use (bait) to catch the gobies?
The most effective is stuff like isome but gobies can be aggressive and take any small lure presented in the right way.
Great vid, you seem to catch a lot of fish when the bait is static, is this normal or am I missing the action you are putting into the bait.

Nice job what size hooks do ye use for this. Cheers
Thanks mate, I usually use a size 14 or 16 for dropshotting for the small stuff. I was using a 1g jighead with a size 10 hook for the Rockpools 👍
Cheers mate I do use size 16 and always have to use a discordger just taught I was going to small I'll have to get me strikes early. Thanks mate.
@@daviddevine1757 no worries mate, I find I avoid deep hooking with dropshot mostly, but yeah striking earlier should do it too 👍
Here in holland u got big gobys like 12 cm
