While £18000 is a stupid amount of money, nearly double what I paid for my 2016 AT, I just configured a BMW 1300 GS on their website with several but not all the options on offer and it came to around £22,000. Also if you want an auto box you aren't going to get one anywhere else, and you can virtually guarantee the Beemer will have a number of expensive faults in it's lifetime and the ATAS won't.

DCT is shockingly good. Try it to know how much this bike is better than a 1300gs.

It does add weight, but then with the 19 inch front might not be as (AS) noticeable as before.

As always, congratulations on the video.
I live in Brasília, capital of Brazil. In August 23, I purchased an África Twin DCT, non-adventure, in black. It has that thin tank and is very agile. In traffic and when maneuvering, it's fantastic, much better than the Multistrada and the GS 1250 that I've already owned. I was very prejudiced against the automated DCT transmission, but now I don't want to change it anymore. They are easy to maneuver, looking like a low-displacement motorcycle. I just don't think she's very pretty.
In November I made the round trip from Brasília to Foz do Iguaçu, traveling more than 3400 km and the 18.8L tank provides a range of more than 320km, which is above the 250km that I like to travel until the next refueling, to stretch the legs and hydration, good autonomy was one of my biggest concerns. My first fill is always in the city of Catalão GO, which is 305 km from my house. I like the low bubble, I'm very warm. Only, during long trips, I install that bubble extension deflector for greater protection against wind and rain. I don't feel the slightest lack of other electronics or more power and the only thing I would change is the fact that the wheels are with tubes, maybe I'll keep it until one comes out with tube tires for me to change, in Europe they will be launched in 2024. Motorcycle with very fun cycling.
In addition to all this, the panel is double because this is the only big trail in the world that has car play and Android Auto. I think it's wonderful to mirror your cell phone on the touch panel with Waize, Google Maps, Spotify, WhatsApp, etc. You configure it as you wish. You still have the main information in the small panel below.

How much Honda pay to you for writing this ?

  • @Enduro_BALLISTIC

That price is really idiot for the bike, I understand that someone can afford 16 000+ euro for the bike with lot of features it's ok, but many rides like me would be more than OK with the standard version but the problem is the PRICE wtf is that price for the basic version??? There are too many unnecessary things on basic version which makes the bike stupid expensive .

Peak hp at 7500 where the bmw peak hp at 7750. All very same same but who gets there? Who?
Where torque at 5500 in lieu of 6250 is the big one. The torque will get you out of trouble the hp will be relatively unreachable to the average rider.

I had previously the Multistrada 1260S with loads of more HP. Now i have the 2023 AT Adventure Sports, and in SIII, and the correct spm, this bike runs fantastic! Not that big of a difference to the Ducati.

If it were not for the wide trade-in gap between my low mileage upgraded and fully farkled ‘18 Africa Twin and the ‘24, I’d buy the new offering. But, the devaluation gap is way too wide and my ‘18 way too good. It’s a keeper!

the Darkness(Black)/Gold 2021 ATAS is gorgeous bike, so black is beautiful on an AT bike rather it's base model or adventure sports version.

Honda will offer both bikes with manual or DCT in certain markets. That is yet to be determined till the bikes start showing up at dealerships.

I've had my 2018 ATAS for 3 years now. Awesome bike. I've spec'ced it to full off-road mode and regularly take her on the TET and Alpine trails. Yes she's big and heavy but if you ride it like you stole it, you'll get why this is such an amazing bike. Fantastic chassis. Incredible engine. I've toured and off-roaded with many different bikes, GS included, and this is by far the best. A Tiger 900 came close but I just prefer the big enduro feel of the AT's twin. The new ATAS doesn't interest me at all. Leave that one to the coffee shop brigade. But the standard one in rally spec looks like it could be a blast!

100HP is objectively plenty for the real world. I have never struggled to pass, and I can reach "go to jail" speeds quickly enough if I want to. That said, and while I recognize this is completely silly and irrational-I do sometimes find myself pining for the _excessive_ power that I've had on other machines (namely a Multistrada, couple Monsters, and an S1000). I've had bikes that I never once pinned the throttle because I'd have simply been too scared. Do I need that? Absolutely not. Is it kinda fun to have anyway? Yep.
On the other hand, the AT's engine is an absolute jewel in terms of being no-fuss and easy to live with. It sounds fantastic. It drinks 87 octane. It easily handles any amount of altitude, heat or cold that I myself am willing to ride in. It starts on the first try and stays running, 100% of the time, even if it's a little chilly out and I haven't touched it in a month. It's perfectly happy to chug along at any RPM and speed I choose. It goes tens of thousands of miles with nothing but gas and oil. None of those things has been true of higher-performance machines I've owned and ridden. So at the end of the day, for me it is a worthwhile trade.

Honda has prepared an updated Africa Twin for 2024. It also came with the Transalp model. Transalp loads the display in 3 seconds and there is no need to confirm a meaningless message. The updated Africa comes with the same meaningless display even after 4 years. Please don't buy an Africa Twin until Honda fixes this problem. otherwise, Honda will not change anything and will only collect money from working people. No other motorcycle in the world has to confirm a message every time it starts and also does not load the display for almost half a minute. Please share. I was convinced that the Africa 2024 would have a display worthy of the price of this bike, but absolutely no change. Please spread this message as Honda cannot be contacted.

It’s always good to start your engine for a minute while the engine heats up before moving off. That will give me enough time to put on my gloves & helmet & press ok & set your navigator & music . Unless you’re robbing a bank , you can always press ok at the next junction 😂
The controls give so much variability. Once set you hardly ever touch the controls.

    • @jurajbaranek5815

@@rajindarsingh1417 You're advocating Honda's lack and I think Honda realizes that. It is simply poorly designed, but they would have to invest money to correct the mistake. However, Honda sold a lot of motorcycles even with such a shortcoming, so it doesn't solve it. I repeat that there is no other motorcycle in the world with such stupidity as confirming some message and with the display loading time. Of course also NT 1100.

    • @SwabbyG
      @SwabbyG 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Honestly you're saying you would pass on this bike due to a 15 sec complete load time on the touch screen display? You do realize it doesn't prevent you from just jumping on the bike and pulling out right? Also the "pop-up" message goes away automatically like 4 secs after it pops up without touching the screen. i think you should ride an AT/ATAS before knocking buying the bike based on that one little and I do mean little quirk! In 23k miles I've had zero mechanical or electrical defects on my 2021 ATAS/ES/DCT and personally i wouldn't take a free truck load of BMW GS bikes for my Honda ATAS! On the fly suspension adjustment without stopping, and one of the most adjustable suspensions for ease and rider comfort on the market, one of the best headlights of ANY heavyweight ADV bike. The heated grips get hot enough to fry bacon on, so I mean I'm not understanding your mindset of telling people not to buy this bike because the load time for the touch screen display of 15 secs. Try KTM bikes and see how the electrical fires treat you instead.
