the cattails and chestnuts around the ponds being crafting items was wild to me. I accidentally clicked on the cat tails. you really just gotta try to click on everything lol
The reason some items aren't showing when you go to a crafting bench is because theres a little icon inside of the chest that allows or restricts it! At 6:02 I can see that your chest there is *locked*, its closed with no arrow sticking out of it, meaning the items are secure and won't be pulled for crafting!
Reasons why I love the cozy gaming community 💗 I realized a night or two after I posted this video that I was using the chests all wrong via a reddit post-- I'm adding this update to my next video and pinning in this description as well-- thanks for looking out ✨
@@jinxedmoth it took myself running up to the blacksmith and wondering why all that iron I had stored away wasnt showing up for me to realize the difference between that chest and my other chests LOL The locking function is really nice if I want to have a chest dedicated to stockpiling things for the request board or a ongoing quest!
THIS WAS MY WHOLE PROBLEM AND IT SUDDENLY SOLVED ITSELF AND IDK WHY AND I JUST CLICKED THIS VIDEO BECAUSE I LOVE INTERACTING WITH OTHER FANS BUT YOU ARE THE BEST
if you want even more wood you can also chop down the trees outside of your farm! they respawn the next day just like the big boulder in front of the museum ^^
Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to creating many more! :D Some fun lore about this first video: The program I use crashed several times throughout editing. It lagged so hard towards the end that I could only replay a few seconds before having to save, quit, and reopen to edit another few seconds. It was MADDENING. I almost quit there, but then once I uploaded this video, that program decided to work perfectly fine and never gave me trouble since. 💖
It took me finishing the first season to realize that you only need one stamina to fish, which means the berries can let you fish infinitely at almost no stamina cost. I haven't finished this video yet so idk if that's what you're gonna talk about but if not EAT THEM BERRIES
Somehow I missed the mining and combat trees? I guess i know what to do with all this "extra" essence. Best tip I've picked up: collect coconuts from the beach all summer long, sell 1 and get the coconut milk recipe. Cheap/easy food!
Hello ! at 6:00 I can see in your chest the green potion (with a smile) that you get from reaching the level 10 town renown. This potion gives you +25 permanent energy, don't forget to use it 😄 Good job for your first video !
This is actually a really great tip & thanks for pointing this out to share! Whenever I get stamina potions and crystal hearts, I take them with me to the mines and wait till I reach low energy and then use these up to really use them for all they're worth 😈✨
Wait really? I’ve hoarded the 2 I got because I’m scared of using potions 😭😭 I will definitely use them the next time I go to the mines thankyou sm this is a game changer 💛
That makes me so happy to hear-- I'm glad you like them! :) FoM is such a lovely game and has easily become one of my favorites. I can't wait for the next big update and full release-- they've given us so much to work with already in Early Access! 🤩
These are some brilliant tips. I'll be sure to use them! A fun little side note is also that the creators of the game also made Pusheen, so I am hoping that'll mean we might get plushies at some point. Early access creators received a cozy mug and some plushies. :3
I didn't know that-- that's actually adorable!! I hope they release the plushies up to the public soon / maybe release a skeleton chicken plushie down the line 👀💖
An interesting tip I found elsewhere is to use the sword attack that looks like you're on a pogo stick.(Forgot what it's called) It's not only useful for fighting but it can help remove a lot of dead plants.
I think you have the best FoM content on TH-cam! Please make more! I'm pretty new to the game and your tips are helping me to optimise my game playthrough. Also your voice is not squeaky and annoying which my UK ass appreciates lol :D

Regarding the items not showing up when crafting, it may be because your chest is locked. If the chest is locked, you cannot access the items. (This is a note to anyone! Looks like a few people already pointed this out.)

I have just started playing the early access and I expected to experience some anxiety while playing, because I have generalised anxiety. This is one of very few games, and possibly the only farming sim, I have played without feeling like I need to learn every single detail about how to play before I start.
That's so good to hear! Farming sims should stay exactly just that-- stress free & cozy 💖 The developers have done a really nice job on creating in-game walkthroughs and making everything feel more accessible to players :) Thanks for watching! ✨

My best tip I haven't seen mentioned in most places: there is 2 options for what happens when you hold the button when using a tool - hold for a charge effect, or hold for a repeat action. Only hold to charge has a button assigned in the control settings when you start the game, but hold for a repeat action is more useful at the beginning of the game when you haven't unlocked any charged actions, especially for chopping trees and mining stone. I find them both useful so I have them both assigned to buttons.
That’s a really good tip! I think I stumbled across this recently in the mines… it adds additional block tiles so instead of smashing one rock, it can expand further depending on your upgrade.. right? Or is this something different?
Update: this changed my life and although I recorded audio for my next tips and tricks video yesterday, I'm going back to add this in because this deserves all the recognition 💖

Great video, and you have a lovely voice, so cant wait to see more! Thank you for the tips, I have been playing a couple of days already and had no idea what to do with the shiny beads, now I am off to go feed that statue..lol
@annelienwasserman5209 This comment honestly means everything to me 💖 I podcasted a few years ago and obsessed over audio quality/editing vocal tracks to the point it got so draining to make "perfect" & "radio quality" audio with manual scrubbing of sounds/imperfections I did in the software. I decided to approach TH-cam with a different mindset, because if I can make at least one person happy with how I sound or the info I'm sharing, then I've already accomplished so much. While I'll always struggle with perfectionism (it's just who I've always been), it's truly comments like this that push me forward as a creative. I'll save the rest of the sap for crafting in later game, but def will look back on this comment in future milestones :) Thanks so much for your support & may your chickens bless you with hundreds of shiny beads ❤
Fun video! I’m happy to see that you’re planning to do some subject videos. I am waiting for someone to do one on combat, if that’s a subject that appeals to you.
Thanks so much! I plan on doing a deep dive on the skill tree so the combat branch will be included :D It’s going to take some time to create & max out since combat has definitely been a weaker area for me :’)
This made me want to start a new load and do everything right this time lol I focused way too much on my farm layout at first and wasted a lot of energy and resources on that, also didn't make much money nor finished much of the museum bundles
The beauty of Early Access is we have all the time to learn, get more efficient, and have fun in the process ^__^ but I really feel that lol I had to go back a few times in older saves to build back up!
Yoohooo, welcome welcome. We've been waiting for you! 🎉 I played for a couple of hours until I learned that I can't romance and marry anyone yet 😢. I'm just going to wait a couple of months but nonetheless I'm a sucker for fields of mistria content!
I feel the romance part SO much, and that's usually a main selling feature for me on a game. I'm working on another video about if it's worth playing early access and truly feel like romance here isn't talked about enough. The way I look at it, is I'm going to do "me" and build up my farm, savings, and house before I let someone move into my broken down farm lol (guess that's how my RPG brain works). But at the same time, I love a full cohesive playthough where it's heart event after heart event. It's such a conflict because I cannot stop playing this game 😭
Same brain here.. I was 50-50 and my only convincing argument was that it would be a good chance to take my time and improve my farm, get myself into the character more before I get into romance. In Stardew for example, sometimes it feels like I speed-run the romance part immediately after I start a new game 😭 From what I've seen the game won't be on stable version at least until next year. And even then, delays are very common to happen. And I assume there will be a lot of updates that change something small or adding details, new dialogs, new NPCs etc. So I assume it'll be some time before they finish with at least the main playthrough. I think just by writing about it, I realized there is no way I will be able to hold myself until the end so I'll definitely continue it 😅 I'll be waiting for the new video and congratulations for the good start🎉
OPE I just saw this, glad to hear we have the same brain >:) Literally every save file on Stardew I went straight for the mines to get Seb frozen tears lol I think I'm going to do the same and just play along with the heart events as they update, simply because I cannot hold back. But once it does full release, I'll start a new file again just to re-experience the magic ✨ thanks again :)
Just to add the water chestnuts replenish every THREE days. (I have found that, as of now anyway (9/7/24) Every “forgeable” within the map will replenish in 3 days! (So berries, cattails, water chestnuts, flowers, herbs, pears, peaches, coconuts, etc. season permitting of course for some of these!)
This is a really good tip-- thanks for adding onto this :) It's nice to know that Mistria has a consistent spawn rate for all forageables across the board so we all don't have to have a wiki constantly tabbed when we're plaaying/gathering a bunch of resources. Thanks for watching 💖
Yes, there is! You can put your animals in the daycare, then go back to your farm where little sign on the barn/coop is and interact with it. It'll give you the option to 'destroy' ... which it won't! It will give all your materials back as well as the blueprint it takes to make it. I'll be sure to include this tip in a future video too!
My next video is going to be a continuation of tips and tricks that includes more on this :D Did you know that tier 6 is seasonal color variants of animals!? 🤯 I'm DYING to get the skeleton chicken
@jinxedmoth I'm already helping her restoring the general store, but I can't get in that location just yet... dk why tho bcs I'm in fall and that shark just seems to spawn there.... 😒 but thank u so much 💘🙏🏻
Those purple orbs are essence! When you collect a little purple orb it'll get added to a pool that you'll see in the top right corner of your screen that you can use to spend at the dragon statue on your farm. If you interact with the statue, you'll pull up a list of 7/9 skill branches (the one for mining and combat can be found in the mines). Ranching can be found at the dragon statue on your farm, and if you're not getting shiny beads, you might have to unlock that skill perk :) I have two more videos about the skill tree if you'd like a more detailed or visual guide to follow: Skill tree overview + farming: th-cam.com/video/Ur4m1XcH0ag/w-d-xo.html Ranching skill perks: th-cam.com/video/t88huMpTPuo/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps 💖
The little blue and yellow thing that skirts across? That's a pond skater! I've had Luc ask for one in a quest before. Catching the pond skaters takes a lot of patience and good timing lol
Another tip: ship each type of crop at least once. The day after a character will give you a recipe that uses that crop
Self serve shops is a huge farming sim upgrade. I didn't realize the pick axe worked for archeology. Good tip.
Agreed! Finally, a farm sim game that just gives the people what we want! :D Thanks for watching!
the cattails and chestnuts around the ponds being crafting items was wild to me. I accidentally clicked on the cat tails. you really just gotta try to click on everything lol
There isn't that many things. Just cat tails and chestnuts. That's it for limited resource plants.
But yeah they are very hidden
The reason some items aren't showing when you go to a crafting bench is because theres a little icon inside of the chest that allows or restricts it! At 6:02 I can see that your chest there is *locked*, its closed with no arrow sticking out of it, meaning the items are secure and won't be pulled for crafting!

Wait, there's a locking function? Isn't that icon to rearrange the items?
@@Ginebraxt1 there are 3 buttons. lock from global crafting, sort, delete.

I felt sooo dumb when I finally figured it out 🤣🤣🤣
I spent almost the entire month with a quest for water chestnuts having no idea where to get them lmao
I am glad I wasn't the only one 😅
the eating berries to continuously have 1 energy to keep fishing is so BIG BRAINNNNNN
If you play Palia you can also do the same while cooking and fishing.
if you want even more wood you can also chop down the trees outside of your farm! they respawn the next day just like the big boulder in front of the museum ^^
I didn’t know about the daycare!!! That is legit the best feature I’ve ever seen in a farming game, I never have the heart to sell my animals 😂
Me too I’m so glad

@jinxedmoth I'm already helping her restoring the general store, but I can't get in that location just yet... dk why tho bcs I'm in fall and that shark just seems to spawn there.... 😒 but thank u so much 💘🙏🏻
You're SUPER close to getting to the beach bridge repair request. It comes right after fixing up the general store!
People keep talking about animal beads all I get is purple dots is that similar or different?
Those purple orbs are essence! When you collect a little purple orb it'll get added to a pool that you'll see in the top right corner of your screen that you can use to spend at the dragon statue on your farm. If you interact with the statue, you'll pull up a list of 7/9 skill branches (the one for mining and combat can be found in the mines).
Ranching can be found at the dragon statue on your farm, and if you're not getting shiny beads, you might have to unlock that skill perk :)
I have two more videos about the skill tree if you'd like a more detailed or visual guide to follow:

Hope this helps 💖
i want this on switch
have we figured out who the zoomie guy is, in the rivers?
The little blue and yellow thing that skirts across? That's a pond skater! I've had Luc ask for one in a quest before. Catching the pond skaters takes a lot of patience and good timing lol
@@jinxedmoth I can catch it with my fishing rod?
With your bugnet! :)
@@jinxedmoth ummm... tutorial???
Animals will eat your stuff if you dont harvest them 😐
Nooo I literally just moved my animals closer to my crops to help with a farming workflow 😭
That explains a couple of things in my gameplay, thank you!
