Fun fact. Chickens love eggs IRL. If they taste an egg they start pecking all the eggs open and you have to give them a golf ball to try and get them to stop.
Well, not exactly. If your chicken is eating eggs and "pecking all the eggs open" as you say, it's because they're nutrient deficient in some way and you need to take them to a vet or change their diet to be more balanced. They do like eggs but don't normally go out of their way to eat them the way you describe unless they're not okay.
Yeah you can feed real life chickens back their egg shells and it’s a good source of calcium for them!! But after you make yourself breakfast with the egg’s contents
We love March ^__^ I can't wait until the full release so we can unlock all hearts. His heart events are left at such a cliffhanger for the tsundere trope 🥲
I’ve noticed that when walking, jumping while you walk makes you slower, but with swimming, you end up going slightly FASTER of you spam jump as you swim. Can save time if you’re in the ocean going around five spots
Although the cooking profits leave much to be desired for bigger, harder dishes, there are a few crops that can be made with one item and 0 minutes while also increasing profit by 10 gold per cooked item.
That skeleton chicken is so great. The animal system is so great, especially the toys you can get for them. I love seeing the chickens on the seesaw and I saw a horse and cow playing with the ball together the other day.
You can find the mining and combat skill trees at the broken down dragon statue right when you head into the mines. The jump attack skill will be on the tier 1 skill list under combat :)
Thank you for actually including helpful and new tips !! So many videos I saw just reiterate mechanics/things that the game literally teaches you when you first start playing. This is the first video I saw that taught me new things ! Subscribed 🥺💗
when it comes to cooking, while youre in the cooking menu you can see how much a dish will sell for in the top right corner of its icon and then hover over the ingredients to see how much those sell for raw. lets you do quick mental math instead of having to time travel and see how much you earn both ways (good visual experiment though!). not all recipes sell for more, so being able to check those prices help a lot in deciding what to cook and what to save for another recipe. I don't think ive ever seen a recipe sell for less than the raw total, but there are a few that sell at no profit, like coconut milk is the same as the raw coconut sell price. I personally cook a bunch of eggs to get the restorative bonus from them since its the easiest ingredient to get in bulk but only has a 2t sell price difference which is less of a loss than most other dishes
Totally feel you on this! I did the time travel for the visual / learning purposes :) I'm always doing mental math, it's just a bit of a learning curve coming from different games where cooking is usually a lot more profitable. But, IMO, (while it can be frustrating, wanting to make more money in game) I think it's a nice quirk that ties to the storyline of Mistria's economy after the earthquake. Love the eggs tip you mentioned, it's a great way to level up and make money if you have a chicken army! :D
This is a great video! I almost always hate these guide videos because it feels like ten minutes that can easily be formatted into a list that can be read in thirty seconds, but the way you talked though the explanations and details was really helpful. Also, your character is so cute - we have exactly the same hair! I've never chosen purple hair for a character before in any game but this is such a cute shade of purple haha.
Aww thank you for saying that! I'm glad this video could break the mold for you in some way :) I do plan on breaking these into shorts later on, but that'll be a bridge/learning curve I cross a tiny bit further down the road. Hair twins! ✨ The light purple is my favorite-- I normally I go for a super light pink, silver, or white, but the shades available didn't call out to me as much as this one. I recently swapped over to curls with this color and now I want this shade IRL lolol Thanks again for watching! 💜
Thank you so much and you're very welcome! I'm looking forward to the money making guide but not sure if I should start a new file for a super "authentic" take or go back to an old save lol. We'll see what the vibe is next week :)
so when I got enough money I bought 2 of each tree for each season and I found that Apples (fall) and Pomegranate fruits (winter) can be made into juice for cooking also Cranberries in the fall. this is a great way to max cooking relatively quickly and always have some gifts on hand with the perks from the cooking tree. I have lots of money too.
This tip helped me not worry too much about money and leveled up my renown very quickly. But it's incredibly tedious because you have to press the plus button in the cooking menu A LOT. Everyday buy flour and make bread. When you have a Max cooking skill of 30, you will receive extra bread and flour to make more bread. I chose to sell the regular bread and speed bread. I kept the health and stamina regen bread and the likable gift bread. If you do this you will break even or a little less. If you choose to sell every type of bread, enjoy the huge profits!
I hope a future update lets you see the whole skill tree at the start. I tried to scroll down when I played the first time and was disappointed. Thanks for the tips!
I feel the same! I love the ability to look ahead and strategize. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings in this that I plan on sharing in a review down the line- so glad this video could help 💖
You have a soothing voice and these tips were unique and useful! A perfect video. I'm glad you've been enjoying Fields of Mistria, I've been finding it so soothing to play.
RE: Cooking. There is also that "Waste Not Want Not" perk that can also give you back some ingredients for free, which I think makes the "lower profits" more fun. If cooked goods were super profitable, it could be far too strong.
I love this perspective! Thanks for sharing. I’m currently working on a mini series about the skill tree and its perks and cooking is 3rd on my list :) I’ll be excited to hear what everyone’s favorite perks are!
thank youuu i was following a mistria spreadsheet that had a ranching tab and it was really confusing but this helped me break it down and now im obsessed with trying to get a pink cow
:D Thank you so much! Excited for when you get to play it too & get to experience the magic 💖 it's such a good game and easily one of my favorite farm sims so far!
Glad this could help! There's more that goes into it that I learned after uploading this video (like if you breed a tier 1 x tier 2, it's a 50/50% chance for either color, but two of the same tier is always guaranteed). Then once you're at the gold tier and aiming for a seasonal variant, it gets a bit more time consuming because the probability rate drops further.
:D Thanks so much for saying that, I appreciate your support! I definitely plan on making more FoM content. My head is brimming with ideas, I just need more time in a day to do all the things :') I'm finishing my 3rd video as we speak!
Well you did it again ❤ Thank you for the tips and tricks, I learned so many new things that I had no idea I could actually do 😮 Keep up the great videos, excited to see what is next 🎉 Oh and you made me laugh by running around with your chicken on your head 😂
Love this video, love this game! You shared some good tips for me, I'm in Fall year 1 and only just got started with the animal breeding because of the story quest to upgrade the barn. I maxxed out blacksmithing easily but struggling to get woodworking skills up. I wish we had a recipe book in the menu because going all the way to the kitchen to check in on recipes is sometimes a big time waster and I can't justify buying the expensive kitchen for my house just yet. I also wish that armor/weapons/tools that you craft that end up having additional skills/perks would sell for slightly more than regular ones. Looking forward to the next video! EDIT: proud to be your 300th subscriber! (-:
AHHHHH you're my 300th subscriber :D Thank you so much!! I 100% agree with you-- all these features would be so nice to see in the full release of the game. If there's feedback you want to pass along to the devs, Fields of Mistria's site has a form to send bugs and feedback to. While it's not a guaranteed they'll implement it, the power of many voices is sometimes enough to create positive changes :) I know for sure I want to cover a video on this and would love to gather feedback from the community here. I'm def more of a strategic player and feel like there's a lot of rationale and demonstrated value that can help support this feedback. Like the infused armor? If we were really in a magical land and shipped this out to the capital... they'd be like DAMN.. This armor is great. Let's give this person more money. (A detail that feeds and supports into the economy of Mistria). For the recipe book, it could be as something as simple as completing a quest for Reina, and then that unlocks a tab in the menu. Enough rambling from me-- this actually inspired me to script the next video. Thanks again!!
@@jinxedmoth I love the idea of having the recipe book as an unlockable! Yes, I actually encountered a few bugs/crashes in the game and I submitted them to their feedback form, lo and behold they fixed it in the first patch. Looking forward to the next video!
:D Thank you! it makes me so happy to hear that my voice can have this effect on people. 💖 One of my favorite things is honestly stumbling across a creator with a really good voice with like a 2-4 hour long video and following along until my brain finally decides to turn itself off to get some sleep. Thanks again for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed this video!
What’s extra great (to me) about the in game chicken eating its egg happily as a treat that you hand feed them, is that my IRL chickens also love to eat eggs from my hands (but not out directly out of their laying boxes). I like a touch where games mirror life in silly ways! (Eggs may be one of my flocks favorite treat)
You have chickens IRL!? That's honestly the dream 🤩 I love that this game has a bunch of cute moments that mirror real life. The capybaras are also an adorable addition, and I love the sound they make when you hand feed them! 💖
if you grow the quickest growing crop near where your animals live they can eat the fully grown produce and that's when you receive the beads when they grasse
My family had a chicken for 20 years. She would sometimes break open and eat her own unfertilized eggs. She also stole some chicken off the BBQ once and ate it, so take from that what you will.
She stole chicken off the barbeque and ate it!? She was around for 20 years (if I read that correctly!?) 😱 That chicken sounds like an absolute legend.🐔
Hello!! Thank you for this! Never knew we could use the jump attack to clear clustered fields on our farm! Saves a lot of time!. The skeleton chicken is adorable!!!❤i have a question tho are the other town levels unlocked? Been playing and has reached level 50, but i cant view any increase in town rank & ive got a ghost town on fridays. Not sure if its a bug or we cant go beyond level 50 yet. Looking forward to more videos! Im gonna try to breed a skeleton chicken now!❤
First of all- glad this helps! It’s also so much fun to clear out grass this way ❤️ Second- :’) so sad to hear everything has been a ghost town once reaching town rank 50. I know for sure that the devs have a roadmap for future content and we should expect more updates like 6 heart events, more unlocked craftables, etc. in Q4. I hope this is the case for the town rank too. Since it’s early access, the devs are open to feedback and also pointing out bugs etc. My biggest hope is that they don’t EVER stop progressing the social aspect as it’s one of the strongest selling points of the game that a lot of the community has been talking about. In short- it’s likely capped-but if we get enough voices we can hopefully make enough of an impact in future updates to improve the game further. 💖
multiple hasty enchants also kinda stack... weirdly im running with 3 hasty enchants and my character is hard to control so i take them off whenever im not rushing somewhere
According to the game's steam page, we should be able to keep the files we're playing! I would recommend saving a physical backup copy of the game /your save files before any major update or the full release, just to be safe if there's any bugs, glitches, etc. within the first few hours.
I too EGGcidentally fed my chicken an egg and then realized - hmm...this will work in a pinch when I'm out of grass or hay! Great tips, thank you! 🥰 Oh, and I love the music in this video; do you know the title?
The problem i found is that if i put on the repeated tool function, it means i cant use the upgraded versions of watering cans, shovels, or hoes which covers more tiles of land when you hold down 😭
Using a PS4 controller myself, I found a way around by putting the charged one on triangle and repeated on square. You will lose the button for rotate objects, but I simply press r on the keyboard to go around that.
I accidentally fed my cow their own milk so many times just speeding through it. Before I realized, I was like "Why the heck do I still have an extra hay in my inventory???" Still sometimes forget to just shuffle through the hotkey bar 😅
Inventory management is a WHOLE other story too lol. Because 2 seasons in I really thought I was saving up all the eggs over that time and was shocked there wasn't more... until I caught myself in the act and my chicken eating from my hands like: :') ❤ *gives shiny beads*
Those purple orbs are essence! When you collect a little purple orb it'll get added to a pool that you'll see in the top right corner of your screen that you can use to spend at the dragon statue on your farm. If you interact with the statue, you'll pull up a list of 7/9 skill branches (the one for mining and combat can be found in the mines). Ranching can be found at the dragon statue on your farm, and if you're not getting shiny beads, you might have to unlock that skill perk :) I have two more videos about the skill tree if you'd like a more detailed or visual guide to follow: Skill tree overview + farming: th-cam.com/video/Ur4m1XcH0ag/w-d-xo.html Ranching skill perks: th-cam.com/video/t88huMpTPuo/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps 💖
It used to :( I had to re-record this video after the patch on the 15th because there was the ability to stack like 4 pieces of armor and put you at 16% speed lol. Not sure why they patched this, people were having fun 😕
What I end up doing for cooking is selling all the plain food, keeping the stam bonus and giving away the liked gifts haha I have a bad habit of hoarding everything...
@@jinxedmoth Yesss, I wish I could make a little extra building for storage lol. At the moment I just have a little section of my yard and half my house full of random furniture and chests LOL I try to keep like two of everything incase someone requests it...
Do you also store chests within the chests? :') in recording gameplay I just want to put like a full disclaimer "I am NOT a decorator. My chests are currently lined up by the river and it's a miracle they're slightly organized LOL. A shed would be a miracle sent by NPC Studio!
To make money I just planted 1089 regrowable seeds on a 33*33 patch of land 😭U can eart 125K every 3 days that way (only con is that it could be hectic, but still money, hell yeah!!)
I feel the exact same! Harvest Moon will always have a special place in my heart... I do appreciate ConcernedApe for being a solo dev and breathing life back into the genre and developing everything from the art to the music. Now I feel like Fields of Mistria is picking up this torch. I really admire NPC Studio's vision, dedication, and passion they put into this game. That's how you can really tell it's "not another farming sim" ... the pastels and portrait art is gorgeous! 💖 Thanks again for watching! ✨
You’ve been blessed- I am DYING for a lavender and skeleton chicken 😭 right now gold chickens are running my coop and the tier 6 probability rate feels like the hunt for a shiny lol
I'm always accidentally feeding eggs and milk to my animals. 😅 I need a controller button to put auto hit items with tools... Also, the mill literally takes all day.😢
My guess is the mill & time it takes will just be temporary, but my hope is that we can have an artisan skill or something along those lines to level up! Also how cute would it be to be able to craft mills to decorate our farms in game!? If you're playing on steam deck or another controller, I'll check on my partner's console and see if there's a way around this💖
My solution, am using a PS4 controller, to this was: Put repeated on square, charged on triangule. The only thing you will lose is you won't be able to rotate objects on your controller, but I simply push R when it comes to that.
it only goes up from the first year! Also if its early in the season in your second year (earlier the better, ideally before the 14th), put all your money on re-harvestables like strawberries and cabbages. It'll feel devastating at first... but so, so worth it for the long haul.
I've literally been cooking for my animals because hay is too hard to sustain, you're telling me I could've just been feeding them forage items? UEahhh
..... :) Your animals thank you kindly for the gourmet meals or any quality food you may have given them lol. I had the same reaction too when I fed a chicken a berry that was basically worthless. Winter is one of the best for running around the map and foraging for berries!
I just love this game, I think the biggest issue Ive honestly have is needing wood all the time, understandable but Ive cleared the entire;s maps wood and still don't have enough, I also have maxed stat points
ymmv depending on your playstyle, vibe, etc. There are some recipes that you can receive from the statue that might be exclusive for it, like deviled eggs. Sometimes, it's just luck of the draw (at 100 beads, one time I got a golden cheesecake worth 2,700t, which if you feed animals berries that are worth 1t, and get 1 bead per animal, that's only 100t of feed you spent on animals to make 2,600t profit)
I nearly uh.. failed high school (because farm sims), got a jeopardy of dismissal in college (because farm sims among various other things), and had to make up for lost time (learning everything I can because some day I want to make a farm sim)~ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) thanks for watching! ✨
Hello! I loved the video! I just wanted to advise that when you are speaking every time you say a word that has an "S" it gets deafening on the headset, I don't know how to explain it. It sounds too much like "sssss" and it hurts a little bit the ears. Just wanted to let you know that 🤍
little tip: ship each crop at least ONCE, you will get a recipe with it the next day from a character in the mail!
This is such a great tip-- thanks for sharing! I'll add this into a future video :)

Yeah that chicken needs oyster shells or something in it's diet.
I realized my chicken ate its egg and I was in disbelief …
I KNOW. I was like “where are all my eggs going?” .__. Apparently egg shells have nutrients that are beneficial for chickens. 🐓
Didn't know they could do that, that's quite realistic...
Yeah you can feed real life chickens back their egg shells and it’s a good source of calcium for them!! But after you make yourself breakfast with the egg’s contents

Oof, I'm so obsessed with this game I am already almost at the end of my 2nd year 😂😅
I KNOW. The fact it's only early access blows my mind because this game is already giving so much
Loved the vid! Id love to see a vid about easy liked/loved gifts for everyone :)
Thanks so much-- I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's a great idea as well that I'll add to my list :) While Olric is non-dateable, he's easy: ROCKS! ✨
@@jinxedmoth hahaha an easy man to please, i found out Ryis likes wood too 😭😹
Dozy likes wood too :D This will be a really fun video to work on! 💖
@@jinxedmoth I can’t wait!! :) 🩷
You can get grass seeds at the Mill, and it's pretty easy to make
I'm so excited for seasonal chicken variants now!
Great video!!!
Thanks so much for watching Nadia! 💖🥰
Great Job!
Thank you so much :D
if you grow the quickest growing crop near where your animals live they can eat the fully grown produce and that's when you receive the beads when they grasse
That's good to know, thanks for sharing!
@jinxedmoth RIP Betty.
#ChickenLegend
your chicken drawings are adorable
Thank you so much 💖🐔
It’s also so much fun to clear out grass this way ❤️
Second- :’) so sad to hear everything has been a ghost town once reaching town rank 50.
@@jinxedmoth I am pretty sure they've said more town ranks are coming, too.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching! 💖
im not sure if thats a trick but one of the 2 secrest singels is the dargon but you can only date her when the mines are fully in the game
multiple hasty enchants also kinda stack... weirdly
im running with 3 hasty enchants and my character is hard to control so i take them off whenever im not rushing somewhere
So what happens when they release the full version? Will you have to start a new game?
According to the game's steam page, we should be able to keep the files we're playing! I would recommend saving a physical backup copy of the game /your save files before any major update or the full release, just to be safe if there's any bugs, glitches, etc. within the first few hours.
I too EGGcidentally fed my chicken an egg and then realized - hmm...this will work in a pinch when I'm out of grass or hay! Great tips, thank you! 🥰
Oh, and I love the music in this video; do you know the title?
HA I love puns. Glad these tips helped & thanks for watching! The title is Path of the Wind, it's on some royalty free site that I downloaded :)
The problem i found is that if i put on the repeated tool function, it means i cant use the upgraded versions of watering cans, shovels, or hoes which covers more tiles of land when you hold down 😭
Trying this with the shovel was absolutely devastating :')
Using a PS4 controller myself, I found a way around by putting the charged one on triangle and repeated on square. You will lose the button for rotate objects, but I simply press r on the keyboard to go around that.
I personally set the repeat use button on left click and charge tool on right click, if you're using a mouse and keyboard, it mostly works for me!
The chicken ate the WHAT ☠️
If we were playing Harvest Moon & that egg was fertilized... technically it's offspring 💀
i totally fed baby cows milk cause that is what they eat normally. but when i gave a chicken an egg by accident i was confused...
lol I know!! So that's what happened to all of our eggs.... 🤔 Thanks so much for watching! 🌻
I don't get animal beads I get purple dots are they the same thing?
Those purple orbs are essence! When you collect a little purple orb it'll get added to a pool that you'll see in the top right corner of your screen that you can use to spend at the dragon statue on your farm. If you interact with the statue, you'll pull up a list of 7/9 skill branches (the one for mining and combat can be found in the mines).
Ranching can be found at the dragon statue on your farm, and if you're not getting shiny beads, you might have to unlock that skill perk :)
I have two more videos about the skill tree if you'd like a more detailed or visual guide to follow:
Skill tree overview + farming: th-cam.com/video/Ur4m1XcH0ag/w-d-xo.html
Ranching skill perks: th-cam.com/video/t88huMpTPuo/w-d-xo.html
Hope this helps 💖
but the question is: Does the hasty equip buff stack?
It used to :( I had to re-record this video after the patch on the 15th because there was the ability to stack like 4 pieces of armor and put you at 16% speed lol. Not sure why they patched this, people were having fun 😕
What I end up doing for cooking is selling all the plain food, keeping the stam bonus and giving away the liked gifts haha
I have a bad habit of hoarding everything...
Same! & I feel that :') I'm also a dragon. I feel like 25% of this game is trying to sort through and clear out chests lol
Is there really no sprinklers? 😅 might be a deal breaker for me..
:') There's really no sprinklers as of early access, but with early access games there's always opportunity to include features in later developments!
I got a tier 3 chicken from breeding a tier 2 and a tier 1 though
When you cook you can look at how much the recipe and its ingredients sell for
To make money I just planted 1089 regrowable seeds on a 33*33 patch of land 😭U can eart 125K every 3 days that way (only con is that it could be hectic, but still money, hell yeah!!)
Ayyy this is the chaotic neutral kinda gameplay live for & I love to hear about 🤑
Other games: color theory
FoM: classism
All in jest
I love this game so much more than stardew (still prefer harvest moon / sos the most ) because of its Japanese and pastel aesthetic
Thanks again for watching! ✨
I was the same with cooking, than actually started and selling them and saw how much more money I was getting??
I bred two tier 1 chickens and got a tier 3 lavender one, I have no clue how!
You’ve been blessed- I am DYING for a lavender and skeleton chicken 😭 right now gold chickens are running my coop and the tier 6 probability rate feels like the hunt for a shiny lol
@@jinxedmoth oh nauuuuur!! ahhh sending you lots of hope and good RNG!!! 💝
I'm always accidentally feeding eggs and milk to my animals. 😅
I need a controller button to put auto hit items with tools...
The only thing you will lose is you won't be able to rotate objects on your controller, but I simply push R when it comes to that.
i have yet to pass out at march's bed. Saving it for marriage though
I hate how fast the days go its so stressful
My ass was broke asf the entire first year…
it only goes up from the first year!
UEahhh
..... :)
Your animals thank you kindly for the gourmet meals or any quality food you may have given them lol. I had the same reaction too when I fed a chicken a berry that was basically worthless. Winter is one of the best for running around the map and foraging for berries!
I accidentally gave my chicken its own egg and i was horrified 😂
I just love this game, I think the biggest issue Ive honestly have is needing wood all the time, understandable but Ive cleared the entire;s maps wood and still don't have enough, I also have maxed stat points
But what are the shiny beads for? I don't get it. This chicken statue just gave me animal products. It doesn't seem worth it?
ymmv depending on your playstyle, vibe, etc.
87 boiled eggs 😂
instantly leveled me to 30 cooking lol. chicken army coming in cluckth 🐔
How did you get to be so smart?
I nearly uh.. failed high school (because farm sims), got a jeopardy of dismissal in college (because farm sims among various other things), and had to make up for lost time (learning everything I can because some day I want to make a farm sim)~ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
thanks for watching! ✨
Hello! I loved the video! I just wanted to advise that when you are speaking every time you say a word that has an "S" it gets deafening on the headset, I don't know how to explain it. It sounds too much like "sssss" and it hurts a little bit the ears. Just wanted to let you know that 🤍
Thank you !
Thanks so much for watching! :)
