I used to race motocross and I had a partial sponsorship from bell. I wore them for about 10 years and I can attest to their quality. I had a “severe” tbi while racing and the neurologists said it’s a miracle that I was alive. (Not very reassuring) I attribute a lot of that to my gen 1 moto 9 flex. I quit riding about 6 years ago and just got into dual sports. I bought this for full price because my helmet did its job. Bell had my money forever
@@gsabella4 its a good helmet for the money. I live in a very hot and humid area, the ventilation is just enough to get by with but I’d like a bit more. The helmet is very comfortable when it’s a bit cooler. It feels high quality and it has the mips system which was a major selling point for me. I will say it feels kind of heavy when you wear it, but after a while I got used to it. I’m sure there are better helmets out there but bell has my loyalty.
There is a cold weather kit for the helmet from Bell. A liner for the head and face area to mostly block off airflow from those vents. I used it throughout the winter in near freezing temps and was perfectly comfortable. Thanks!
I purchased the Bell MX-9 to replace an old Bell moto4 for riding my TW200 . I really love how this helmet give me more field of view and all around comfort. keep up the good work on your videos and your products for my 1989 TW200 .
My MX-9 is a couple of years old. The only criticism is the visor. I had to manufacture a stiffener as it would vibrate and deflect at cruising speeds 100 to 110 kph. This added a lot of noise to an already air noisy helmet. Hearing protection is crucial with this helmet.
strap a velcro strap around the helmet nose area and close the shield. It naturally provides a crack for you without interfering with your line of sight.
Yo Chase! we just bought our boy the Bell MX-9S flex Tomac edition, it was like $700 with shipping, he is wearing it now down at Jimmy Wieners Moto Training compound, and he said he loves it! he had the Bell Moto9 Showtime Mcgrath edition, and the MIPS very well may have saved him in a bad crash he had, so we replaced it with one of the best they offer, i would rather him be better protected and Bell is such a quality helmet...Team Green ALWAYS!
I got the one in the thumbnail for £150 i was so tempted to get a mt Street fighter but heard the sizing is very small and its ofline so couldnt even try it on
You won't have worry about water getting inside the face shield when it's down but there are vents that can't be closed so you may still get some water going in the helmet if you're riding in a downpour.
I don't understand the instructions from Bell for securing the helmet, I just thread the strap through both the D rings and back around through the first d ring, like you do with a lifejacket on a boat. It's still secure, but not as per the instructions.
Is the shell the exact same as the normal MX-9? I can't find an MX-9 anywhere - can I just buy this, take off the shield, and voila - I have an MX-9? @rmatvmc

Interesting take. I'm getting back into riding after a few years "off". I'm considering this helmet for my new ADV era lol

I have used previous model, and now I have new version, both are decent helmets, however previous one had better build quality. Both are rain leaking!

You can open and close the chin vents. Just got one.

Hi thx for the review.....i just ordered mine on your website. Do goggles fit inside this helmet? thxx
With this helmet, it's a little tough to get goggles to work with the visor installed.
@@rmatvmc that's bull
@@rmatvmcHow would googles fit with the visor removed?
No flip down tinted visor?
No, not on this helmet.
It’s loud AF
