I really can’t understand why dice did not add more portal maps. It can’t be that much work? I’d take 2 or 3 portal maps over one boring new map any day of the week.. (several new maps per season would be the best ofc, but obv that didn’t happen)
Agree! My buddy got 2042 for 30$ before the sandbaggening started and he LOVED Portal maps ( except WW1 )

Yeah after seeing a peak into how frostbite map design works. It doesn't look that advanced. Much less for actual Developers. I feel like DICE didn't develop frostbite to import previous versions of frostbite. Like you can in Unreal engine.
Same here! The portal maps should have literally just been added to the main mode. I hate how portal is locked behind.....portal
only reason I bought the game, and got the rug pulled under us. They did not support it to its full potential. really just wanted them to add more maps and gadgets to flesh out each era. like add wake isalnd, port valdez etc... additionaly they never added the aug and sks like advertised.
I thought they would have added metro for sure, but no. I would have played the absolute ef out of this game if they added seine crossing, damavand peak, grand bazaar, argonne forest, ballroom blitz, amiens... even with the garbage game and gunplay... they dropped the ball so hard I might never come back.

You're right and I didn't even think about it. Not only did they make no effort in making new content but they also didn't even bother porting the bf portal guns onto bf2042. That's crazy. Lazyism at an all-time high with DICE & EA.

How can you keep hitting enemies with the secondary? BFP. If I shoot rapidly then the second and rest of the bullets won't hit/register and goes to Narnia.
I'd like Enders to do a full review on how broken the blue dumpsters are in battlefield, its hillarious as a lot are positioned with good views of flags and points and you can get really high kill counts by just sitting in a dumpster and head peeking.
I believe they are the most broken thing in the games as no one checks the bins! Haha

Thx Enders, Hi, a tip that might be useful to you. You can create profiles for the weapons (to be chosen according to the distance of the target) by binding with the same key in the Plus menu (eg: 2) Toggle scopes, barrel and underbarrel.
Changing the charger will be done with another key (E for me), to avoid the reloading animation when switching between profiles.

Man that is disappointing they couldn't just add everything from portal into the base game (that would include the server browser lol), but I will say I had a lot of fun playing this with my brother and friends. We all agree the game isn't good but fun was had none the less. I don't have hopes for the next BF game but deep down my love for this series is praying they can bring us back to the bf3 days of quality but lets be real...nobody makes good shooters anymore and I cannot figure out why. Just make a freaking good game.

My friends just got me to download this game off gamepass and I like it but it is a shame the development seems to be in a poor state bc I like battlefield games, was kinda late to bf4 but hardline was so much fun but a lot of hours into that one, hope the next battlefield game is good, honestly just tired of the live service bs the industry keeps forcing on us, we just want finished functional and fun games to play with friends
I’m sure portal weapons will be dropped in AOW. New content is done. But the game is not 100% done. I’m sure. Mckay was the first of other specialist changes. Some dev said on twitter that something is still ongoing with portal.

@EndersFPS that's annoyingly confusing because when I looked at the wrapped suppressor in the game it adds less Stat debuffs to the gun than the other suppressor but yet the other suppressor is supposed to be better. 😒 thank you though

How to use what? You just take specialist, jet or heli and focus on the enemy flag. That's it.
@provalivay some newcomers have no clue on how to fly helis, jets, call in or drive tanks, take advantage of the Plus system etc, you'll be surprised how clueless some ppl are

Enders' point to DICE not adding more weapons is the dagger to the heart when we all BF players say the new game sucks from scratch and mock DICE for the "we've learned lessons" bs they published recently.
"It's a live service" is not a valid point just because they can't keep up to BF 2042.
BF 2042 final score: 4.5/10
This thing is a multi-kill machine. No complaints tbh. They never added a mortar which means 2042 will forever be wasted potential.
The biggest disappointment with this game is lack of support for portal. I did not care one bit for 2042, its story, era and gameplay (except penguins are cool). I only bought the game for portal. I was expecting 2 or at the very least one new map of portal every season. ones that are fan favorites. like Wake Isalnd, Port Valdez, metro etc... I thought that they would actually add all the weopons and gadgets to the game. they made it seem like thats what was going to happen. but no they just released boring and badly designed lvls.
I know @Enders has an opinion that portal allowed for too much customization. And to that I honestly agree. all I wanted was to be able to play different battlefields on remastered maps from other eras. Like BC2 on wake island. But it would be cool to make custom loadouts to select from other eras, Like customize the ww2 era to have classes that operate like bc2 or bf3. With a thomson having a bazooka as equipment, kinda like 1943.
on that note, bf 1943 was promised for PC and dice never did it, and we were advertised the aug and sks for portal and still never got it. boy we love false advertising dice.

BF2042 in its entirety feels as though it offers significantly less than BFV in my humble opinion. The War in the Pacific expansion was a breath of fresh air. BF2042 never really got anything like that.

No, because the damage multiplier is lower than the one the Type4 has. So you increase the BTK in the second range

your criticisms of DICE or extremely valid an true. BF 2042 is EA's cash cow for bad developers. It is sameful this game is so fun because the brains at the top do not care about anyone's experience
Blizzard redesigned many things in Diablo 4 Season 4, it’s a completely different game now compared to what players got at launch. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re into RPG’s, it’s a pretty good game now.
