    Welcome to 255 Stuyvesant Ave - A Limestone like No Other!
    A rare Pre-War 19th Century Townhome Impeccably Restored for Modern Living Historic turn-of-the-century glamor beckons in this exquisite two-family luxury limestone townhome originally built among a row of charming houses in 1893 by prolific builder, E. H. Bishop.
    Every inch of this three-story, 4,635 sqft house has been painstakingly restored and renovated while keeping most old-world details intact or recreated to match the original design. Highlights include beautiful original inlay wood floors, pocket doors, pier mirrors, regal ceiling molding, dark mahogany woodwork and wainscoting, stained glass accents, ceiling medallions, and a trio of stunning wood-burning fireplaces. The home also has brand new electrical and plumbing, double-insulated thermal break windows, brand new ducted zonal HVAC system, dimmer light switches throughout and two hot water heaters with an efficient recirculating system. Situated on one of the most sought-after blocks in Bedford-Stuyvesant, the home’s chic limestone façade with carved octagonal bay windows conceals pristine interiors suited for grand entertaining, intimate lounging, and everything in between. In addition to the beauty of this home the layout was designed for optimal functionality. The owner’s triplex has 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a powder room and 2 sets of washers and dryers (including one in the basement exclusively for the homeowners) The grand west facing PARLOR floor boasts 10’6 ceiling, with an open living and dining room that can be separated with the alluring original pocket doors allowing you to close out the kitchen area when entertaining. The parlor floor includes Visual Comfort chandeliers and sconces perfectly placed throughout the home. The immaculate designer kitchen leads out onto a large private deck and is adorned with a huge eat-in island that stands 7.5 feet by 5.5 with marble countertops. The island features additional storage space and a wine cooler conveniently located close to the deck allowing you to easily grab a refreshing bottle of wine as you entertain guests on your deck and backyard. The kitchen also features a bevy of custom cabinets, a built-in pantry, a pot-filler, and high-end appliances including a 7-burner ILVE gas stove and griddle. This is a true showstopper kitchen at its finest!
    The SECOND floor is dedicated to a lavish primary suite with a king-size bedroom chamber, a home office, and a windowed en-suite bathroom, inspired by Vanessa Hudgens bathroom that was featured in Architectural Digest. The sanctuary creates a calming presence the moment you step in. The bathroom includes a working wood fireplace, double sinks, a touch less toilet with bidet and heated seat functionality, a freestanding 55" stone soaking tub, and a glass-enclosed walk-in rainfall shower with Brizo body jets.
    The THIRD floor contains three additional bedrooms and two large skylights allowing for optimal light. One bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom while the other two share a sizable additional full bathroom. If that’s not enough, you have a fully finished excavated basement with vinyl floor and over 7’0 ft ceilings with beautiful, exposed brick arches. Also in the basement is a beautifully designed speakeasy room, which would be a great way to unwind after a hectic day. The 1-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom GARDEN floor apartment is perfect for hosting guests and long-term relative stays or generating rental income. The unit includes a powder room, washer/dryer and access to a spacious backyard with exceptional privacy.
    It is moments from some great restaurants including Saraginha, Michelin starred L’Antagoniste, Peaches Restaurant, Beso Bar, and many cafes, and shops along Malcolm X Boulevard, Lewis Avenue, and Halsey Street. Nearby subway lines include A express and C Train at Utica Ave. The building is wired for FiOS.

    I lived in the top floor apt of this house from 1987 - 2004. The owners & their son lived in the space presented in the video. It's been beautifully restored.

    I'm always interested when I hear "restored" or "restoration", and get a sinking feeling when I hear "renovate". I'm glad the architectural history wasn't stripped. That primary bathroom? Omigoodness, I LOVE it! I love the moodiness, the, dare I say, sensuality of it. That's a space for grown folks.

    Such a synergy of boldness and sensitivity - culminating in a beautifully sensed and rendered space to withdraw, to share, and importantly, to live in abundance, forward-facing and retrospectively. Bravo to those whose vision has made this a home that stands above all others! Thank you x

    She should let designers speak more, mainly the one on the primary bedroom. Nice interior design restoration but a backyard with no greens? Location explains the price.

    Ok trying to be constructive and not critical. At this price point please invest $100 or so of your own money if need be to cover electrical outlets, junction boxes, unfinished light switches etc. In the first few scenes you see all these wires cascading out of the base boards, the lamps plugged into exposed outlets, the light switch being open as soon as you walk into the kitchen. The big exposed wire under the cabinet in the kitchen. The whole tour all I can see in almost every space is exposed wiring. Rightfully or not it makes me question the craftsmanship of the work and what other corners were cut on the project. Just a strangers food for thought.

    • @MTMF.london
      @MTMF.london ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's good constructive criticism. I thought I was the only one that saw the electric switch/thermostat(?) falling off the wall, left unfinished. I think they were in a hurry to put it on the market and didn't wait until everything was done properly.

    Beautiful, beautiful Brooklyn home! The only thing I would change is the bathroom colors (I know this is probably an unpopular opinion 😒) but I found the colors too dark/moody and almost depressing in the bathroom. I would prefer something lighter, brighter and “cleaner” looking…

    And in New York all bathroom floors need heat and homes should be loaded with sound and technology

    • @MTMF.london
      @MTMF.london ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sound and technology date too easily, especially if built in. Better to have stand alone sound/tech that can be updated and replaced as newer, more advanced ones come on the market.

  • @grigorisgirl

    As someone from UK I’ll never get used to the phrase “yard” when talking about a garden. Here a yard is a concrete area where you leave your bikes and tools etc. What’s wrong with the word garden?

    • @joralemonvirgincreche
      @joralemonvirgincreche ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Most American "yards" are lawns, meaning, almost entirely grass. A garden in the U.S. is something where you've planted flowers and/or small trees, and you tend it, weed it, mulch it, maybe you grow vegetables too. The "yard" in this house wasn't a garden or a lawn, it was completely covered in pebbles.

    The entire home needs a different interior designer except for the kitchen and bathroom. The stove is great but need a luxurious appliance package. The deck need a lifted outdoor kitchen, with a seating area. A water feature and an actual fire pit in the couch seating area. I’d add some greenery and bring, getting rid of the gravel. The wood burning fireplaces need a wood storage feature . And you cannot be in New York without luxurious closet space, I’d do some slight redesign to the closet space.

      Expanding the decal the full length of the backyard would be great adding a pool and sports feature.

    • @traceylawton631
      @traceylawton631 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JustinAdamsMD and the placement of the fridge is just wrong. It should be on the same side as the sink ... sink, stove and fridge should form a small triangle for ease of use.

    • @MTMF.london
      @MTMF.london ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SarahGoss-k1n The backyard is not that big - certainly not for a pool or sports feature. Better to have it landscaped and put some privacy hedges around the walls to cover those ugly fences. They made the property look cheap, low-rent.

      You won't get the whole house for the price ($3.6 million) if not in Bed-Stuy, which is now a fairly decent neighbourhood and you have to get in while it's still just "up-and-coming" and not fully gentrified.
