I still remember when I saw the 93rd death in the minute 3:45 And it gave me chills, just thinking that maybe many pilots saw that... How brave they were.
An exchange student that came to my school, one of his relatives flew for the germans. To fly through an American formation was near suicide. Brave men on both sides RIP.
Those bomber gunners were REALLY good, one bomber gunner (cant remember name) is unofficially credited with same or more kills than highest official score for a fighter pilot.
What about the airman who got shovelled to death on the wooden horse cart.! That was also was taken from horrific accounts of a real incident that actually happened to a B24 Liberator crew.
There’s a few ww2 movies that comes to mind for suggestions you could do. The Thin Red Line, Fury, Midway, red tails and the flowers of war (though that one isn’t heavy action it’s a heavy movie)
Lt. Crosby prepares for D-Day, the POWs wonder how the Allied landing will affect their fate and the Tuskegee pilots attack targets in Southern France.
Worth considering that on long distance raids the B17 would carry a 4000lb or 6000lb bomb load, travelling slowly, with a crew of 10. Until the advent of long range fighter escorts, the attrition rate was appalling for very very low damage inflicted. When the Lightnings and P51s came online, the bombers essentially acted as bait to lure the Luftwaffe into attritional dog fights. The 2 man unarmed Mosquito could carry a 4000lb bomb load and flew so fast it was very difficult for the Nazis to intercept, while fighter variants would have been available for long range escort for such strike packages. Instead of sacrifing a huge number of lives for minimal effect, the US could have adapted their doctrine in the face of the overwhelming amounts of available data, and used the Mosquito en masse and achieved the same or greater result for a far far smaller loss of life.
2:02 this german (german P-47 maybe?) plane didnt use a AAM (air -air missle), he used a rocket, but just got a lucky shot or he knew ehat he was doing

You hit the plane's oxygen tanks with shrapnel, the plane explodes or leaves the crew without breathing at higher altitude, you knock out the electronics, half the systems on board the plane don't work. B-17's often split their wings in half from a single fuel tank explosion. When you look at German fighter guncam footage of B-17's getting hit, externally it doesn't seem like much, though internally, a lot of sh*t is done. Once a FlaK shell hits the B-17 directly, the bomber has lost control in a violent spin or the stabilizer is missing, let alone a fuel tank fire causing the whole aircraft to explode following the fuel cutting off.
Did they train the gunners with the speed of the B17 doing 240mph? And the fighter moving at 400 mph? After the bullet leaves the 50 cal it is rapidly slowing down from the 240mph of the B17 so missing would be easy without compensating for the speed of the B17. Any answer?
@@boomboomboombob Shooting Skeet isn't the same as shooting an aircraft from a moving plane. You have a whole nother axis to deal with. So again did they teach that to the gunners?

Rosie’s next mission signals a significant shift in the 100th’s bombing strategy, Lt. Crosby receives a promotion but it comes with a high price.
Wow!
3:47 Well, that's a hell of a way to go but at least he didn't turn into mince meat through those propellers.

Really brave
Shows that the war in the air was just as brutal as on the ground
Indeed. The 8th AAF suffered more losses than the U.S.M.C did in the entire war. And the 8th is only 1 of 20 operational AAFs in WWII
1:12 looked like the plane next to them had a "friendly fire" incident, firing at an allied plane
Several scenes seem to.
Happens quite a bit
These formations aren't staggered like they would actually be
The POWs are marched across Germany and Rosie makes a gruesome discovery as the war comes to its conclusion.
Let's keep it goin'.
You got it.
Well then get busy.
What about the airman who got shovelled to death on the wooden horse cart.! That was also was taken from horrific accounts of a real incident that actually happened to a B24 Liberator crew.
Oh my god bro
Welcome back 🙏
We've missed you.
Thanks Commander
@CarnageCounts Good.
Great video
My boy Charger70s explaining the lore of each war movie and what is happening

You should make another carnage count video from the Netflix WWII animation mini series called “The Liberator” (2020).
Lt. Crosby prepares for D-Day, the POWs wonder how the Allied landing will affect their fate and the Tuskegee pilots attack targets in Southern France.

1:43, that should be 33. Bf110s had two crewmen.
Most likely didn't see them
3:11 co pilot didn’t die from the gunfire, he died in the crash
Led by Majors Cleven and Egan, the 100th Bomb Group arrives in England and joins the 8th Air Force’s campaign against Nazi Germany.

Lt. Rosenthal joins the 100th just as one of its crews reaches a milestone, the U-boat pens at Bremen become a target for the second time.
How many B-17s were loss to blue on blue? They flew in tight formations and a M2 has a long range?
Next, Miracle at St. Anna (2008) Carnage Count.
The fighter that exploded at 1:43 was a two seat ME110, so you missed an extra kill.
So it’s 221 kills
They count 10 deaths when Cruikshank went down in lead when they clearly say I see parachutes!!! 😂🤡
Please do more war films & shows.
Great job! Could you please do Ice Storm (2024) Carnage Counts?
I wonder how many B17s were hit with “friendly fire”?
Air war over Nazi Germany had the worst casualties in WW2 on both sides!😥😮
Not wrong though, it was the deadliest war in recorded history
nah bro the mario coin sounds for the deaths were crazyyyy

FW-190.
It seems the B-17 is a much more efficient fighterplane than the p-51,p-47 or the spitfire 😂😂😂
it's.. it's a bomber not a fighter
@boomboomboombob THATS my point
Wildly inappropriate moment for the 200 kill music to play, but still, good vid.
Agreed, I meant to mute the track like a did with a similar scene in Band of Brothers but forgot likely due to habit
It doesn't take multiple shells or cannon rounds to bring down a bomber.
It does sometimes

Yeah Bring the Rest of Videos.
Damn, this is exactly what I wanted out of Red Tails, looks like a hell of a mini-series!
Oh no, watching this had me excited to watch Red Tails but now I'm concerned!
What name of enemy fighter against Flying Fortress (Boeing B-17 Heavy Bomber) during WW2 in Apple TV+ Series called "Masters of the Air"?
The Luftwaffe fighters shown are the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Focke-Wulf Fw 190.
@@kingofaesthetics9407Reminds me of the *Red Tails* (2012 Lucasfilm Movie), where BF-109 vs B-17 during "WW2" on Opening Scene.

Would recommend an alternative sound on the carnage count.. almost sounds like it’s good thing these boys are going down..at least on this ep.
It's a ding to let you know someone died, not make it seem like a good thing
Neat.
Bf 109s manoeuvring like TIE fighters….and far too many Luftwaffe planes in the air at one time..
Can you do Thanksgiving
Little bro was not saved 2:49
8:55 I wonder what is the next type of movie is coming up with the cliffhanger?

The 100th bombs German U-boat pens in Norway with the help of Lt. Crosby’s navigating, a damaged B-17 struggles to get back to Britain.
Are you not counting all the people on the ground hit by the bombs too?
We would just be making up numbers at that point

It won't be this WWII theme but I can try to get to it next time we visit it. Seems to be at least once a year, sometimes more
Ok
Movie?
It's a series, Masters of the Air (2024)
I wonder if we will see more classic ww2 movies coming up?☺️
Thanksgiving is putting a stop to it for now but we'll circle back to it before too long!
@ hope you have a great thanksgiving!
You too! We have a few holiday specific movies, then almost a week of bugs and skin crawling type creatures, I'm certain you've seen a few of those!

The Mustang still had a way better engine and was more reliable. That's why it was the best
And it also had way better range and visibility, carried more ammo, and had really good maneuvering.
