This film is a masterpiece. I saw it in the cinema when it was first released, and its soundtrack was the first music I ever downloaded on iTunes. Even now, I can't stop coming back to it, watching it either in full or in parts.

I stumbled onto "Le Roi Danse" a couple of years ago through numerous short clips on YT. I've tried to find the complete film on YT, preferably with subtitles in English (French II very nearly kept me from graduating from high school! The D minus-minus was surely a gift from the teacher!).
Very creative work. But it is unfortunate that lully's compositions were drowned out in the context of the film by the murmurs of the viewers. We will never find an independent musical with such a grand production, gorgeous costumes, heavenly music, and a wonderful cast. I hope the filmmakers keep a separate version of the full music and dance scores, without any outside noise, and air it one day.
11:33 two very different ways of playing a scene. In the first 11:40 the King is distant, and arrogant, but in the official he is a lot more sensual 11:48 it seems to imply something else with his finger… even his voice is different, it’s more seductive…
