    Deluxe Retaining Soil is ideal for flowers for beehouses. Alternatively you can also water any flower boxed in by beehouses with an upgraded watering can and you only need to water them during the growth phase anyway. So using a spot for a sprinkler to keep watering the flower is a bit of a waste.

    • @Kitadollx
      @Kitadollx  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Good point. If you go the flower honey route with deluxe retaining soil, you'll probably net an extra 5% output with these configurations. I think the overall conclusion will be about the same though. Thanks for watching!

    Clearly I need to set up more mushroom logs. Very interesting to see the breakdown.

    The real answer is Fairy Rose Honey on Ginger Island where you can get it year round. I make about 40k a day with virtually zero work, and if I was willing to skip having crops on the island I could more than triple that amount.
    Right now I'm trying to build a comparable mushroom log farm, but it's rough gathering the mats for the mystic seeds - hardwood seeds in particular just don't drop often enough for truly large scale plantations. Maybe I should have reduced my tree-per-log ratio but I can't change it now without ruining the aesthetics, so I'm basically stuck. Alas.

      @Kitadollx  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah, I really love fairy rose honey on ginger island. I set them up to grow crops in the walkways between them (usually something on a harvest schedule that aligns with the honey). I think there's a little glimpse of it in my sweet gem berry video.
      As far as the seeds go, it can be tough if you weren't planning on mystic seeds from day one (especially farms made before update 1.6). You can trade for seeds at the island trader and the racoon shop too, but they aren't cheap. Good luck with your setup, and thank you for watching!

    I was most concerned with profitability versus effort or time taken. I would have liked to see a chart at the end so I could understand the direct comparisons better. I left with the takeaway that tapped mystic trees and mushroom logs were the most profitable, but not the overall understanding I wanted.
    I started my last farm with the idea that I'd make a huge mushroom log farm at the train station, and even with this being my goal from the beginning, I found I hit some roadblocks. I got around 300 moss on the green rain day, and that quickly gets used up when making mushroom logs. I run out of mahogany seeds quickly when making mystic trees and they can take a long time to grow. Mystic trees are also so late game that my ancient fruit wine business makes it feel irrelevant.

    As the beehouses got upgraded to detect flowers in flowerpots, I tried making a shed with beehouses, didn't work, so now my farm is littered with beehouses, I don't care about flower honey I just want the most money for the least effort.

    • @Muslim1447
      @Muslim1447 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Bee houses don't produce honey indoors, but they do year-round on Ginger Island, and that makes it a good place to make honey farms.

    • @gossamera4665
      @gossamera4665 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Muslim1447 Ya I kinda found that out already. I dunno if the space on Ginger island is worth wasting on bee hives though, I've started growing uh rare(?) fruits, those orange-ish elongated ones that are only sold from the gypsy cart. Those sell for a pretty penny with fertilizers, but they do take like a season to grow.

      @@gossamera4665I think bee houses are so strong on ginger island they may rival even starfruit but if you don't want to waste your farmland there are some few and farm tillable soil spots on island west where you can plant single fairy roses and surround them with 60 bee houses each that don't take any tillable soil away!

  • @celebkiriedhel
    @celebkiriedhel หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think that using bee houses on Ginger island is better than home because you set it up with one fairy rose flower and you're one and done. There are no more changes to do forever more. If you use the automate mod, you can set it up to collect as they go, and get optimal amounts every time you go there.

    • @Kitadollx
      @Kitadollx  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I totally agree with ginger island bee houses. I recently set that up in my artisan-free run and that's still one of my favorite ways to make money. No processing needed. I think I showed that a little in my sweet gem berry video, filling in the walkways between bee houses with sweet gem berries, for an efficient, no-processing-needed (other than seed making) Ginger island farm.
      Thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment!

    When it comes to fishponds, I tend to first get a pond of purple sea cucumber so I can get a head start on iridium tools and they have they have the 3rd best roe price. Then I get one for sturgeons until I can get around 5 or 7 lava eels then I replace the sturgeon. What are your thoughts on crab pots with the new baits, are the professions still not worth it?

    • @Kitadollx
      @Kitadollx  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I haven't really played around with crab pots much since 1.6, but that might be an interesting topic. I'll have to see if the scientists are available to crunch some numbers. Thanks for watching!

    I was going to say, I want to see this tested in a bigger area, maybe 10x10 as the equivalent of four fishponds but I guess only mushroom logs and bee houses really scale with that. Mushroom logs are already winning, and bee houses are generally better on GI as they can produce fairy rose honey year round which makes them significantly stronger than on the farm. I think there is a VERY strong argument for at least one fishpond on meadowlands so I don’t need to walk as far to water my crops 😂

    • @Kitadollx
      @Kitadollx  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! If I wasn't so limited on farm space a bigger area would have been cool to see how things play out. I especially think bee house aesthetics and flower efficiency improve with more space and a little design planning.

      @@Kitadollx The beehouses are especially curious because one flower can cover a lot more than 5x5 but you still need walkways.

    Did you put all mushrooms in dehydrators only? Wouldn't throwing as many in a preserving jar as you can be quite a bit more money, while only dehydrating the extras?

    • @Kitadollx
      @Kitadollx  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah. I usually stick to dehydrators, just because the volume of mushrooms gets so high, especially if you expand beyond a 5x5 area. You're absolutely right though. Preserves jars will widen the mushroom log lead by a bit more if you have the jars to support it.

    Fish Ponds are useful just because you might get some really Valuable stuff from them. it's a Low Chance but still a chance.
    I mean Rainbow Trout might give Prismatic Shards
    one of the Sea Cucumber could give you Iridium.
    I wouldn't put too many on the Farm but some Definitely.
