After interacting more and more with Legoshi, I believe it awakened his attraction to carnivores. In one clip he even thought about how he came to love carnivores, “all thanks to that ¡diot”. Then he got close to Juno. At first it was likely respect he felt for her, then she made the first move which sparked a strong awareness toward her, where he then began to appreciate who she was. And finally all his feelings were sealed with a kiss. Now that he’s awakened his s3xuality, explored himself for who he was, and gained so much life experience… he realizes that he cannot change who he is. When he was young he hated that but now he can’t help but to embrace it.

Louis then stood boldly in front of the other lions thinking he'd be devoured or at least killed by them in retaliation. But that wasn't the case. I don't know if he and Haru were deeply in love, but I thought they were falling for one another and Louis couldn't do much for her, because of his obligations to his dad/his dad's legacy and him wanting to become a Beastar. But I could be reading this wrong.
Seriously though, the way this scene plays out is reminiscent of gay people struggling with coming to terms and with the fact they can't be attracted to who they're "supposed" to be attracted to
