I am trying to make a similar ballast using a 50ml syringe, but when i added vaseline, after some days it dried off, making almost too much friction to move the bat. What do you use to lubricate the rubber bat?

This is the biggest drawback of syringe ballast. The only way to maintain it is by frequently applying lubricant.
