Hola top noch que bueno es verte siempre esperando tus vídeos que tengas una linda mañana bendiciones para ti y tu familia soy Lupe pizarro de Cuenca Ecuador Cuenca Ecuador 😀🇪🇨♥️
Also, Justin, you are a really hard-working young man!!! Wish more young people had your work ethic, it really shows that you guys love what you are doing!!!! Great job, kiddo!!! Be Blessed!!!
Well Brian, you and Justin did a stellar job! I love the transformation, I didn’t want the video to end! The landscaping process was so enjoyable to watch! ☺️ thank you!
It's so nice that you have taken the time out of you busy schedule to do a few jobs around the house! Your son is a great help! Your home is very neat & well taken care of, I love the green garage! You have taken on a massive job, but in the end everyone is happy. What a great job you both have accomplished!!!
Best part of the video IMO is you saying you're not that good at setting a level first row of blocks but then it all comes together perfectly. I've done a couple of similar projects on my property and I used the same method: try your best with the base layer, but then just hit the blocks with a deadblow hammer until they're level, checking like 100 times per block just to make sure. It's really comforting to know that I'm not alone. Gives me a lot of confidence.
Brilliant tip about mixing the topsoil with the grass seeds to put grass right up next to the stone wall! Thanks for showing such wall-building details, especially the level line and how to deal with the slope.
Love what you are doing with your beautiful new home Brian.. as usual you and Justin have done a stellar job and looking forward to seeing the next installment
Thanks for sharing another video. The work you did with the stones, the leveling of the ground and the alignment of each stone is excellent, to do a very good job as you have accustomed us to us. The weather really helped you, it was a beautiful day. Luckily you are not an expert!!!, it has been a first class job!!!. The plants you place will surely be the most successful, you have a gift for your work... Greetings to your son, your family and many blessings to you. I'll give you some advice: ginger tea, with lemon and honey, every day, is an excellent drink for health.
Oh meant to say that the wall turned out super amazing and really changed the look of the house. When you mentioned red maple my first thought was, 'will it clash with the red bricks?' then, 'is that too close to the house for a tree?' Can you grow Esperanza’s where you live? The yellow blooms would be a nice contrast & the size is easily managed. Can’t wait to see the next video of this project.
You definitely spent more time on leveling than I did on the fire pit patio I built two years ago. I was like, 'eh, it's level enough' and now I need to redo it this year.
Yeah that’s definitely a lesson I have learned the hard way! Some of it can’t be helped but I’ve learned the more prep upfront the longer it lasts. Let us know how the fire pit works out
I have been wanting to see your new project! My wife is doing a little better every day! Had staples removed Friday [34]!! Still has 2 drains that will be removed in two weeks! She will still have to have 6 chemotherapy treatments just to be sure all of cancer is gone. We still need all of the prayers to continue for us,I truly believe in the power of prayers! I'm praying for everyone now and I will never stop praying! I hope you have a blessed day and the rest of the week . Thanks again my friend!
Thanks so much for the update my friend. Definitely will continue with the prayers. Good to hear about the steady progress. Make sure to tell her we’re all praying and cheering for her!
WOO-HOO! Been waiting to see your flower garden since you bought the house! Looking forward to part 2! Flowers, trees, bushes gives a balance to land. Masculine/feminine. Fantastic job you guys! Neat, pretty, and gives eye appeal.
I think the finished product is amazing. Well done. My neighbor taught me mix my seed in dirt a long time ago and it woks every time. I can’t wait to how it looks with plants. A Japanese maple would look awesome on the corner!
That is a huge undertaking. Lots of hard work. I did mine 20+ years ago when I was a lot younger. You are lucky to have help, I did mine by myself. In my younger years when I was in shape. But round is a shape too, so that is me today. Good video. Nice to see a variation in your work. Keep up the great work. Tim.
Great video Brian, for only really doing lawn care and knowing a little about landscaping that is awesome! I do about 50 50 lawn care and landscaping and the more you do it the more tricks and easier it becomes! Can’t wait for part 2!
Thanks as always man I really appreciate it. Yeah I’ve learned a lot along the way! Still almost got my nose broken! Lol thankfully no hospital visits on this one
That wall !! Now I understand some of what’s going on in our yard with stone walls and caps that don’t budge…landscape glue who knew!?! I love this drip system that will be buried, right? I’m so frustrated trying to rake with system hoses every which way on top of gardens ugh. Thank you for such good explanations…my brain is now cooking up some outrageous changes in our future 🤣😂🤣
Yes that is definitely the goal! But that’s a consistent problem with drip systems! I agree they can be frustrating in a bed! I’m trying to make sure I have a tree appropriate for the area. I’ll have to look into Esperanza I am not familiar with that one
Looks great! If you're still wondering which tree to plant on the end, I would suggest a 'Slender Hinoki Cypress' tree. It grows to less than 12' and 2' wide. It has a kind of whimsical look. The dark green would stand out from the red brick front unlike a Japanese maple and those can get quite a spreading root system. Just a thought.
For a drrip line irrigation, there are several types of lines depending on how much water you need per minute. I like to install my drip line after planting.
Oh come on Brian you are doing plumbing butt get a longer t-shirt please haha. My grandson is also autistic. Dawns here ☀️👍 Blessings to all the family.
A small dwarf weeping conifers would look nice in the round part, small root system like a Cedrus Deodara Pendula or a Chamaecyparis Lawsoniana Ellwoodii Pom Pom would look cool. a feature tree
I did exactly what you are doing two years ago at my house. I put the landscaping fabric down (double layer) and filled it with ROCK...........and it looks great and works great. Like you said, it blows out easily so no trouble to keep it looking good. Go with the rock!
Mulch always and also plant ground covers because within 3-5 years you won’t need to use mulch in most of those areas again because the ground covers will cover enough.
Great job on the wall. Y'all do beautiful work. I can't wait to see the next video to see what plants you have decided on. God Bless you and your family.
It looks beautiful! I think your helper was trying to give you a new smile 😃! 😂 It’s nice to see you boys having fun digging in the dirt! Great Job 👏!!!!!
Dang @Brian!! That came out awesome brother!! Nice to see my home state named in your video with the Kentucky tall fescue.. lol !! Stay blessed brother!!
Hi Brian, you & Justin did an amazing job.A Japanese maple would be beautiful.I have rock in my flower beds because of wind & leaves blowing but you do what your family likes.I learned a lot by watching this.👏🏻😊👍🏻
GOOD JOB!! What you did will show off the custom brick design and pretty window. Bushes. TIP--If you soak the soil. Get you a heavy duty chain and a truck and they pull right out. I did 8 rose bushes in 2 hours. They don't grow back and NO digging out.
I liked the addition of the music - that wind was fierce. You put a nice gentle curve in a flower bed so it will be easy to mow around, and I would take it out and around the AC unit unless you intend to cover that up with some sort of screen. I prefer mulch in my flower beds. When I bought this house the prior owner had put white marble stones around the base of two pine trees and it was a disaster, impossible to keep clean looking from the non-stop shedding of pine cones and small twigs from those pines. Mulch can just be raked out and replaced for a fresh clean look, or even just add an extra layer on top and clean out the following spring.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Pine and cedar plants can definitely cause a consistent problem in beds like that! The plants I put in will definitely Have an effect on which direction I go. But I appreciate the reminder, that’s never a good luck
Great work, Brian and Justin. Just catching up on favourite posts. Not been well with MS problems so this is a welcome tonic. Bless you and take care 🌟🌟🌟
That new wall/garden area looks especially great with the stone in your front bricked wall. It was meant to be, so natural looking. Loved seeing your precise way of working. It’s beautiful
Big shout out to you guys for making a difficult job seem methodical and easy. A little planning up front, getting materials together and such cuts down on the windshield time back and forth. Looks like part of the structure now and should be fantastic once plants and colors are there! Nice job guys!
Turned out nice! Always start your retaining walls at the lowest end. As a landscape installation contractor for almost 30 years, I would not put dirt up against house. Brick and concrete will soak up water too.
I have one small flower bed against the house, by the front door. It's 2 steps down from the house. The rest is all gravel, zero lawn against the house, no allowances for termites or water damage.
Absolutely love the colors of your house!!! And I really like you made the circle big because it looks really cool with the stacked stones. Can’t wait for the next video!!
I think you did a beautiful job on that bed. The stone work looked great, and you did a nice job in showing how it was done. Very educational. That really improved the front of the house, and will look awesome when it's planted. That sod cutter did an excellent job of establishing that bed border too.
This is the most exciting video I've watched it a long time ! I really want to know what plants you put in there!!! Great job .
Awesome thanks Philip 😊👍

Turned out nice! Always start your retaining walls at the lowest end. As a landscape installation contractor for almost 30 years, I would not put dirt up against house. Brick and concrete will soak up water too.
I have one small flower bed against the house, by the front door. It's 2 steps down from the house. The rest is all gravel, zero lawn against the house, no allowances for termites or water damage.
Why start at the lowest end?
